The most seamless and hassle-free experience I've had with an estate agent when renting in London. Leo, who has showed me around a few flats, was incredibly helpful and responsive. He listened to my requirements, proactively suggested flats for me to consider, was flexible on times around my schedule, and provided great support when putting in an offer. Everything was very well-organised and their online platform makes tracking the steps of the tenancy process very easy, which I’ve not encountered with other estate agents. The flat itself was immaculately cleaned with no hidden issues and ready-to-go as soon as I moved in. Couldn’t recommend enough!

We have used Sterling Ackroyd for a number of years to manage our BTL property. We cannot speak highly enough of the service they offer which is tailored to our requirements. Communications are prompt and tenants issues are relayed to us promptly and dealt with quickly in line with our authorisation. There has rarely been an issue where we feel that we can obtain better value by actioning things directly and this is definitely the exception to the rule that Sterling nonetheless work with us on. Sarah Jones who is currently our property manager is knowledgable, professional and friendly and has provided strong continuity regarding the management of our property. We can accordingly recommend them without reservation.

We bought a home from a couple that was represented by Stirling Ackroyd at this office. Given the challenges that we faced working with our own estate agents, conveyancing solicitors, mortgage people, and the reputation of the whole industry in the United Kingdom, I did not hold out much hope that the other party's estate agents would be wonderful to work with. I was very pleasantly surprised to find out how great they actually were. They were more honest, open and communicative than anyone we were working with, even though they worked for the other party! They somehow seem to understand that everything going smoothly and quickly is in everyone's best interest. Alexandrej was very responsive, Seth helped a lot, and Nick was an absolute star. It's a bit unusual to say this, but the estate agents on the other side of the table were the best people we dealt with.

Sold a property using their auction service which utilised Pattisons auction house. Met Nick the branch manager in person to discuss valuations and we agreed a value for the property which was actually lower than dexters appraisal but I liked his conveyed realism so went ahead. I mainly used their auction service as I live abroad and didn’t want to wait the common 6 month timeframe with buyers not locked in. They came to view the property , I asked for feedback and was told the property was fine as it was but never the less I tidied up a few bits and bobs. Come 3 months with little to no interest , no regular updates and communication I was getting a little concerned as in addition to no updates the 2 companies don’t seem to regularly meet or talk which led to failings regarding legal packs and other things which should have been picked up but were not until I intervened and I was now left till November before buyers would be able to actually view the required documents for the property. In addition to this i complained that 4 photos of the actual block of the property rather than the unit itself was too much whilst the room pictures didn’t do the sizes justice either , perhaps the photographer hadn’t heard of a wide lens ?. I was told quite rudely by Nick that the market has spoken and I should lower my price if I wasn’t happy whilst they wouldn’t retake the photos as they thought it was fine which I thought was a poor attitude considering their failings in the aforementioned areas compared to others listings / agents ! Unlike many greedy folk I was already accepting that the landscape changed after her idiotness Truss and co announcements so was willing to accept less anyway. After a few more failed viewings and not much interest finally a portfolio landlord bought the property much under value I might add and more thanks to Pattisons auction house than this mob but I was done with the process so let it be. I would say be wary of the nice initial attitude as it seems as soon as you raise issues their demeanour changes so do your due diligence and be prepared whilst I would also not recommend the auction route as there are not as as many incentives to give your property the attention you may expect whilst buyers are faced with a big commission so will naturally factor that in to any offer which will most likely be lower than market. The most ironic thing was 1 month after telling me to lower my price I saw a similar property listed by them which was actually priced higher and pretty similar so I guess that seller will also be having the same chat with Nick although I suspect they unlike me wised up as it was delisted after a few weeks. In summary I cannot recommend them and won’t be using them again given the issues mentioned.

Starting with the viewing by Mr. Philip and the rest of the details right up to the contract and clear explanation of everything was done by Mr. Ashley. Ashley was quite patient with me and provided me with all the information that was required in time for the date that I expected to move in. He went above and beyond by liaising with the other parties involved to get me to move in on time and make it all worth while. It was a real pleasure working with Mr. Ashley to get my very first rented home in the UK.

Leonardo was truly exceptional! ALWAYS available for us either to show the flat via video and then in person or to clarifying any issue regarding my future tenancy. His responsiveness was incredible. If he didn’t pick up, he would always call back no longer than 5 minutes later. Seriously. Leonardo is also very well versed at dealing with all the other involved parties in the tenancy process and managed to solve a number of things and when not able to do so via 3rd parties he actual went ahead and did it himself! Really rare to find someone who actually cares and takes matter into hands to get things done when is not even part of his duties! We are very thankful to Leonardo as he made all the process much smother! A true star! Do not hesitate to ask for him when looking for a new flat in the "wilderness" :) of London market!

An impromptu call to Stirling Ackroyd, after lots of internet scrolling (and dead ends), led to the Lovely Nathan. Due to his job as what we think of as ‘London’s Best Estate Agent’ we have found the dream London rental, on his suggestion. An absolute pleasure to work with, as finding somewhere to live is a job in itself, especially so in a pandemic, in the middle of a lockdown. Nathan made the process so much more manageable (and fun!) After listening to us discuss the type of property we wanted to find, he took out the hours of internet scrolling and made thoughtful suggestions, listened to our thoughts on viewings and came up with alternatives. He did the job of an Estate Agent with such grace and respect, I can write this review with such confidence to recommend him to anyone looking to find their next property. We had such a positive experience of the whole process, from finding somewhere suitable, to finding somewhere we really liked, and managing the process of making an offer in such an unsettling time of our lives due to the pandemic. 10/10, he deserves a pay rise!PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
