GoogleOur agent Shemsi was really fantastic, a breath of fresh air after our other experiences with letting agents. He was super transparent and proactively helpful, and didn't go down the route of pitting tenants against each other. Thanks Shemsi!

Paul Buchanan was a total star in my quest for a flat in London. I was living in Spain when he assisted my house hunting and while other agents from other agencies were giving me hell with remote viewings and sending me flats that didn’t meet my needs, Paul was always sending me so many nice properties and following up with tenants to see if new flats would become available. He is not your average robot agent, he actually shows his personality and jokes around. In the end I had to go for a different place because I decided to move to a different area for personal reasons. However, if I have to move places again I will contact him for sure. Thanks to Paul I have gained a newfound respect for real estate agents, which I thought I’d never get back.

I found the online auction unreliable. I suspect internal manipulation in the bidding process. For example, I once bought an overpriced house and had to bid for the garage that reached £38,000. However, I eventually pulled out of the contract and lost my deposit of £5000, as I suspect foul play. Later, the same garage was sold at the next auction for almost half the price. This was a painful experience on 15/10/2020

From initial enquiry to auction day, Marino, my main contact at McHugh gave me a personal service and recommended a sale price and presentation of property details, to arranging Viewings and updates throughout the process up to auction day and results on the day speaks volume. Very glad to have signed up to McHugh’s auction who are a very professional auctioneers. Highly recommended. Marino kept in close contact throughout the process and so easily contactable.

GoogleOur experience with Paul and McHugh & Co has been phenomenal. Paul is so responsive to emails and answering any questions and his team was really quick when getting references sorted, etc. All of their leasing documents were really straightforward and we honestly could not have had a more positive experience and can't rate them highly enough! Not to mention we have found the most gorgeous flat through them and can't wait to use them again in the future!

GoogleDealt with Marino on a relatively small transaction. Marino remained cooperative and friendly throughout - even on a sale that was comparatively small. He also delivered in the price he thought we could achieve. He will be my first call next time round.

GoogleThere are some good bargains to be had but be very careful with this auction they have special conditions on every lot this usually adds to the final price on average by about 6 thousand . Some of the lots are described incorrectly so they will be marketed as a 3 bed but will in reality be a 2 bed with the bathroom or kitchen moved and made to look like a n extra bedroom . Very shady .

GoogleBe very aware of Witten clause in the special conditions that agree the buyer to Pay either 2.75 % of the sheller legal fees or £4750.00, (of which they don't have to show any evidence) They will always go with the higher of the two sums. It is very miss leading that in classes 8 and 9 these are outlines as far lesser costs only to be superseded later. I would say this is Almost criminal. They could 100% make this clearer and be more upfront that these fee's would be paid to the Seller on completion. You can't help but feel that these are hidden costs

GoogleMy review was exactly the experience another buyer had had as below. The piece of land was worth less £1000, lawyers were threatening and charged around £5000 in fees. Why did google remove it? Buyers Beware. The additional charges levied by this company to successful bidders are well hidden, not transparent and somewhat unethical. Be aware of their charges, as follows: 1/ Buyers Fee: £1,000.00 2/ Fees for Property searches: £650.00 (usually around £150.00!) 3/ Sellers Fees: £4,750.00 !! For some unknown reason, they are unwilling to provide invoices to cover the latter two charges.....Why Not? Why are these additional charges hidden in their Special Conditions and not clearly visible on their website? No wonder this industry has a bad name for ethics

We are very transparent in that we list the fee charged by us of £1,000 inclusive of VAT in our buyers guide available on our website and the conditions of sale which you received a copy of when you agreed to them before participating in the auction. The other fees you are referring to are not associated with ourselves and are paid to the sellers solicitor on completion. We refer you to every single lot page on our website and our buyers guide which clearly states “The seller may charge additional fees payable upon completion. If applicable, such fees are detailed within the special conditions of sale. Buyers are deemed to bid in full knowledge of this.” McHugh & Co.

GoogleMy experience was extremely positive starting with my first phone call to McHugh's. Marino was always very friendly and positive and I had complete confidence that he would handle things professionally. He always kept me in the picture throughout the process, and it is a tribute to his skill that he sold my house during lockdown, with tenants in situ, well within 2 months - and for a very good price.
