We previously tried to sell our house with an alternate agency for over a year. Moving to Dexter's was such a good decision. The team did a great job keeping us updated and putting through lots of viewings. They were very kind and understanding about our situation having just had a new baby and how stressful everything was. And ultimately they got the sale over the line at the price we were happy with. I spent last Saturday going on several viewing appointments with a few different Estate Agents throughout London, and despite only spending 20 minutes with Georgie Ward, I can equivocally say she was by far, the best agent I saw. She pitched the viewing at exactly the right note which I really appreciated. She was professional and informed but most of all incredibly friendly and interested in my partner and my requirements. She also didn’t make us feel rushed or tried to power sell the property she allowed us time to take everything in and come to our own conclusions. She read the room very well and this is a skill Estate Agents often lack in my experience. There was also a trainee on our appointment who was also very charming. I wanted to share this info as It’s important to let good people know they have done a sterling job.

We had an extremely disappointing experience with Dexters. They were very convincing when securing us as tenants, but the moment management responsibilities began, everything fell apart. Our rental experience was consistently stressful, disorganized, and frankly unacceptable, we would not recommend them to anyone. From day one, things went wrong. In our first week, we were given no notice of major construction works scheduled in our flat. We had even asked in advance and were explicitly told nothing was planned. Instead, we were woken at 8am by contractors arriving unannounced to change our door, locks, and carry out disruptive work that lasted a full week. Trying to live and work through that was incredibly stressful. We were also wrongly pressured into taking on responsibilities (like weekly fire alarm testing) that were not part of our contract or legal obligations. It took significant effort and independent research on our side just to get the agency to admit this. Communication throughout the tenancy was chaotic: - Constantly dealing with new agents who had no knowledge of previous conversations - Repeated, unnecessary key checks (four separate requests in a short time) - Inspections duplicated or rebooked despite already being completed - Requests for photos and unattended access that were never agreed in the contract - Persistent assumptions they could enter the property without proper consent It genuinely felt like talking to a revolving door of people who never checked tenant records. When it came to matters affecting us, like the deposit return, the team suddenly became slow and evasive. Charges appeared without proper justification, then changed when challenged, often backed by weak or unclear evidence. The final straw: we asked three months in advance to renew our tenancy. We were told they wouldn’t even contact the landlord until one month before expiry. Naturally, we started looking elsewhere, only for them to come back later demanding a decision within 24 hours. Completely unprofessional. Overall, this was one of the most frustrating rental experiences we’ve had. Poor communication, lack of transparency, and zero accountability. Avoid if you can.
