Kesha Foss-Smith went above and beyond throughout the entire process and we feel lucky to have dealt with her for our first property purchase, which can be a difficult and stressful process at the best of times. We doubt many people, if anyone, would've gone to the lengths she did for us and are very grateful to her. She was wonderful to deal with, responsive, incredibly helpful and supportive all the way. We would definitely work with her if we wanted to market a property in the area and will be recommending her specifically and John D Wood to all.

TrustpilotWithholding deposit despite contract terms, Avoid.
Terrible experience with the move-out process. Our contract states the deposit must be returned within 10 days. It has been over 20 days and John D Wood still refuse to release it because the landlord "hasn't replied." They are completely passive and take no responsibility for enforcing the contract they signed. We are now having to fight for our deposit through the TDS. Unprofessional and unhelpful.

Not only were John D Wood Abbeville able to get our place on the market quickly, they were the only agent, out of the 4 we interviewed, that had a strategy specifically for our flat. Charley was professional and her level of communication throughout the whole process was really important to us. She managed both us and our buyers well - and made what could have been a really stressful experience quite easy.

GoogleEstate agents generally have a poor reputation amongst us non-estate agents. We don’t quite trust them and don’t like the way they use our first names every time they say something to us. And I have to admit that I’ve felt this way myself, until now. Because I have had to completely change that opinion having experienced the brilliant, patient and honest support we received when buying a house through John D Wood in Abbeville Road, and in particular from the wonderful branch manager Kesha Foss-Smith, who was so lovely, helpful, useful and friendly that we would have asked her to be godmother to one of our children, had they not already had some. From the outset, Kesha was a refreshing change. She didn’t sell at us, or call us all the time. She only showed us a couple of houses that, having spoken to us, she thought we would love. And she was perfectly right. We fell in love with one of them as soon as we came through the front door and offered the next day. Over night, Kesha (and her team of course) proceeded to become so much more than estate agents. She became our effortlessly efficient administrator, legal adviser, trusted source of information and pretty much ‘one of us’. She kept us sane through the long and anxious wait for mortgage approvals and legal documents. She was always there whenever we called. And then when it finally did all go through, she was the first person to congratulate us and even brought a bottle of champagne round, literally brimming with genuine happiness for us. Her smiles were almost as big as our own. So if you, like me, have rather a negative view of estate agents, I suggest you get yourself over to John D Wood on Abbeville Road. It won’t be long before you’ll be changing your views too.

It has been already two days since signing the rent agreement and paying upfront the full rent for a year yet the keys not released. I don't recommend to use JDW's services for real estate rentals. It is a total disaster and frustration. Day 3: The cupboard door is broken and there's no hot water in the house. My disappointment is at its peak. Andrea and Prue, whom I was in contact with during the rental process, unfortunately haven't responded to my calls or messages. They always had an excuse. They haven't inspected the premise once for any defects before renting it.

I had a very positive experience with the team at John D Wood, Wimbledon Village. Although they were acting on behalf of the seller, they were consistently supportive and professional throughout the entire process. From the initial bidding stage through to completion, they helped me navigate each step clearly and efficiently, even with a challenging seller involved. Their communication was excellent, and they made what could have been a stressful experience feel much more manageable. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again, and would certainly consider using them if I were to sell my own property.

We had an excellent experience working with Charlie! From the very beginning, he really took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for, and it showed in every property he recommended. The flats he showed us were spot on, exactly what we had in mind, which made the whole process so much smoother and more enjoyable. Charlie clearly has a great instinct for matching people with the right homes. He’s knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely listens, which made us feel confident we were in good hands. We never felt pressured, just well-guided.

Terrible experience as a buyer, felt scammed by this agency particularly the agent called Fee. I was told various lies to try and drive the price up (which I later found out she was trying to get me to pay a further 100k to the offer they had but led me to believe the other buyer was offering similar) I was also the highest offer and last minute told they had another similar offer. Just a mess and would never go near this agency again.
