We have been having a very poor service…

We have been having a very poor service throughout the 7 years we have been renting our flat in Highbury.Whenever we had a problem we had to wait many days before they replied and took any action.Most of the times we had to address directly the owner who could step in and unblock the situations.At the present moment , we are experiencing a huge delay in the return of our deposit:after one month since we left the property we do not know yet when the founds should hit our account.

Professional, organised and helpful. I approached Portico after a disastrous experience with a different Leyton Letting agent. Billy from Portico, Leyton supported me through a complete renovation of the property, holding the keys to give work people access and ensuring the work was done to a high standard. They advertised the property, organised the viewings and vetted the prospective tenants. I was kept informed throughout. I recommend their service.

This Agency are at best grossly incompetent and negligent. At worst they are outright criminals. I have good reason to believe one of their operatives has aided or facilitated criminal activity surrounding a burglary at my flat last year. When I left the property Portico unlawfully and in a serious breach of code of conduct held on to my deposit for an unreasonable amount of time. In spite of multiple attempts to contact them they ignored me. When I eventually received my deposit (following an insidious attempt to take large sums of money off of me), they offered me a measly compensation of £50. It has been four months since this compensation money was promised and they have still failed to pay. They are now ignoring my emails. STAY AWAY!

Awful. Took them over a year to sell the property and we sold at a figure that was £75K under the initial asking price. Andrew Murphy, one of the managers there, was rude to deal with and less than sympathetic when we asked them to review our fee back to the original fee they offered, specifically in light of the huge drop in value. He said no with a very rude and condescending email. We made a huge loss and were almost homeless after this mess. Happy to share the email from Andrew to prove how rude he was to deal with, please just ask me.

TENANTS - IF YOUR DEPOSIT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU DO NOT USE Portico were completely negligent in the handling of our deposit return and we had to wait months to get it back. Bear this in mind if you value your deposit! After moving out of the property we were renting, they never bothered to pay us our deposit back or even contact us about how it was progressing. We had to process a claim through the tenancy deposit scheme (TDS). This took months. After kickstarting the process with TDS they had the cheek to try and take some of our deposit for extra professional cleaning (we had to pay £250 for a clean before we left) and unexplained damages (no evidence provided to explain what the damages were). I hope this review helps some renters out there!

I stated I hadn’t heard from them regarding my valuation. The branch called finally called and he was a little hostile. He said that Guy had left the company. Very odd.
