We recently conducted a few market appraisals for a small and unassuming property for rental. We met with three agents and Harmit stood out far beyond the others whilst also being the most expensive. However this didn’t matter as you apparently get what you pay for and we could not have been more impressed. From the get go, right until the tenant moved in, his professionalism, attention to detail and delivery of what was promised was second to none and I would highly recommend them again and again. Thanks Harmit, you have restored my faith in a world where Estate Agents just tell you the highest price to get you on board and then ask you to reduce it two weeks later.

Landlords! stay away at all costs! I chose Foxtons because I expected a professional service from a company that’s been in the industry for so many years. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I used them to rent out my property, and when my tenants wanted to renew their tenancy, Foxtons suddenly became very proactive. I received calls and emails 2-3 times a week encouraging me to sign the renewal. I was told I’d receive all the necessary paperwork before the new tenancy began, including the renewal agreement, a breakdown of the fees, and confirmation of what I would be paying. Guess what I received? Absolutely nothing. To make matters worse, my monthly rental income never arrived. When I contacted Tom Chandler- the same person who had been calling and emailing me repeatedly and promising all the paperwork-his entire response was a single line: “The fee has been taken.” What fee? How much was it? Why was it taken? Where is my rental income? There was no explanation whatsoever. I’ve been emailing for over a week asking for clarification and have received no meaningful response. The communication completely disappeared the moment they had taken their money. The service has been appalling. They seem far more interested in collecting fees than providing the service they’re paid for. As a landlord, I expected transparency, professionalism, and basic communication. Instead, I received none of those. I will never use Foxtons again and would strongly advise other landlords to think twice before trusting them with their property.

The worst agency ever to work with!!! I have started renting with Foxtons in November 2023. I have started to discover that there is a lie after lie after lie. First they sold an apartment saying: You have 2 aircons one in bedroom the other one in living room making it a perfect summer friendly space when it gets warm. (A/C were defective and my landlady told me it would cost £20,000 for them to work which she is not willing to pay). The property happens to be managed by landlord who lives on the same floor of the same building (NIGHTMARE)!!! All of my communication with them was discussed with the landlord behind my back which resulted in me being confronted by my landlord. Complaints were not addressed properly. Came back after 2 months stating they could not find a reason for my complaint!!!! And now, CHERRY ON THE CAKE BEING THEY COMPLETELY IGNORE ME in releasing my deposit. No response for a week. Although an ADR claim has been submitted for disputed amount, the undisputed amount should be returned without any delay!!!! That's a shameee and never again!

I have never experienced such a lack of humanity from a property agency. Foxtons knew our exact circumstances from the beginning. They knew we had to leave our existing home, that my wife was in the late stages of pregnancy and that we had a one-year-old child. They told us that the landlord had signed the agreement. They confirmed that the property would be professionally cleaned. They accepted our deposit and requested the first month’s rent, which we paid immediately. Everything they told us indicated that we could proceed with our move. Then, when we were expecting the keys, the communication stopped. Calls, emails and WhatsApp messages were ignored. We were eventually told that the confirmation of the landlord’s signature was only an “automatic” notification. When we went to the office for answers, Mohammad Hameede avoided speaking to us. Tajammul Hussain told us on camera that they could take two weeks to respond. Two weeks, while a pregnant woman and a small child had been left without certainty about their accommodation. Mistakes can happen. What is unforgivable is taking people’s money, allowing them to organise their entire move and then treating them as though their family’s situation does not matter. Foxtons did not simply make an administrative error. They abandoned our family to deal with the consequences. I would never recommend them.

BOARDER LINE CRIMINAL COMPANY! I highly advise people do not use Foxtons!! They have made renting very very difficult for us and I couldn't be more happy to now be with a different estate agents who made the whole moving process so much easier. Jan Taylor was an awful property manager who rarely got our issues sorted and set out to have an argument with us, regularly shouting down the phone at as when we had issues and she hadn’t done her job. When our tenancy came to an end through a no fault eviction in which Foxtons hid from us that the the landlord was in legal disputes whilst allowing us to renew the tenancy for what we thought was a further 2 years, we were then told a month later we must vacate the property due to their licensing issues. Foxtons tried to “assist” with finding us a new property and put us in contact with Ben. He was nothing short of harassing, having told him we did not want to rent with Foxtons due to our bad experiences he insisted on trying to find us properties. The properties he did send were well over our budget and nothing like what we wanted. I told him many times that we did not want to be with Foxtons and had already found a property but yet continued to message me, this resulted in me having to block him. I could continue for a lot longer about how awful Foxtons are but this is already long enough. I repeat do not use Foxtons!!

We had an excellent experience renting with Foxtons! The entire process was smooth and professional, thanks to the incredible support from our agent. He was patient, communicative, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything went perfectly for us. Our agent worked hard to secure a fair rental agreement, including a 3-year extension with flexible terms that suited our needs. He also made sure to clarify all the details and addressed any questions we had promptly. The entire process, from negotiation to signing the contract, was seamless and stress-free.

Today (12/12/25) at around 09:30 on the M4, one of your drivers driving a Mini, registration LS73 GXC, was continuously using his mobile phone while driving and hogging the middle lane. Once he finished using his phone, his driving became even more concerning. Despite the speed being reduced to 40 mph, he began driving aggressively, flashing other drivers to move faster, and also attempted to undertake other vehicles. His behaviour was reckless and extremely dangerous. Given that this vehicle is displaying full company branding, this reflects very poorly on your business. If you employ drivers like this, it may be worth reconsidering allowing them to operate company-branded vehicles, as it presents a serious risk to public safety and your company’s reputation. I truly wish I had dash cam footage, as I would have reported this incident directly to the police. I hope this matter is taken seriously.

Worst Agent I’ve seen!!!!!!Totally a scam. Rent a flat which is terrible. When I moved in, it’s dirty and there full of Landlord’s personal item like towels and bedsheet and socks. For the first whole month, there is no hot water at all. The boiler has been leaking for 6 months. The dishwasher has been broken for 3 months. The property manger Rebecca Booton was ignoring all issues and never able to be reached. Advice: if you’d like to live a happy life, never rent any property from here.

Garbage real estate agency. They show all kindness until the contract is signed, but after the contract is signed, they stop working at all. At least Koreans, don't work with this company. If any problems arise in the house I live in, they are not handled properly. They only respond via email based on what is advantageous in the contract, and they never deal with complaints with sincerity. It's a dirty company that only collects trash. Better go somewhere else.

We moved out from the property by end of July and accepted the requested deduction from our deposit even we think that it is unfair. However, after 2+ month we still couldn't get remaining deposit back. Process is extremely slow Lastly, 4 weeks ago we have been told that we would receive deposit in 5-7 days but still could't get it.

Mrs Chughtai behaviour was completely out touch, out of order and truly reprehensible. It caused unnecessary stress to our collaborators. Needless to say that we will go elsewhere to manage and commercialise our properties moving forwards.

I worked with Charles Okwuosa as part of the concierge service. I have to say, it was an excellent experience, Charles was on the ball from the get go. He was always available for calls, he did all the research work for me to find the right contractor for the clean up. He took the work very personally and was extremely compassionate about the situation. You are a legend Charles!!

We had a fantastic experience with Foxtons and BidX1 Lewis Austin and Paul Ferris were fantastic from start to finish. They stopped at nothing to help us get over the line. Were helpful, responsive, even on their day off. They are a real credit to Foxtons. We are very grateful indeed

Do not be fooled by the corporate image. The Foxtons team were awesome. I’ll try not to make the experience sound too good, however, my house was on the market for approximately two years with three local agents at price ranges from offers above £999,999 to £1200000.. Foxtons’ approach was clear and simple. We had an open day resulting in 10 viewings & 3 offers and together Saijal (the manager) and I chose what was the best buyer for me. Edward, the sales negotiator, gave me regular updates and helped in accommodating requests from the buyer which we adhered to. From start to finish I felt I was in safe hands which was not the case with other agents. I would recommend Saijal, Edward and Foxtons to anyone who want a professional service. Highly recommended.

Foxtons is very helpful when you want to rent from them (=give them money), but it pretty much stops there. Property management depends completely on the person who manages your property. During a 7-year tenancy, we had 5-6 different property managers, 2 of them good, rest of them an absolute mess. The good ones actually responded to emails/calls, and got things fixed. The bad ones did not know how to communicate at all, left us hanging for a week with a massive leak from out kitchen ceiling that affected our electrics and made the lamp flicker like crazy. No response, no help, just a dark kitchen with a bucket on the floor. So it really depends if you are lucky enough to get a property manager who cares at all. The fact that we had a different person almost every year says something about Foxtons as a company, if their staff turnover is so big. And now, when we wanted to leave the flat... what a nightmare!! We sent a written termination of tenancy to Foxtons, and nothing happened for about 4 weeks. Then suddenly, our phones started ringing constantly. They wanted to book about 5 visits/week to our flat, either for market value estimation, photography, general check, viewings for different people etc. This would have probably been fine last year (although annoying), but now, during coronavirus times I found this completely unacceptable. I understand that these need to be done, but there are ways to make it safe for everyone. There was not the slightest try from Foxtons to arrange as little visits as possible (e.g. do photography and other stuff on the same visit). They also kept calling us with less than 10h notice that they wanted to bring someone to view the flat. When I raised this issue via email, that I do not think it's right to bring strangers into our home multiple times a week every week until we leave during a global pandemic, and asking if they could for example arrange one viewing day/week and bring the people in stages, they called my husband to ask "what exactly is the problem here". They basically ignored me completely, did not respond and called my husband to try to sort the matter out. We were also sent multiple emails with wrong information, for example wrong dates and times for Check-out reports. When we emailed back to ask is this wrong, we never got a response. And then there's issues with deposit, of course. MyFoxtons portal asks for the tenant to wait and that the deposit will usually be returned about 10 days after the vacate date. We waited, and then emailed about 2 weeks later when there was no communication. We received an email apologising for the delay (blaming coronavirus lock down of course, even though they can easily work from home during a lock down), saying that we should get an update by then of the week (it was Wednesday). Another 2 weeks passed, and no information. I sent another email, another week passed and no response. I sent another email, and then finally, 6 weeks after the vacate date we received information stating that there will be deductions on our deposit (also wrongly held for a clean we are not obligated to pay, as we were not provided a clean when moving in). We disputed it, and had to wait for 12 days again before we got a response, that actually did not respond to any of our complaints, just said that the comments have been passed to the landlord, which I already knew. The non-disputed part of the deposit has now been returned, 2 MONTHS LATER, but no news at all for the disputed part that is still held by Foxtons. I think this is all absolutely disgusting, they are very keen on getting you in their flats and taking your money, but when it comes to helping the tenant or respecting their rights when they want to leave, the customer service is non-existent. We were their tenants for 7 years (not sure why) always paid our rent on time and never cause any kind of trouble, and get treated like this. Avoid their flashy lights they put up when you're looking for a home, it only goes downhill from there.

We had a fantastic experience working with Foxton while in the process of purchasing our house. They are very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Archie was excellent. He knows the area very well and was professional at all times. From start to finish, he is always available and always communicated very promptly with all relevant information. Would definitely recommed to anyone who's looking to buy a property.

I usually share positive experiences on social media, but I do believe that customers should share both kind of experiences after what we suffered with Foxtons so that no one gets frustrated like we did. In brief, we approached Foxtons from overseas to rent an apartment for 3 months and we have chosen the apartment/flat after viewing the online images on their website/app which happened to be photoshopped even though we have communicated with a sales agent “Alex” who handed over the keys at Foxtons Brixton office claiming that she viewed the flat before handing over the keys. We were shocked when we arrived to the apartment/flat as it was not cleaned professionally (to be accurate Dirty) and the Mattress was uncovered with big stains on it not to mention too many things needed Maintenence from the kitchen (water tap leakage, dismantled wooden parts broken tiles) to the fridge where the freezer door was broken as well as the toilet/loo shower temperature regulator was not working and the shower hose leakage plus the stains on the carpet to burn lamps and so on... horrible! As per the agreement/contract Foxtons & the landlord were supposed to secure WiFi connection in the flat but they didn’t so after getting an approval from the landlord we purchased WiFi for 3 months from Vodafone UK and the amount was Not refunded. Also before you leave the apartment you should get a professional cleaning company which we did but because we did not get the cleaning company via Foxtons they deducted £240 for one bedroom flat! Cherry on top of the cake, Foxtons sent an email claiming that there were some damages that didn’t exist when we handed over the keys and deducted the deposit! Foxtons do not respond to your emails promptly when there is anything related to Maintanance or deposit refund but when they need a payment they follow up all the time. Everyone should be careful when dealing with Foxtons as they do NOT return your deposit as per the contract and email communications. Worst experience with a real estate agency we’ve ever had. I personally do NOT Recommend them at all very unprofessional & dishonest. #Foxtons #Foxtonslondon

Potential Landlords please be warned, stay well away from this company. We have been dealing with their completely inept lettings department for the past 15 months and have encountered no end of problems. They fail to communicate on every level. Apparently our tenants are moving out in December (we got told this by the tenant directly) no one from Foxtons has bothered to let us know. Been trying to contact our property manager for well over a week with emails and calls. Cannot get one returned call or email. Rent for this month is unpaid due to Foxtons not having emailed the tenants the payment link (tenant more than happy to pay the rent directly to us, thankfully). Just tried calling Head office to speak to an make a complaint to a James Stephenson and got told he won't come to the phone and put anything in writing. Stay well clear of this company, there are some actual letting agents out there that do provide a service. Choose one of them.

I have never left a negative review in my life but for this I have to.. AVOID RENTING WITH FOXTONS AT ALL COSTS. I have been renting a property in Brixton for the past year and reported mould issues 4 months ago (20th May 2024) and to this day (27/08/2024) nothing has been done to rectify it. We have been back and fourth with property management (even crying down the phone) and they are still not letting us move out until we finish the tenancy length (2 year tenancy agreement). The flat is a basement flat and the bathroom doesn't have a window or an extractor fan which we informed foxtons was illegal to which they breezed over and OF COURSE haven't done anything about. We are now living in mould and seeking legal action to try and get out of our tenancy as Foxtons have told us on 3 occasions we have to find someone to replace it if we want to go. As you can see from the photos nobody should be living in these conditions. Every time we ring, our account manager is 'in a meeting' they take days/weeks to respond to a question. In regards to getting something fixed..we are yet to have one issue in our flat/tenancy fixed. If I could leave 0 stars, I would.

My experience with Foxtons as a first time buyer has been absolutely horrible. After a lot of searching around we finally reserved a property in hounslow by the builder bath road homes Ltd, the agents name was Siyana. After reservation, we went on to complete all formalities. Applied for help to buy and also had it approved. We were now in process of applying for the mortgage. And it was then that I get a call from Foxtons that the reservation is being pulled back saying the seller found another person who has offer a higher sum. And this call comes from the manager of Siyana. I didn’t even receive a single call from Siyana. And the funny part is that this property is still on the market. We were put through the whole process of buying this property and then told we can’t have it. As a first time buyer, this is soo discouraging. Never go to Foxtons if you’re a first time buyer especially. You won’t be looked after.
