I would like to begin by saying that Doug was great! He came in towards the end of the process and made it less stressful and was very friendly and personable at every stage, we wish we had him from the start, so this is no way a reflection on him!! However, unfortunately our experience was soured earlier on in the process of our purchase by another agent, Asiah. We are very aware that estate agents work on behalf of both the seller, and those buying the property, and they just have to relay information passed on by the seller. However, the way in which Asiah communicated with us made the process quite frankly awful. Asiah never bothered to do her research properly before calling us constantly threatening to put the property back on the market and pull it from us despite the fact that the reason for us not being able to provide documentation, or money on both occasions were the sellers fault. After these phone calls, she would send emails after apologising and stating that she was under pressure and her workload was too high (something that is not our fault!!). We asked her on multiple occasions to stop calling us and communicate through our solicitor because we did not have the information she needed. I also asked her to solely communicate through my partner because I could not take calls at work. She ignored both and continued to call. We were also told that we should pay more money to expedite processes, and when we pushed back on this, she said we would lose money anyway so why would it matter. As first time buyers, this process was upsetting and disappointing. Thank you Doug for making it better!

Doing it right because they have good people

I have always had great service from Conran's. The agent I used to deal with has retired, and I was a bit concerned that her replacement might not be as efficient, capable and friendly as Georgina was. Nothing to worry about, Debbie is fantastic and so going forward I will continue to be in capable hands. There are some truly terrible estate agents out there, thank heavens for Conrans who are showing the others how it should be done.

Disloyal , Sexist , and to be avoided

I have already written a review about my experience with Conran but it was taken down as it named names. I feel it is my duty as a member the public to bring to attention the things that agents will do in order to gain busiiness. I rented out 2 houses with Conran for a number of years , I was known to them and I alone owned the property. In July this year an ex of over 8 years went into Conrans and asked a senior member of staff to value my house that I currently live in. He I suspect was given a figure that the Ex wanted and duly emailed him a low valuation of my house which he had never been in. I called the agent who is a notorious figure in this area and asked him why he felt he was able to do this . He replied that he thought that the ex owned half of my property. I know that an agent is supposed to carry out due diligence and the first thing they should do is look at a the title deed to see who owns the property.This agent even though he knew me and my contact details were on file did not bother and just saw the pound signs. I also think he is sexist and wonder if I as a woman just wandered in off the street and asked for a valuation of a property with no proof of ownership how he would respond. What this agent has done is caused a lot of problems and damage to me. When I called the office to confront him about his actions he tried to put the phone down on me. What the public needs to know about agents is they need no qualifications to value property and in my experience will say pretty much anything to gain business. You may think they are regulated and have some sort of redress for problems such as these but think again. The property Ombudsman is inundated with complaints about this racket and will do very little to help you. Conran have been disloyal and acted only in they're interests . I have not received an apology all they have done is taken down my last review which was too specific. There top priority is to protect themselves. Make sure before you embark on buying and selling that you have done your research . I cannot recommend this agent as they have acted in such an appalling way and know they can get away with it. I also note that they are happy for names to appear in good reviews , yet another example of double standards. Estate agents of this caliber are no better than used car dealers so beware.
