Fergus and the Chesterton’s team did a great job finding us a fantastic new flat so quickly, especially in such a difficult period to rent in London. Only thing we weren’t very confortable with, was receiving calls offering energy/insurance to the new flat.

GoogleScott and Oliver sold our flat in De Beauvoir and were excellent throughout the process in a very challenging market. Our initial sale was agreed pre-lockdown at asking price within a week of listing and, after that buyer pulled out, they secured three very strong offers based on a video tour subject to a physical viewing (including one over the asking price). All bidders proceeded to make formal offers and the sale process to exchange and completion was handled with a great deal of professionalism. Chestertons are by far the worst lettings agency in London. I used them for 4 years to let my property and it was not an enjoyable time. When they found me a tenant for my property I was excited, the offer was lower than I wanted but I went with it. Chestertons held back key information which I only found out about 3 months into the agreement by the tenants not them. If I had that information at the start I would not have gone ahead with it. During the re-letting processes at the start of this year, Chestertons automatically re-listed my property without any discussions with me on price, furnished or un-furnished, length of contract etc. They also found a total of ZERO suitable applicants for my property, the ones they did find were referrals from my current tenants. I negotiated a deal with these tenants all confirmed with Chestertons, only to get a call 3 days later from a manager saying there was some mixed communication and the tenants have not agreed to the terms and did not agree to the terms outlined by senior lettings agent. Lastly, the communication. I lost count of the amount of people I spoke to from Chestertons, and 3 of them i'm still waiting for them to return my call!!!! Save yourself a lot of stress and hassle and choose any other agency please.

GoogleFrom a tenant perspective: - property manager was not really reachable - complaints were handled with a multiple weeks/ months delay - agents were actively lying and trying to play current and future tenants against each other - took month for deposit return Like so many agents in London they only care until contracts are signed and minimize efforts afterwards, creating problems for the tenant and the landlord alike.
