New property manager Alice took over looking after our property just a few weeks ago and yet, she has been so efficient and brilliant at sorting out issues that normally drag out to months and months. So greateful to Alice for the way she understands the issues, takes ownership, finds providers and coordinates with the owner. She is clear and timely in her communications. Very poor agents

Very poor service. We had multiple issues throughout our tenancy and had to threaten with ombudsman to get things sorted. This started at the beginning when the agent tried to trick my foreign partner into a lease without any break clause and lasted to the end of the tenancy when the agent then took an excessively long time to sort out deposit arrangements (>40 days to provide a breakdown of intended deductions). We only got the ball rolling again when we threatened to sue. I highly doubt they were transparent with our landlord either, as we had to frequently go through our neighbor who knew him to get things done. Never have I seen such a poorly managed estate agency (and I have seen many). Landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers should all stay away, they will cause you more stress than you need.

As a buyer, I guess you have to just hope you’re getting a good estate agent as many out there in the market don’t seem to care much but I was lucky enough to get Domininc from the Hammersmith branch, who was just a star. He kept me informed throughout the entire process, super proactive, quick to respond to emails, always willing to help and, again, quite fast to come back with answers. I honestly wouldn't think twice before reaching out to him if I were to sell my flat or look for another to buy.

Marc Mcilveney (Branch Manager) and his team have been the contracted Management Company since the purchase of our property for the last 10 years. Marc has provided an outstanding all round service to our property interests and ensuring all needs have been met. Ensuring relevant certificates (e.g EPC, Electrical safety certificate and others) and Tenancy contracts, inventory checklists and maintenance checks were all in order and up to date. An online video marketing the property was made available during these unprecedented times of the COVID 19 Pandemic where physical access and viewings of properties are restricted. He undoubtedly looks after both the landlord and the tenants best interests, providing sound solutions to any issues as/should they arise. Highly recommend their service.

An outstanding property manager

For a number of years, Portico has managed properties which my husband and I own in London. They have consistently provided very good, very professional service. Ieva Sarkovska stands out from the team as an incredibly efficient and effective property manager. Ieva has dealt with numerous issues that have arisen at our properties including most recently, a very protracted and complex issue arising from a burst pipe. Not only did Ieva arrange for the immediate plumbing and drying services but she also worked with the property building managers, the relevant contractors and indirectly the insurers to ensure the property will be fully reinstated. We could not be more grateful for all of her efforts.

Knowledgable and solid professionalism

Knowledgable and solid professionalism. Approached Portico as I wanted them to come and value my property for rental. Dealt with a manager (I believe) Named Vatche Cherchian. I’d invited 3 different companies to come and give me a valuation. Decided to go with Portico as they were very down to earth, but most importantly weren’t trying to over exaggerate what I could/should achieve just to secure the deal. Ended up going with them and I’m very happy with the outcome. So much so that I’m using them to sell a property as well. The industry is full of agents - which is great, but it’s good to know that agents such as this one can still have a normal 1-1 discussion with you in a highly professional and pleasant manner. Had a mini incident where I thought I’d left the front keys on the door and was quite a bit away from the property: agent went to the property on what was his lunch break to check! Ended up that I dropped them down the side of my car seat... but the fact that Vatche did that was very appreciated.

WORST AGENT: you will be at exploitation risk.

Despite government ban on admin fee , the below amount was demanded by portico for the renewal of our contract, after being with them for 5 years.BELOW EVIDENCE FROM MY EMAIL SENT BY DAVID BARRY "For the time of Portico staff. This includes the RCs, Paralegal (references), Property Management/Administration Front Office, 4hrs = £136(£34 an hour, which is £17 per hour people cost plus £17 cost of a Zone 1 London head officeAdministration including all calls, text messages, emails, letters, postage, fax, photocopies, scans = £50In-house Counsel (£150) and Paralegal team (£60) ensuring that all documents and processes comply with a all legislations that pertain to the transfer of obligations, landlord and tenant rights, deposit protection, contracts etc". David needs a refresher customer care training. He is making landlords to lose their good tenants with his poor customer service.

Unprofessional agency!!

Unprofessional agency!!! We were trying to arrange a view to rent a property. During the call, a worker named Rob T ended the call to our face without even listening us properly. Even though the rent price is below the legal limit that we can rent, they did not give us a chance. I hate UK rental agencies. They are very spoiled and not helpful to students. There should be legal regulations for these kind of things.
