Robert Ellis sold our house in Long Eaton within 3/4 weeks . Quite a feat in an undynamic market! We initially met Mike who impressed me immediately with his positive attitude. He appreciated everything we had done to the house and always responded to any problems or issues we had throughtout. Later in the process Caroline was very supportive particularly when the solicitors were not very forthcoming with information. She was able to put my mind at rest that we would meet our deadline. This was very important as we were moving to France and had important committments there. Both Mike and Caroline helped us greatly through a stressful time. I found them both to be not only knowledgable and efficient professionally, but also very supportive and understanding on a human level.

Recently bought a home through Robert Ellis, Long Eaton. Had a lovely experience. Really appreciated the communication and the honesty when viewing properties which really gave me confidence in them. I’d like to give a special shout out to … Louise, who handled the sale process and was a pleasure to deal with. Joely, who I dealt with at the offer stage but continued to be contactable and greeted me with a huge smile when I went to get the keys on completion day. Finally a shout out to Harry, who I think gave me one of the most enthusiastic viewings I’ve ever had and also the funniest, when we got a little stuck in a doorway trying to stop the cat escaping, but I’ll leave that to him to explain to his colleagues 😊 Thankyou all & Happy Christmas.

We looked for the longest time for new business premises. And the most frustrating thing by far was the lack of effort from the agents. Never answering phones, not getting back to you about viewings and rigid and ridiculous terms. But what a literal breath of fresh air from Robert Ellis. From the first phone call, booked us straight in, 2 visits arranged with no fuss. Great communication and no game playing. Paul Sweeney and his team were fantastic. Honestly, if you are looking to advertise your commercial property to lease, dont waste your time with any others claiming to be the best....just go with Robert Ellis. Completely wasted mine and my partners time. We booked a viewing, turned up after driving an hour from Leicester and no one was there. When I called, they claimed that they tried to call me to rearrange. This was false as I had no missed calls from them whatsoever. They also had been communicating with me via email, so a quick phone call then giving up is just plain lazy and pathetic. My partner and I are self employed and had taken time out of our work schedules to attend this viewing. When I called, the person I spoke to was dismissive and condescending. We will not be renting off these estate agents as they’ve already lost our trust before even getting a chance to view the property. Awful service and terrible attitudes.

SUMMARY: Consider the many other agents in the area, as you’re just a number with these guys. In simple terms, they liaised between our buyer and seller, leading to our eventual sale and purchase. Louise was informative when we spoke and gave a great impression of the firm. Unfortunately I would not recommend them, they are a local “big name” yes, but there are plenty of others! They told us some of the fixtures/contents were being left, totally outside of the solicitors, and this led to confusion and surprises later down the line. On completion day my wife rushed down to pick the keys up at 11:35 (having been waiting all morning for an update from the solicitors), to be told “the vendor is bringing them to you”. They then lied and told her they’d called to let us know. No apologies for this, no congratulations, no smiles or anything. £2,619 we paid them for the sale of a modest semi.

I only leave reviews when it's exceptionally good or bad. The whole experience with Robert Ellis is a 5 star every time I deal with them. My main contact point is Leah and Conor. Leah was managing booking 5-6 viewings in a day for us. She is well aware our relocation plan and try to be most effective as they could. Any enquiry raised, she would come back in max 30 mins around, in the end she even remembered my phone number giving a personal greeting every time I call, such an extra attention to detail! Conor is very proactive, he found our needs from a short conversation, coming up with a recommendation which suits our criteria perfectly, very knowledgeable of property market with such approachable personality. He even picks up a call on his day offs while I can hear his kids behind calling for him :) Outside of our main contact people, Louise welcomed us on our first visit to the office to register ourselves, she was very professional & giving a valuable tips for viewings as such. Spoken to Caroline, Joely over the phone as well, Harry and Holly for other viewings, all of them are very prompt to help, professional in what they do. Experience with Robert Ellis changed my skeptical perception of estate agent, they are there to help me to find the house I need, confidently putting more than 5 star! Thank you Robert Ellis :)
