I saw the house I wanted- the type that doesn't come on market often. I needed to sell my home. Greg and the rest of the team arranged this. No sweat. No marketing jargon, no schpeal. Normal honest information- that's what I liked about Greg's approach. A swiftly arranged mortgage by Will and within 2 weeks the houses had been bought and sold. 2 weeks?! That's awesome! I'll be calling into the Woodford branch for a valuation very soon.

First viewing- estate agent forgot to turn up. Had to show the people round myself even though I felt ill. Second viewing- they sent round a new estate agent that we hadn't met or who hasn't seen the house before. Did most of the talking as the new agent didn't know anything about my house. Also promised that we would receive constant updates and alerts on new properties however we haven't had one phone call in nearly 2 weeks.

We understand that the Branch Manager visited you to apologise and explain how this regrettable situation occurred. The member of staff who conducted your second viewing was unable to view your property first, due to prior diary commitments however he had familiarised himself by reading the brochure and speaking to staff who had seen the property to be able to answer any normal questions. As you were present, the viewer naturally directed some questions to you as the owner, however our member of staff also answered questions and accompanied them around the property. We confirm that you are registered with Douglas Allen as a prospective purchaser however in the last couple of weeks, there have been no new properties to the market, matching your property preferences. Please be assured that as soon as we commence marketing a property that matches your criteria, we will contact you. In the meantime, we can assure you that we are very much committed to selling your property and identifying your dream home to purchase and we hope that our staff are able to positively demonstrate this to you in the very near future. In my honest opinion, the female expeditor was indeed effective, efficient and extremely personable! The trouble with Douglas Allen is that the glossy front-end marketing is let down, extremely badly... a glossy front end magazine with a sub-standard editiorial! If this organisation wishes to progress, it would be better served by observing the expeditor closely, to fully comprehend the meaning of Servitium Qualitas!!! or better still, familarise themselves with the teachings of Tomas Peters: In Search of Excellence!!

As first time buyers buying from someone purchasing a new build, we thought a chain free transaction would have gone quite smoothly. Lots of hiccups happened along the way (solicitors, construction company) regardless, but never from Douglas Allen.
