GoogleWe purchased a house in Earlsfield which James was selling. Overall the process was incredibly smooth and James was responsive and helpful throughout. Although we were on the purchasing side, I would not hesitate to recommend James and Maalems for any sale / property needs.

GoogleAs a first time buyer, I had no knowledge of how the full process worked and after speaking with a few (pushy and insincere) estate agents I was a little nervous. I found Maalems for the property I have recently purchased and they were absolutely fantastic! I was fortunate to have James as my estate agent and I can't recommend him enough. He was incredibly patient, explained and assisted me through every step and would always get back to me ASAP. He was also very genuine unlike almost all other estate agents I spoke with. I would highly recommend Maalems to anyone looking to buy a house as they are the only estate agent in London that don't treat you like walking dollar sign. A huge thanks to James and the team for the effort and patience you had through the process. Keep up the good work! Ben

GoogleSold my flat though Maalems. James achieved an offer within a few weeks of the flat going on the market. The sale of the leasehold property turned out to be quite complicated, with information needed from the managing agents, freeholder, etc. James was helpful and effective in liaising between myself and my purchaser, our solicitors and the mortgage broker, to keep the transaction moving along. The fee was less than some other local agents quoted, but the service was excellent.

GoogleFantastic estate agents. We recently bought a property through Maaelms and the service was great from start to finish. Alex showed us the property and it was evident he knew a lot about it and the area which was helpful. James was our main point of contact during the purchase and he made sure everything went smoothly. He was very responsive to our requests and questions. I can't thank them enough for making the house buying process so seamless and would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

GoogleDuring the 4 years of our tenancy managed by Maalems we dealt with 5 different agents and 4 of them were great. Then we had to deal with Alex Gibbs and eventually decided to end the tenancy instead of renewing again. He tried to convince us that the landlords want to increase our rent by 20%. For the record, 2 years ago when rents were rocketing the landlords actually agreed to lower our rent slightly for another 2 years... They seemed to be nice. During this years negotiations Alex agreed with us to let our contract run on a monthly rolling basis until we find a new place that's worth the money. However, the contract he then sent to us instead was a one year fixed contract with a two months notice clause, signed by landlords before we even read it. Terms that were very different from what we agreed to on email and very unfavourable to us. When I questioned this, a Maalems director said Alex will clarify this as he was negotiating this case. We never got a reply from Alex to this date, even to the directors email in which he was asked to clarify this. Very unprofessional behaviour from him from start to finish. After not hearing back from them in a while we decided not to renew. In hindsight, this could have been a strategy to get us out of the property sooner so someone else can pay more rent or just one agent being highly unprofessional. Soured a good experience of four years in less than two months.

GoogleI bought a property in Earlsfiled 2 years ago (through Maalems) and have just sold it through Maalems. On both occasions I dealt with James Hallam. He impressed us and our lawyers whilst coordinating negotiations. He and his team were always on top of the detail and were driving the sale properly and professionally. The fees were very reasonable and, from my experience with some larger estate agents in London - the service is unparalleled . If only all estate agents could be like this. I strongly recomend.

GoogleJames was superb with me, in a rather elongated flat purchase that I've just completed through Maalems. He firstly, is a really nice guy, and a pleasure to work with. Secondly, he worked so hard in the background to keep things moving along, and to keep everyone happy. He's incredibly professional and patient, and more than anything, really fair and honest. He's the exact opposite of the negatively stereotyped estate agent in fact. He's not just after a quick £, but really does the right things, in an equitable way, for all parties concerned. I will definitely sell through Maalems, as and when I'm ready to move again. Top man!

GoogleWe purchased our flat with Maalems and James Hallam and his team were amazing. During the process of searching for a house, we encountered agents from most of the agencies across london And James and his team stood out as being one of the most professional agents. They always gave a lot of details about the area and property and were able to answer all our questions, something that most agents lack. Throughout the process, James was always super responsive (answer within one hour) and able to resolve any issue. If we were to sell our property in the future, we will definitely use Maalems and James again.

Started with a rearranged initial first viewing which James was very accommodating of followed up by plenty of support in the offer process as we liked the property. We also managed to exchange/complete in one day once conveyancing was over as well as helping us organize some works for the property. The team were very supportive and responsive at all times. Responded to emails quickly and just generally made the whole process as easy and hassle-free as possible from their side - extremely refreshing given past experience with other 'big name' agents on the high street. GoogleI have just sold my flat with Maalems, James Hallam was my agent, from start to finish I couldn’t have asked for a better agent. He was not pushy in calling my mobile to try to trick me into anything. As a company their prices were the best in Earlsfield which is what drew me to using them, also I did not receive pushy phone calls or pressure from them at any stage. Once I was appointed James as my agent he was prompt in getting the photos taken and the flat up online. There were issues along the way and every time James assisted in providing a prompt response and it was due to trusting his advice with the sale that got the viewings in and the flat sold. GoogleI bought my flat through Maalems and had such a good experience that when it came to selling it a few years later, I was glad to go with them again. And a very good choice it was. I worked with James both times. The advice, constant hard work and partnership approach throughout made the process much smoother and less stressful than it would have been. He was friendly and obliging from the first viewing all the way to the key handover, and kept me regularly updated throughout the process. From start to finish, James was incredibly responsive, always on hand to assist with any queries I had regarding the purchase and managed the relationship between myself and the vendor with great care. Even when my solicitors caused delays, he went above and beyond to provide support and ensure that things moved along smoothly. GoogleWe had James look after us on our first home purchase and the service was seamless from start to finish. Maalems is not like a normal estate agents, we never felt pressured they are friendly, professional and honest. Given that our flat purchase took place during the pandemic and in the extremely busy time of stamp duty holiday, James made sure that neither of these held anything up for us and was always very quick to respond. GoogleWe've worked with James and the team for a few years now, both on the purchase & sale of our property, as well as working with the Lettings team on property management. Having experienced other 'larger' agencies in the area, Maalems approach was much more personal, and made the whole experience much more enjoyable - they really are in a league of their own. Couldn't recommend highly enough!
