Their team was consistently professional, responsive, and thoughtful, which made all the difference during what can often be a stressful process. They were always transparent in their actions and communication between all parties, buyer, seller, and everyone in between. Internally, they’re incredibly well linked-up; nothing ever needed to be explained twice to two different people. The horse knows where its head is, so to speak, and that kind of seamless coordination is rare. We’ve worked with Whitman & Co over the course of a decade, and both their lettings and sales teams are equally professional and can be wholeheartedly recommended. If you’re looking to establish a genuine, long-term relationship with a local agency that knows the area inside out, this is the one. Remarkably, there’s been no staff turnover in all that time, which says a lot. It’s the sign of a place that not only runs professionally but also truly values its people, with nothing to hide. Their network of trusted contractors also made the selling process incredibly smooth, especially for someone not on site. Everyone they recommended was punctual, reliable, and reasonably priced. Having someone physically present and on your side as a seller makes a world of difference, it turned what could have been a logistical headache into a near-seamless experience. Throughout our sale, I always felt they had our best interests at heart. They struck the right balance of being personable while also giving direct, pragmatic advice. I have lived in Chiswick over 30 years and in that time have met some first class estate agents, some legendary in the neighbourhood. Nevertheless, privately owned Whitmans has always stood out from the other firms because of the sheer depth of local knowledge and expertise across the whole team. There are no 'juniors'; everyone is a seasoned hand who either does or has lived in Chiswick. Their significant market share means that one always feels their views on value are reliable, which is essential for a seller, and no serious buyer can afford not to talk to them. Finally, each and every one of them is charming and a pleasure to deal with.

I would not ever deal with Whitman and Co for rental or purchase again. While I had a positive relationship with both Kay and Laura over the course of my tenure at the property. Grievances were handled promptly and they were always very helpful. My 3 stars rather than 5 stems from the entirety of my rent deposit being taken unscrupulously from me despite returning the place without damage. I felt quite betrayed and cheated on that aspect. But perhaps my fault on that - as property agencies like Whitman and Co need to be held to account with before-after photos of inventory. As there is always a tendency amongst these type of agencies to make extra money from customers through underhanded means. In this respect I was very disappointed as the good faith and trust in the relationship was breached and cast a shadow over an otherwise positive experience.PositiveQuality, Professionalism

Over the years I had asked James to value our flat several times, so when we were finally ready to take the plunge I already had a good feeling of Whitman’s and didn’t contact anyone else. I was mainly attracted by the transparent approach and lack of lengthy binding contracts, making me feel like we kept control of the process and could still make choices to accept or decline an offer. We entered the market at a pretty rocky time for flats and we had a short-ish lease, but we managed to get a really good buyer, and found our onward move with Whitmans too. In fact they had such a good quality of properties in the area we only saw one other property with another agent compared to around 10 with Whitman’s. Massive thanks to Katie who was with us right from the very beginning of the process, and made sure to show us enough options to make us 110% certain our new home was the one for us, it really is gorgeous and can’t wait to move in! And huge thanks to Denise and Bella on the sale of our flat, it makes us happy to know it went to lovely people! We have bought twice before in the area, and for me it was a stand out difference dealing with Whitman’s compared to some of the large agencies, it felt really personal and pretty quickly anyone who answers the phone seems to get familiar with who you are and which property is yours, good communication and good open discussion on valuations and strategy. Laura did everything she could to make the experience, from check-in through to maintenance and the occasional unforeseen issue go very, very smoothly and we more than appreciate her care and responsiveness as well as sense of humour. Recommend Whitman & Co. to everyone and when we purchased the flat we had been renting, Chris was also a great person to work with and helped us get the purchase over the line by 30th June so cannot speak highly enough of the team!
