After finding a flat on Rightmove, I contacted Nicholas James to arrange a viewing. George was quickly in contact with me via email, and *extremely* responsive. He kindly organised a viewing for us at the weekend so my husband didn't have to leave work. From the get go, he was enthusiastic about making sure everything went smoothly, and you can really tell he actually knows his stuff. It's always nice when an agent has local knowledge from living in the area themselves, and my husband and I both felt like we were in good hands. As first time buyers, we wanted to get things through before the stamp duty increase (as I'm sure many others are in a similar position) George was a blessing all the way through and constantly kept us updated and chased things up on both sides - he went above and beyond. He was always very transparent and open about what was going on, so we knew what to expect/ where we stood. We were definitely apprehensive at times, but we did it within 2.5 months! George also helped us find more reliable solicitors when our original choice wasn't responding, and was always around for advice (and our annoying questions! He's super friendly and approachable) I honestly can't fault him. Obviously buying a house is one of the more stressful things you can do in life, and I can't say it wasn't completely stress free but we got to the end. It helped the sellers were also sweethearts and everyone really worked together to get this through in time. I'd highly recommend NJ! I'm always happy to support a smaller/family business, and we were never made to feel like we we were anything but a priority. We've rented before from other agencies, but the standard for customer service at NJ set the bar higher. No chasing around and waiting for responses - George was on it and constantly monitoring emails. I think he has eyes in the back of his head! Thank you so much for all the hard work :) ✨🎉

I don’t usually post reviews but after my experience with George and the company… I MUST POST THIS. I’ve had many experiences both renting properties in London as a tenant and renting out properties as a Landlord since the 80s… I have dealt with many estate agents ranging from awful to, at the best, ok and acceptable… and George and Nicholas James Estate Agents are the first that I can honestly say were extraordinary. They go beyond just having a property on the books and getting a warm body to fill it. This company focuses on matching up tenants and landlords and tending to the relationship and workability between them so that the tenant has an extraordinary experience with the landlord and the landlord knows that he has a tenant who will take care of his property. Thank you George for all the great work you did to get us the perfect property and owner… we love it and appreciate you.

I had the pleasure of dealing with George from Nicholas James Estate. We all know how challeging it can be to secure a lease in London. George made the entire experience rather stress-free for me. From the prompt response to my viewing request, to showing the flat in a professional manner, then being so quick with following up with the landlady and being responsive on emails even on weekends. The whole process was done within a week - a massive weight off my shoulder. On top of that, he is very friendly and pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend his service.

Our experience with Nicholas James was truly five star! Both George and James went above and beyond what one would expect, they catered to our unique circumstances and nothing was impossible for them. We were updated on a daily basis even when George was on holiday lol (that’s really not expected George). They were trustworthy, honest, genuine and struck a fair balance between the interest of both parties. They had sound knowledge of the area, and legal expertise which helped speed up the conveyancing process. We would highly recommend them!

Trying to find a flat whilst being abroad can be stressful on its own, however from all the estate agents that I've been in touch with in North London, I can with my hand on my heart say that Andrew from Nicholas James Estate Agents in Southgate has made the biggest impression, he's gone over and beyond for us throughout the whole process and cannot recommend these guys enough. Andrew was understanding and patient and answered all of our questions promptly. He constantly made us feel reassured which was important whilst trying to book a place from abroad and having to see everything virtually! I also appreciated the fact that you could sense his good working relationship with our new landlord, which is a key element as tenants; speaking from experience 😀 Last but not least, Andrew continues with the same professionalism and genuine care even after we've signed our contracts. We started our buying process with James, who was from the get go really straight up, honest and helpful. Once our offer was accepted we worked with George, and honestly nothing we post here will do justice for how amazing George was. He’s a real person, no nonsense and works tirelessly. I was a first time buyer and having heard such horror stories of estate agents and solicitors alike during a sale process, I was a bit anxious. However dealing with Nicholas James Estate Agents was a dream. I met James at the property viewing. Really nice guy, he was not at all pushy, very friendly and allowed me time to do a second walk through of the property at my own pace. After my offer was accepted, my main contact was George who was super efficient throughout the whole process, and what a cheerful guy with his funny jokes. He kept me updated at all stages, chased my solicitor and the vendor’s solicitor when needed without being pushy. Lucky both solicitors where efficient and with George’s help we were able to exchange contracts in just over two months. Nicholas James even had the electrics of the property inspected and the gas safety checks done at a cost to themselves because the vendor did not have an up to date certificates. And when the vendor by right refused not to get the checks done since it is not a legal requirement, for my peace of mind, Nicholas James took on the cost of the two inspections themselves when they had no obligation to do so. So I would like to say a big thank you to the NJ Estates team and a special thank you to George for making my first time purchase a stress free process and being such a star throughout. Lola.

Flat was filthy moving in. Broken lights, shabby and grimy, furniture left when it was specified as unfurnished. No hot water and when I called an engineer out he deemed the boiler unsafe so they didn’t even carry out proper safety checks. No answer from their ‘emergency’ line-you leave a voicemail and…nothing happens. Absolute cowboys

This has to be one of the worst estate agent in North London. Inquired about a property 7 days ago, Np respond what so ever, called then for a follow up, the rude receptionist, staff,, answer the call and their excuse was they only have one person checking the emails and it will take another week for any respond. I feel sorry for any home owner who trust these people to rent/sale their property, as all they do they loose potential buyers/tenants. Stay Far away from this place.

I just rented a property through Nicholas James Estate Agents in Southgate and I have to say I was very impressed with the how professional they where from start to finish! Coming from a tenants point of view, dealing with other agents in my past experience was not as pleasant as dealing with these guys! I initially dealt with Andrew who I must say has a true understanding of service, he really went out of his way to help us find the property that we wanted, also I found that dealing with the company as whole was really pleasant, if Andrew wasn't available to answer a question anyone we spoke to in the company where extremely helpful and new the answer to our question which shows that there is clear communication amongst the Nicholas James team!
