Avoid them at any cost, I would give them 0 Star if i could - My experience, even as a landlord, with the Foxtons Chelsea team, specifically James Young and Anna Reis, has been extremely frustrating from start to finish and remains unresolved. From the outset, the whole process was chaotic. There were too many agents involved with no coordination, constantly contacting me without clear communication between themselves (I can easily name more than 20 people contacting me within a timeframe of 2, 3 weeks). It felt like there was no proper management or control within the team. The tenancy process was poorly handled. A tenant was secured on a Friday afternoon, and I was given less than 24 hours to review and agree to terms that had already been discussed with the tenant, including a 24-month agreement, despite my clear instruction for a 12-month tenancy. Although this was eventually corrected, it created unnecessary pressure and wasted time. To make matters worse, the tenant’s move-in was agreed for the following Monday without my proper approval, forcing me into a rushed situation to review legal documents. Looking back, it feels as though this was done in a way that limited my ability to properly review the agreement and question certain clauses. After signing, I identified clauses that were not properly explained and, in my experience, are not standard practice compared to other agencies I have worked with. This included the automatic deduction of a 12-month fee despite a 6-month break clause, which is misleading and commercially unfair. Despite raising these concerns and escalating to senior management, I have now been waiting over 10 days with no proper response, communication has been slow, unclear, and ineffective throughout. On top of that, my deposit has still not been transferred, yet I was instructed to complete TDS registration before receiving the funds, which is not practically workable unless you chect the TDS platform by chosing wrong date . A promised incentive discount, which was a key factor in choosing Foxtons, has also not been reflected in the invoice and has required repeated chasing, this is still ongoing. Overall, this has been a very poor experience. The lack of professionalism, transparency, and accountability is striking. As a landlord, you are made to feel as though you have no control, while the agency behaves as if it owns the process, and your property. I would strongly advise landlords and even tenants alike to avoid this office.

James Young was by far the best agent I dealt with in London. He was the only one who started looking for apartments for me early, even though my move-in date was still far away. He’s super dedicated, available, and really takes the time to understand what you want. You can genuinely trust him 100% with your search, he does everything he can to match your criteria and guides you clearly through the whole process. Plus, he’s just great to deal with on a human level, which makes a big difference.

Anne Battumur is truly exceptional at what she does. Not just in understanding her clients' needs, but in recognising the emotions and apprehension that come with buying a first home. She took the time to understand us as people, listened to our future plans, and guided us towards a flat we could genuinely grow into. Throughout the entire process, from finding the right property to completion, she was always available, proactive, and thorough. Anne has a rare combination of qualities that are hard to find in a single agent: the drive and market savvy to secure an offer in as competitive a city as London, the negotiating skill to make all parties feel like they've won, and the warmth and empathy to navigate the inevitable delays and uncertainties of closing a transaction. She made what can be a daunting experience feel manageable and even enjoyable. I cannot recommend her highly enough, and I have no doubt she has an outstanding career ahead of her.

The process was smooth and seamless, which made what can often be a stressful time feel easy and well organised. A special shoutout to Jack Cuthbert, who was incredibly helpful throughout. He took us to multiple viewings, was always friendly and approachable, and really took the time to help us find the right place. His ongoing support and communication made a big difference, and thanks to his help we were eventually able to find the perfect flat!

If there was a lower grade of star, we would certainly give this agency in tenancy. We are now contacting solicitors. The agency gave us a flat in Nell Gwenn House in Sloane square. The matress was stained and the appartment dirty. We paid 150 pounds professional cleaner to clean this. There was no inventory taken. We sent photos to the agency with no reply. We go away for more than 7 days and the flat was empty, during a hot spell on return, we saw infestation of bed bugs (they had hidden during cold months and resurfaced as adults in hot spell). We contacted the agency who claimed it was our responsibility. As it happens, we have a member of family with an expertise in the life cycle of bed bugs as medical doctor. We wrote to prove the problem pre-dated the tenancy. It took 3 weeks for them to send a pest service, dynopest and we found out on the third week, they had sent it to the wrong flat. They promised at the cost of the landlady to get rid of the bed and sofa, again this turned out to be a false promise. They made us pay 600 to get rid of furniture and for us to buy the bed frame.. We asked for the report and nothing came through, 3 weeks out of the flat and the false claim of treating the bed bug with steam and we go back to a new bed we have bought and what do we discover? bed bugs. Foxton has not only been EXTREMELY slow with communication, they have miscommunicated and in effect lied and brought sub standard services to deal with this. PLEASE do not rent in Nell Gwynn House specially with Foxtons, you life will be ruined as ours has!

Our experience with Foxtons Sloane Square was nothing short of a nightmare. From start to finish, we were left in the dark, with abysmal communication and a complete lack of transparency. The move-out process was a disaster. We were tossed between clueless agents who clearly didn’t have a handle on our tenancy. Just when we thought it couldn’t get worse, they slapped us with hidden charges like a "landlord’s commission refund" that we were never informed about. Even after we moved out, the incompetence continued. We were repeatedly promised updates on our deposit, but those never came through. It was like talking to a brick wall. Foxtons Sloane Square made the entire rental experience far more stressful than it ever should have been. If you’re looking for an agency that actually values its clients, look elsewhere. This was a masterclass in how not to run a business.

We had the pleasure of working with Alistair Duncan St-Barbe in the purchase of our London apartment. We cannot recommend Alistair enough he was so accommodating and helpful in the process. Alistair was really flexible, allowing us the opportunity to see the apartment on multiple occasions and was incredibly gracious while we measured and brainstormed ideas. If you’re looking for an apartment or a new home in London my highest recommendation would be to contact Alistair and have him help you with what can be a stressful process. From the moment I met him I knew he was the one for the job in finding me the perfect flat after having frustrating experiences with previous agents from other firms.
