Birkby Croft is a welcoming place - a place that feels like home, my grandad finds it comfortable and has made many friends whilst he’s been here. It has a great communal lounge, which is ideal for socialising with peers. Katrina - the scheme manager is very helpful and understanding no matter the situation. She is there if you have any difficulties and need some extra support.

I instructed York Estates to sell my flat in Crawford Street because I wanted the personal approach of a smaller independent agency. I wanted to deal with proper people that I could relate to and trust. I made the right decision. At the very first meeting I was given a realistic, reasonable target price and in March 2026 they achieved it. But to me what was more important was that I felt very comfortable with them. They were representing me and it matters that they are decent people. It matters a lot. Julia was brilliant. I could go on....

Great customer service - Shout out form Shahib

The customer service I received from Shahib today was excellent. It was a very complicated issue I was struggling with, and I had already been passed around a lot and sighed at having called lots of different places and people. Shahib was very helpful, friendly, and resolved my issue better than anyone else. Give that man a raise, he's on the 99th percentile for great customer service in the whole of Yorkshire (it feels like I've spoken to everyone in Yorkshire today...). Great customer service.

York Estates is the best Estate Agency, make sure to use them!!! (Especially Chrissie!) Being a huge believer in everything happens for a reason, it was completely serendipitous I came across York Estates. Within 10 minutes of answering my call, Chrissie took me on two viewings, one of which I ended up purchasing. She made me feel totally at ease anytime we communicated; never rushing me off the phone & always being super prompt at responding, (even when she was on holiday!). Chrissie had no shame chasing the relevant parties which ensured we were able to move at lightening speed. I was on a huge time crunch of trying to complete in 5 weeks to meet the stamp duty deadline & she made the 0.01% chance of completing in time possible. Thank you again Chrissie, I could never have done this without you! I felt the care and attention one could only hope for, you found me my dream first home & for that I will forever be grateful. Spoke to Gurpreet at YH, I was requesting a home improvement (installation of an EV charger) and copy of my tenancy agreement which I had been chasing for the past 2 years. Gurpreet got it for me (tenancy agreement) within 30 mins which is absolutely fantastic and a huge credit to the team. I’m still waiting on the approval for home improvements which I was told can take a while. She even had the courtesy to call me back to make sure I had received it correctly!

Having held over £900 of my money…

Having held over £900 of my money stating I have to be a month in credit with my rent ( not mentioned on my tenancy agreement) I have had to issue court summons to receive my funds back. I have been passed from pllar to post over the last couple of months and I would definitely not recommend them to anyone. I have been a resident since 2007 but the just seem to think they can shit on us and thus time they have shit on the wrong one !!

Report a repair November 25, 2 surveyors came to look at it, Feb 26 still no work done. Call again March 17th, to be given no update. Asked to put in a complaint, offered a £30 gift voucher for the length of time it had taken to do the repairs, I was told I could only accept the gift voucher if I withdrawn the complaint. Needless to say I did not accept thr gift voucher
