Uncompromising, bullying behaviour

I'm not usually one to complain, and even as I write this I'm still inclined not to give a 1 star review because I would hate to undermine the positive aspects of the service we have received at Felicity J Lord. However the way we've been treated has been nothing short of discompassionate and unfair.We were moved in an apartment which had not been cleaned - it was absolutely filthy - if it was possible to post photos to this review I would. The previous tenants things were still in the apartment and because we collected the keys on a Saturday nobody at the branch answered the phone despite their opening times suggesting someone should still be in the office. We even stopped by, but they were shut.A cleaner was eventually sent out part-way through day three, but by this time we had been expected to live in an apartment that was honestly not fit for human habitation for more than 48 hours.Despite Felicity J Lord admitting fault, we have been sent increasingly threatening arrears letters for the three days of rent which we have refused to pay due to a breach of contract.I have written this review in part as a warning of the practises of the letting agent which have the ability to impact not only tenants, but also landlords, and in part as an open letter to the management of the company to draw attention to the poor customer service and lack of attention paid during this whole process.I mentioned at the start of this email that there were good aspects and I do still want to highlight these. Until this fiasco, communication had been pretty good, with nothing to fault of the service. The online referencing tool was easy to use and emails were responded to efficiently.I was also impressed with how things were initially handled after the weekend, upon their discovering that we had been handed over a disgusting apartment, which was why the follow-up correspondence was so disappointing.

Appalling incompetence @ Stoke newington

Appalling incompetence by Shannon Steadman and Travis Knight at the Stoke newington office. Their client was the bottom rung in a house sale chain involving our property. An offer was in place for 6 months on the property they were selling. The week exchange was meant to happen… it turned out the buyer FJ Lord had told everyone in the chain was in rental and so chain free… actually had a property to sell. Sure, why check how your buyer is finding the deposit? Either they failed basic due diligence, or they knew all along and lied to everyone. Of course when all the other agents and properties in the chain went ballistic at them, it couldn’t possibly have been their fault. Will they compensate anyone for the lost hours and expenditure if the chain now falls apart…Edit - have emailed them as they suggested. No answer.

The work of Martin and Danielle on the sale of my flat has been exceptional throughout. From getting myself and my wife a price for the property well beyond our initial expectations to the service throughout the sale process Martin and Danielle have been superb. Felicity J Lord came highly recommended to me by a neighbour who has used their letting services for years. From the outset, I was very impressed with the high level of service from the manager David McCooke (this was in sharp contrast to another local lettings agent who visited my property and was sneering and patronising.) David and his team (especially Anett) worked extremely hard to find the right tenants for my flat, they provided regular feedback and negotiated effectivley and fairly for all concerned. At all times they were polite, positive and always responded to emails very promptly. On the paperwork side, the documentation was explained and prepared thoroughly. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have found this company and although this is still early days in terms of my Let, I would recommend David and his team as exemplary in their profession.

Just liars and typical sales tactics!

They advertise properties at one price and give a sales pitch about the landlord accepting profiles however just go with the highest offer. I went to view a property that I fell in love with and put in a significantly high offer which was accepted straight away. After getting miscommunication about the bills, I reduced my offer at the sales agents advice and the landlord accepted the next highest offer. The sales agents do not call you back when it has no benefit to them and the advice they give on properties are incorrect! Very disappointed as I lost out on a wonderful property.
