John D Wood owns APW, a lettings management company. Having raised a complaint against APW, I was, after a ridiculous amount of badgering, passed to John D Wood. Despite terrible reviews of APW already in place and after providing (several times) a list of 14 significant issues, I was informed they had done nothing wrong. Well, if the service (or lack thereof) I received was ‘fine’, goodness knows what this company thinks is poor service. Absolutely dreadful experience. I share another reviewer's frustration when they said they'd rather give their house away than use these guys again. Truly awful. Please don't use them.

Unprofessional, non-responsive and DO NOT return deposits timely I had a problem slumlord with endless defects in the flat at 4100 a month. Landlord used JDW chelsea/earls court to manage the property. The pod never responded to email to fix anything. After 6 months we agreed to leave and pay less rent. The kid and his colleagues delayed releasing £4700 deposit for 18 days after moving out using any and all excuses until I threatened to file a dispute! Buyer be ware.

GoogleAfter a long and difficult process of flat hunting, dealing with many agents, we found the services provided at John D Wood South Ken office far above the rest. Sadia was very helpful and attentitive making the process quick, efficient and most important for me stress free! I will highly recommend John D Wood to friends and family and defiantly will be using your services in the future.

GoogleAn extremely professional and courteous service from all of the team. George in particular was very helpful throughout the process of our purchase and really stepped up to the plate in the final days ahead of exchange when the going started to get tough. He remained very calm and collected and acted very fairly and openly as the go-between. His advice was solid at all times and my wife and I are highly appreciative of his polite, proactive and efficient modus operandi

Terrible, terrible, terrible.John D Wood Richmond Branch is a nightmare. They are trying to charge for the damages which they were before the tenancy started. Although the first inspection report clearly proves that the damages were there before we enter the house, they still keep trying to charge it.For your sake, I strongly recommend you avoid them.

GoogleJohn D Wood (and in particular Alexandra Cheeseman) were extremely helpful in the process of finding a new flat. After working with several other agents they were able to efficiently help us with putting in an offer, quickly receiving feedback and finalising the contract. Very pleasant and professional people to work with. I would highly recommend using John D Wood in the South Ken/Earls Court area.

My overall experience with the John D Wood team was excellent! I have dealt with Millie Finch and Kate Smith and they were both super helpful and nice! What I really appreciated it was the quick responsiveness on their side every time I had a question/query. I would gladly work with them in the future!

GoogleJD Wood had tried unsuccessfully to let my flat at the start of the year. We then agreed for them to take it off the market while I did holiday let's and put it back on the market in September. They just got hold of me to ask if I had any gaps to show people around. I replied giving them dates but saying I wasn't aware of them having it on the market. They replied saying it was just on the internal website. This I found out to be untrue as it was also on rightmove and had never been taken off. It was on the last page as by now very stale. For a flat that had never had a void and is letting very well on short let's it's not very good to of not had any show arounds till now for several months when it was meant to be off the market. I won't be using JD Wood in the future.

GoogleSeveral people at JD Wood Gloucester Road offices have given thoroughly professional service over several years finding good quality tenants for my properties.Their knowledge of the distinctive features of my apartments has made the difference. They are friendly and discuss the results of viewings with me, passing along information about what tenants are looking for, resulting in good marketing which saves time for everyone. They are good at matching requirements to what is on offer. Highly recommended.

TrustpilotUntrustworthy and intimidating tactics
While it may work for some, I found the approach and behaviour of the Wandsworth JDW sales team truly abhorrent. Their wrongdoings range from the way they spoke to my husband and I right through to their sales and negotiation tactics. They frequently made (incorrect) assumptions and comments about our lifestyle and finances and throughout the purchase tried to belittle and patronise us so we followed their instructions rather than listened to our solicitor. They nothing short of used intimidation tactics and baseless threats to make us jump for their every wish. They lied in the details of selling the house, both in writing and verbally; accepted offers but broke the terms of the offers with no communication or regard that this was incorrect behaviour; and when we were finally at the end of negotiations and all paperwork ready to exchange and complete, they started upon new tales and demands trying to threaten the chain breaking if we did not comply. We’ve fed back directly to the agents involved and while sales behaviours are a common part of society, we both felt this was way over the line of acceptable behaviour. In this area of London, with this amount of money being spent in such a lovely community and neighbourhood, my husband and I were truly appalled by their style and have never come across other agents like it. We won’t be using them in the future and sadly, even if it is just this branch, our trust in the whole JDW organisation has been tainted by this truly stressful and frankly bullying experience. I can only hope our feedback is considered and agents reflect upon their handling so they do not continue to treat people this way.

As a landlord, I cannot recommend this agency. They have high staff turnover, are extremely disorganized, blatantly mis-inform, and oversee shoddy maintenance. The experience from the POV of the tenant seems to be just as poor. The sales team blatantly over-promises, then the landlord is left trying to understand why they are on the hook for things they explicitly did not agree to. Really a horrible experience all around.

He has progressed in that organisation as sort of managing our property at the time in SW7 to a more management role, but nevertheless answered lots of strange phone calls from us when we needed things sorted.
