Cavendish Lodge, Glastonbury. A great place to live and work.

I’ve worked at Cavendish Lodge as a contractor since it was opened in 2006 and have to say it is one of the best retirement homes in the area. Plenty of activities for the residents, who are always pleasant and friendly. The lodge has a homely feel, is kept spotlessly clean and everything is maintained and ran very well by the lodge manager.

Would give them 0 stars if it were possible. Shoddy service from start to (almost) end. We were in the process of buying through them for 4 months, only for the deal to collapse due to terrible management of communication. We never felt they told us the whole truth and also seemed to (illegally) hint that we should offer more money. After a price was agreed! Terrible experience and all while my wife was heavily pregnant. A fact which they actually abused for their own gain. Wouldn't trust them

It began with an overvaluation of our property, not by a reasonable sum but according to their revision by £150,000! Even in a fluctuating market how could professionals make such a miscalculation. It led to us making an offer on a property that we were never going to be able to afford. It cost us £800, having had the survey done on the property we were thinking of purchasing. Added to this were administrative blunders, calls telling us viewings were taking place when there were no viewings at all. People taking messages and never passing them on, non- returned phone calls and frankly a feeling that our house wasn't worth bothering with because of their initial error of judgment. Added to this and just to finish off, they lost the keys to a house they were supposed to be trying to sell. Frankly a disaster.
