GoogleI have had the worst experience with Outlet. Would avoid them like a plague! Been a complete waste of time and they don't have one competent member of staff. They charge exorbitant fees for a service that is supposed to be professional but is far from it.

Hi James
We are sorry you have apparently had a negative experience with Outlet. We do take your feedback very seriously and have looked into what may have gone wrong. On this occasion it looks like distress was raised around the referencing. We can see that initially you provided the wrong reference information which caused you to fail at the referencing process. We encouraged you to provide the required information however being self-employed this obviously proved difficult for you and the referencing stalled once more. We did our best to work around this by contacting the landlord and seeking an alternative solution for you to pay three months up front but you were not in a position to meet this suggestion. In the end it was the landlord who took the view not to proceed with letting you the property.
Please note we use an independent referencing company that specialises in referencing applicants applying to rent a property. The company is used by hundreds of estate agents across the country and follows the same general guidelines used by similar companies. The documents you provided for your referencing would most properly have also led to a failed reference at any other agency.
We have though noted that amongst the ongoing referencing challenges a delay in communication also arose caused by a staff member moving on to further their career and thus not being around to keep constantly on top of things. This led to you being dealt with by several of the team members which I think may have added to your frustration. For this we do apologise and are now taking steps to improve our hand over procedure for future staff that may be moving on.

GoogleGreat company. I have a buy to let property and they manage it for me. It’s made the whole process (of being a landlord) really manageable for me and has been an excellent return on my investment for the service I get. This company clearly doesn’t have a huge turnover of staff (so that says something positive), because the really nice thing is that I have been dealing with the same staff for several years. It has been really nice to know that they understand me, the property and my tenants and I have never had to repeat myself about what’s gone on before time and time again. Highly recommended on all counts but mainly due to the hands on personal service. They really do care!

GoogleAs a landlord beware, they promise a lot up front but unless they are managing your property they don't follow up something as basic as to check whether your tenant has signed a direct debit or standing order. How are you as a landlord supposed to know whether your tenant has signed this? You need to review your bank account and if you've not been paid you have to follow this up personally with the tenant. To be fair if your tenant has paid, and once they've taken all of their commission up front, which is in their terms, they pay you in a day or two.

We had originally taken the “safe” route and engaged the agents who seemed to dominate sales of high-end properties in the area. The initial period produced few interested buyers and we did not feel that we were getting a high degree of agent enthusiasm.
The difference with Outlet could not be greater. We got the total attention of their team to devise a plan uniquely suited to the special issues involved with our sale. The expert advice and total care we received was instrumental in maximizing buyer interest. We felt an immediate pick-up in activity and received a number offers within two weeks.
In the end, results are what matters and after originally feeling that we would need to accept a disappointing outcome, as a result of their efforts we were pleasantly shocked to be able to achieve the highest price per square foot paid in our neighborhood.

GoogleOutlet is one of the best estate agencies we worked with in London while we were looking for a place to rent. David, Peter, …; well, all the people in Outlet were really professional, efficient and friendly. It was not the agency that showed us more number of flats (actually, they only showed us one, which, by the way, was the one we chose afterwards), but it was the only one that really cared about what our requirements were and what we were really looking for. They traded-off quantity by quality and we really appreciate not having wasted our time looking for flats that didn´t match our requirements.
When we put on the table the challenge of needing a pet-friendly place, they professionally worked on it (while other agencies had directly rejected trying). When they found a place that they thought we could like, they liaised with the landlord and made it happen. Myself, my wife… and my cat, are really thankful!

GoogleI have been using Outlet since I started renting my rooms out three years ago. It is a site I would and do recommend to others, whether they are looking for accommodation or, like me, renting out accommodation.
When looking for new lodgers, I often browse through the ads leaving them a message about my ofter. Whether people are interested in my ad or not, more often than not, I get a reply back. This way, it feels more active and alive than many other sites. Some of the replies, even though not interested in the rooms offered, have led to friendships developing. Likewise, the monthly social meetings they used to hold between landlords and lodgers/tenants have also been very beneficial, as they offer a very useful opportunity to meet others looking or searching to share ideas and experiences over a drink or few in a friendly environment supported by the Outlet team.
Through these meetings I have enjoyed tremendous support and encouragement from the team and their expert advice and opinions. It can be surprisingly daunting trying to find suitable lodgers/tenants, but just knowing the team are there to help makes a lot of any anxieties far more bearable than otherwise. I can easily write this because I have experienced their help and support on many occasions, for which I'm extremely grateful. I wish and hope everyone using Outlet feels and experiences this as much as I have.

GoogleBloomsbury Estates have used Outlet sales and letting agents over the past several years. They have always been helpful and friendly and dealt with things on a professional basis. We now use them almost solely for our lettings and sales but even when on multi agency lettings Outlet nearly always outperform the local competition.
