In August I decided to rent out my house. I was very nervous about the whole process as it was my first time and had 0 knowledge of what I needed to know as a landlord, so I decided the best road to take is to use an estate agent and pay them for the full management service...WRONG! I have had to chase the estate agents to sort out issues as I want to make sure my tenant is happy and looked after. I have been chasing since September and still not resolved. Their communication is poor and frankly I am disappointed in how once the contract is signed and you're paying their money, you don't hear anything from them...My tenant are also feeling the same way. Waste of money Don't do it!!

To be very honest If I could I would give 0 stars.What an absolutely appalling service. I would never ever use this agent ever. I can only review as a buyer and not using their services myself as a seller but I honestly cannot believe the service or lack of service this agency has. They lied to me and my sales progressor and the whole chain involved for 8 months about a property we were purchasing. Telling us on exchange day that the house we were buying were actually still trying to get rid of tennants from the house their vendors were purchasing, Honestly awful service and Cliff ( office manager) has no people skills whatsoever he shared no empathy or compassion and just generally a real crap service. I have no idea how he got to that level of the business. When we did finally have to pull out of the sale I had zero contact from cliff. The only way I knew that cliff got my message was because I saw the house we had been buying for 6 months go back live onto rightmove. We experienced a completely different service from Haarts who are their local competitor and who would win my business over theirs every day of the week. Avoid.

AVOID AVOID AVOIDWould give minus stars if I could!I foolishly gave our business to sell our property to the Mexborough branch. The only thing they’re interested in is asking you to reduce your price so they get the sale, the first request to do this came after 2 weeks on the market! The property was not overpriced. They won’t reduce their fees!I put in a complaint about their service when they hadn’t changed the description as I’d asked over the phone - they were too busy talking about price reduction! ( I even had to suggest new photos of the garden be taken ‘in bloom’ and had to take them myself). The reply I got from the Regional Manager had spelling errors and bad grammar. Sloppy!I was told someone from the Branch would get in touch to resolve matters. I heard nothing. Even when the complaint was ‘escalated’ to another department i heard nothing from the Branch and they still refused to release me from their 20 week contract, even a week early.The red flags are there 1) They don’t reply to any feedback on here, good or bad. 2) They don’t record their telephone calls for training or monitoring like all other reputable companies do. That way their staff can lie about what they said and deny what you said.I honestly have never dealt with such an unprofessional and dishonest company. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

I agreed I would do what I could and moved out 4 days early. Now refusing the refund.Also claiming £750 in damages claiming damages that were in place when i moved in and after i spent a considerable amount of time and money improving the property. Gutted !!

This is probably the worst letting agents I have ever used. They take your money and don't do anything. They put in tenants with no money. You have to chase up constantly. You have to deal with the tenant if you want something done. Basically you have to do it all. They will charge you for every little thing. The agents don't know anything when u call up. The staff turnover is high and so you never have the same person helping you. I would avoid at all cost. They still owe me money and don't ever communicate. They are seriously the worst agents I have ever worked with. Get this, the tenant cost me £8,500 and counting of damages.

Terrible Service. I havent had someone speak to me so rudely and unprofessionally over the phone before. Stay clear from this agency, they treat customers like criminals. You do not build a reputable business like this. Plenty of other agencies to choose from. I though I had a booking today and rang the doorbell. The agency called me back like I was a criminal over a simple mistake a pizza delivery man can make, escalating things way out of hand, what a show that was. I had a booking for a property tomorrow with them, CANCELLED. Save the time. I also raised a complaint to Their Complaints department as this is unacceptable for a business. Also, their website shows Feefo feedbacks but these are only for people with an existing contract with them, if you had a terrible experience before you rent thier properties, it can't be added there. Classic.

Were not clear and transparent about the 14 Day cooling off period. Verbally told we could cancel but this is not so. When we informed them we had changed our minds we were told ok. However then informed we could not sell with another agent because we had signed contract. Also did not ask us about sole agency just filled this part of contract in themselves. Agents are not honest. Would rather not sell house than let this agency act for us. Would definitely not recommend as you cannot trust them to act in your best interests.

Same review I've left on Google: Really don't recommend them as they have no idea about the property they're selling, the viewing agent knows even less and they don't even have the decency to clean the property they're selling. Not to mention that throughout the process they keep trying to force you to work with their advisors. Next time I'd go for nestledin, butchers or any other agency who respects their buyers enough to at least welcome them to a clean property. As a date I'm selecting the 10th of July as that's the time we got our keys.

Absolutely discusting service, after trying to book a viewing for more than three weeks (always in contact with the landlord) I was the first to rent the property accordingly to the landlord. On the same day they cancelled my viewing saying that have 4 offers, very unprofessional. I think the main reason is because I'm foreigner (living in UK for 10 years) racism that's the main reason. For 3 years I contacted WHB to sort out the severe and dangerous damp in my property. Nothing was done. It took 18 months to fix a hole in the roof, which no doubt contributed to this issue, as my ceilings fell in during the work on the roof. I made many improvements to the garden, including spending THOUSANDS on the severely overgrown garden. On my departure, I was accused of contributing to the damp (this was an issue from the OUTSIDE of the home) and that I owed them hundreds. They caused stress and anxiety to me during my letting experience. I found the dealings with them to be underhand, unprofessional and several health and safety regulations are ignored. They want to make a profit, be it by fair means or foul. Their customer care and attention to the welfare of their tenants needs some serious improvement!

Dont trust their fefo reviews as you cant leave a review on them unless invited so if you've had a bad experience guess what you're not going to get an invite. This should be made illegal as they pride themselves on this rating and one of the reasons we went with them but once you look into it this covers every branch in the contry. The Pontefract branch are a good bunch of people but their lack of communication and miss pricing our property when we had reduced it. 20 weeks we have been with them abd i feel we have made more contact with them than the other way around chasing for feed back from views. I wouldn't recommend them sorry

STAY AWAY from Williamhbrown, they charge dual fees! We have had an awful experience with the Colchester culver street estate agents. They didn’t turn up for half the viewings and when they did turn up, it was someone who had just started with them and barely had any experience. I had to show people around when I had specifically told them I had just lost my dad to covid and i wasn’t up to showing people around. They cancelled lots of viewings, saying due to covid. They left doors unlocked. We were constantly asking them when we were out of contract, to which they replied 12 weeks, which changed to 20 weeks, then we got confirmation we could go with other agents. Then months later, after we moved we got a letter from MIL to say we were being sued for £4,200, which we are currently disputing. They said they introduced the buyer to us, but they pulled out and put in an offer on another property, then few months later viewed with Palmers and made an offer which we accepted. They told us they had sold our house and when we put an offer on another property, the estate agent who showed us around said you may need to check as your house hasn’t been sold. We had to withdraw our offer. Honestly it’s been a nightmare, steer clear of this agent, I am going to go on every social media site I can and let people know what these agents are like.
