Extremely variable service. Caroline is lovely. But on two occasions, another staff member gave me inaccurate info - first failing to inform me my chain had collapsed, then wrongly telling me the bottom of the chain had exchanged. Either they were lying, or they were passing on info they should have checked much more thoroughly. They also gave me inaccurate info when a problem arose in the chain, and advised me that there was no hope of rescuing the sale. Eventually I built the communications channels that they should have had, and stood the chain back up myself. A bad experience.

I have bought a few properties through Caroline Rollins, (we first started working with her when this branch was known as James Alexander). Caroline Rollins is a great Estate Agent and for me is one of the best in the business, she is very friendly, knows the market, straight forward, helpful and will always keep us updated through the process of the numerous properties that we have purchased through her. To be honest Caroline is a asset to the company and I personally will only work with her when I'm looking to buy in the area because of her vast knowledge of the area and her excellent professionaliism.

We had our property extensively refurbished in order to ready it for potential tenants with the whole process overseen by Nicole Borzatti. As we were out of the country while the work was undertaken we were grateful for Nicole’s commitment and inspiring suggestions. She promised us weekly updates with photos and was good to her word. The work was completed on time and so competently and beautifully done that we attracted a tenant on the first day of viewing. If you have a property that needs to be refurbished I would readily recommend the service offered. Not having a personal Google account, I, Elizabeth, am using my husband’s to write this review. I cannot speak highly enough of Ken Hume and James Alexander Estate agents. On telephoning the office this morning, I learned that Ken has recently retired, so I wish him a very happy and healthy retirement. He and Caroline were not only exceptionally efficient and professional but also friendly, thoughtful and helpful. Ken kindly valued our house, which my grandfather had built and which we rented out, and provided an up-to-date EPC. Although we did not need their services to sell the house as the family of our tenants bought it, this did not diminish the kindness, care and excellence graciously shown to us. I highly recommend this estate agent, knowing that, like us, those who use it will greatly appreciate its services.

At our very first meeting at the property, it was obvious that Ken brought a lifetime of experience dealing with the Norbury property market. Ken laid out our options openly in a clear and concise matter. It quickly became obvious that auction was the best course of action for our situation. Ken and his team guided us through the entire process and a successful sale at above our market value expectations quickly followed. Caroline and the team went out of their way to be warm, friendly and helpful throughout the process of buying our property. Communication was great and we received regular updates on how the sale was progressing. They even gave us tips on how to sell our house although it was (unfortunately) listed with a larger more corporate estate agent. If I ever move again, I would definitely choose James Alexander to sell our house. I regret choosing and being locked down by a larger estate agency as they promised the world and under-delivered. From their first visit to the house the staff at James Alexander have been a delight to work with. Their initial estimate felt realistic and was backed up by actual sale prices. Photos were excellent and the selling price was cleverly worded as 'offers over'. Within 2 days of going on the market we had 10 viewings and 6 offers, most of them considerably above the named price. The subsequent sale to the highest bidder moved smoothly to exchange and completion. Staff were both friendly and efficient, if one was away another member of staff was always available to clear up queries. Highly recommended.

When I entered the offices, I was introduced to the team - not an individual. This really struck me as it felt that I was being supported by a TEAM and not just one person.
