They legally scam people.
When I signed up for WeWork All Access Plus, the pricing page showed "289€/mo" with a small asterisk at the bottom of the page stating the price is based on a 12-month commitment. There was no other clear indication during the signup process that I was committing to a full year.
I believed I was signing up for a flexible monthly membership, which is how the product is marketed. I only discovered I was locked into a 12-month contract worth ~$3,000+ when I tried to cancel.

GoogleI like the idea of WeWork, but I think the company is focusing on the wrong problems.
For example, someone once stole my MacBook charger while I was working in a shared space. The desks aren’t covered by security cameras, so there was no way to identify who took it. At the same time, WeWork has 24/7 security whose priority seems to be clearing the shared workspace after midnight because of a policy that’s supposedly meant to prevent people from sleeping there.
The strange part is that, in all the time I’ve spent working at WeWork, I’ve never actually seen anyone sleeping in the shared workspace. What I have heard, more than once, is that people’s belongings have been stolen. It feels like the company is solving a problem that barely exists while giving far less attention to one that members actually experience.
Another example is building access. To enter WeWork, you need to carry a physical access card. It’s easy to forget it at home, and in 2026 that feels unnecessary. WeWork already has phone-based access technology for private office members, so the capability clearly exists. Instead of making it available to everyone, including hot desk members, they charge £25 to replace a lost or forgotten card. It feels like the company is choosing penalties over solving the underlying problem.
Overall, it feels like WeWork is prioritizing the enforcement of low-impact policies over fixing the issues that genuinely affect members. Improving security and making access more convenient would do far more for the customer experience than charging people for avoidable inconveniences.

GoogleMy wife works in the building and left her phone in the car when I dropped her off. I popped in to leave her phone at reception, but the man in glasses who was on the desk at 7:53am on 13 May 2026 didn’t wanna take it cos his shift was ending soon. Tried getting him to take it and hand it over to whoever was taking over, but he wouldn’t do it.
Had to wait until 8am, when the lady who took over asked for my wife’s name, found her details on the system and took the phone. Took all of 30 seconds.
The first guy was still hanging around at this point, so a bit baffling as to why he couldn’t have taken it. Only reason I can think of is sheer laziness.

GoogleBeen working here for several months now using the hot desks - good location and big, bright office with large floorplates. Lots of lunch options around. Decent quiet area and kitchen.
Downsides: lack of monitors (despite being requested repeatedly by members), very long (10-15min) barista/coffee queues pretty much all day, not enough bathrooms for the amount of people and they get quite dirty towards the end of the day. Terrible office chairs that bounce back way too much imo and cannot be fixed upright, lack of standing desks. Also I once forgot something upstairs 5 min past 6pm and the security downstairs made me wait 45min to get “clearance” for me to go back upstairs - very unnecessary.

GoogleDisappointed with the signup process so far.
Two months ago, I visited for a site tour and was quoted a rate of around £250. This week I was offered a rate of over £300 + VAT. I asked whether any flexibility was available and was told another colleague could provide a discount, but the revised offer was essentially the same as the public website rate, only marginally better.
It is now day three and I still have no clear way to proceed with signup. I have emailed Thomas Hamil multiple times without response. I even returned to the location in person to follow up, and the team there also emailed him, still no reply.
For a large, global company, the response time and onboarding experience have been unexpectedly poor. Not a great first impression.

GoogleThe place is nice but if you can't get the coffee right the whole experience is a fail. There is no full fat milk... Like walking into a pup and them offering ONLY lite beer. Someone in their head office thinks this is a good idea.

GoogleThis should have been an awesome location.
Chairs and desks are typical wework uncomfortable, unless you are one of the few individuals on the planet who they are modelled for.
Maintenance is behind - imagine toilet doors with broken locks, misconfigured coffee machines and slow wifi!
Took 2 months to take care of a simple "fix it request". Another one… now celebrates a month, with no reaction, of course.
Wifi likes it slow and jumpy.
Air conditioning is insufficient, or controlled by beings who do not like to breathe. And air quality meter calls inside air state "pollution". If only you could open a window, or actually control AC.
Meeting rooms are "temporarily" taken out of circulation for months, while some of those remaining have dirty furniture. I can only speculate this is to drive bookings.
If you have a choice, consider another building.

TrustpilotLoud music 24/7, impossible to work there
WeWork has beutiful working spaces but they seem to think people are members to go to discos and watch TV because in every office I visited (I'm a member in Mexico City) they have loud music constantly, 24/7, and huge TVs setup in several offices where they randomly put up movies again with loud sound.
Like, we're there to work, not to go to discos and watch TV. It's super hard to focus.
I don't know what they're thinking, seriously. Super bad experience. The people working there have 0 understanding that the main reason someone signs up there is to have a coworking space to **do work**, still they have loud disco music 24/7 and it makes it super hard to concentrate.
If it wasn't for this issue, I'd give it 5 stars. But basically the **main** reason is to **work** there so with that in mind, the entire point is gone when it's loud music all day.

TrustpilotThank you WeWork Soho
WeWork in Soho London is always so clean and has such a nice atmosphere. Flavoured water and free coffee machines, pet friendly, stocked clean bathrooms with air fresheners and sanitary products and well equipped meeting rooms. Everyone is so friendly, and they have social events for members that are so fun to witness. I recently had an incident where my boss screamed / got threatening with me, and people jumped in to help, the We Work manager banned him and was really kind and supportive to me afterwards. Thank you so much for having my back. I’m gonna miss this office space.

TrustpilotClaustrophobic, slow network
This may vary per location, but in our WeWork, the office space is extremely crowded and claustrophobic with inadequate ventilation. Tons of tiny offices (all empty, all locked) and anthill-like passages combined with stuffy air makes you feel like are in a sinking submarine. Network is inadequate if the business requires large data downloads. WiFi tops at 25MBps, but with a wired connection you can get up to 50MBps.

GoogleI was a visitor for a meeting within WeWork.
The next member, who had booked the room after my hosts, came early to insist we leave.
This escalated quickly, and despite not having any words exchanged between myself and the unknown member, he and his colleague locked me in the room with them and threatened me physically because they demanded to know the name of my company, and told me I couldn't leave until I told them.
There was no security anywhere to be seen.
After leaving a complaint, WeWork did not contact me to follow up.
I later found out that the member only received a formal warning. I repeat, they received a formal warning for locking me in a room with two of them and threatening me with violence because the meeting went on longer than they desired.
Truly, I wish I had contacted the police because of WeWork's completely inadequate response.

GoogleThere's a large «hot desking» area on the 10th floor with proper comfortable office chairs and desks (rather than kitchen stools and coffee tables). Literally a 2-minute walk from the Jubilee line exit, quick and easy to enter, no faff with the staff encountered. Clean and well-maintained.

Horrendous experience, I'll never be using We Work again.
Took my money for 2 bookings at an office block that it turned out was in default so could not be accessed.
It took me 6 weeks to get my money back, and time and again they refused to give my money back trying to give me a credit note instead.
I'd advise never to use this company

GoogleThey also deleted my review (see below) I guess they would pathetically remove negative comments and stay unhelpful :(
I agree with all negative comments.
Nice building but a bunch of idiotic, unfriendly, useless and unprofessional staff that pretend they are smart-pants.
The staff are ruthless and constantly bothering you and your guests.
They have no idea that majority of people who work here value their time and are entrepreneurial.
Do not bother explain things to them because they have no clue.
The new Community manager Phoebe Cobb is fake and unhelpful.
The associate Elle Harper thinks she knows everything and superior than the others.
This group of people should be replaced by AI. What a waste of resources and money!

GooglePoorly stocked and lack of maintenance. Location is great, nice furnishings, wonderful plants. However been here many times now, the staplers never work, paper cutters don’t all work, printers often break or jam and no easy way for the the app to let the managers know. Printing and cutting for ideas/ mood boards is about one of the only reasons we need to work outside of homes apart from occasional change of scenery. No coco powder just some cheap hot chocolate powder. The milk and oat milks run out quickly on busy shared floors but on there floors you see them throwing/dumping milk out in bulk...not very environmentally friendly really. It’s about £600/m so one should be able to expect some breakfast items/fruits/ or just sparking water tap, not just the plant milk and basic coffee machine, and when even the basics run out it’s little sad. No front desk after hours and the few hospitality team members are a bit hit and miss. Some are really lovely abut some are rather condescending and act as if they own the place and tell you off when you occasionally get stuck in the door or need a new whiteboard marker (oh yes they keep putting dry pens and markers back instead of just change them) the gate instead of just be nice and help. It’s ok not to have staff sure it’s pretty much a self serving place but at least give the app some function to call someone remotely or give quick way for feedback, so your users can let you know if you can manage your stock better or something is broken which in term actually will save you a lot of waste and staffing hours.
Another 2 month still broken paper cutter- what’s the point of replying here when you don’t do anything about it.

TrustpilotLong-term member
Long-term member. Real experience. Read before you sign.
I've been a WeWork member for several years, both as part of a company and individually. I'm sharing my honest experience to help others make a more informed decision before signing up.
Support:
Earlier this year a technical issue left me unable to access my membership for nearly two weeks. Support tickets and escalation emails went completely unanswered. I missed important business calls during this time. The only person who genuinely tried to help was one community lead at this location, the broader support system simply doesn't work.
Contract dispute:
I signed a 12-month renewal through WeWork's own official member portal. The contract was fully executed, signed by both me and a WeWork representative on the same date. WeWork then refused to honor it, claiming it was generated in error by their own internal system. With no legal basis provided, I was pressured into signing a new contract at a higher rate. My only alternative was losing access entirely. I signed under protest solely to keep my business running.
Benefits:
Benefits have been quietly reduced year after year. Conference room credits dropped from 5 to 3, announced as if it were a positive change. Locations members depended on have been closed with little notice. Every change is presented as progress while the membership becomes worth less and less.
The pattern:
During COVID, WeWork strictly enforced contracts when members asked for flexibility. When their own system produces a contract that benefits the member, suddenly it doesn't apply. That double standard is something every prospective member should know before signing anything.
Before you sign:
Search Reddit for WeWork reviews from real members before making your decision. What I experienced is not unique, it's a pattern repeated across many locations and many members.
A note on WeWork's response to this review:
I already know what's coming, an automated reply asking me to contact support. I did. Multiple times. It didn't help. That automated response to a real human problem is itself the perfect example of what WeWork has become, a corporation that replaced genuine engagement with auto-replies and accountability with deflection.
A personal note:
What makes this genuinely sad is remembering what WeWork once was. In its early days it was a special place, a real community built around startups, creativity, and human connection. People didn't just rent desks, they built companies and friendships here. That energy was real and it was valuable.
The trajectory since then speaks for itself, delisted from the stock market, bankruptcy filing, and a membership experience in steady decline. One has to wonder whether treating members as partners rather than problems might have led to a very different outcome. WeWork had real trust once. It chose to spend it.

TrustpilotA global community of coworkers like no other
A global community of coworkers like no other. Yes, it has become more corporate over the decade and a half since its founding, this is the inevitable evolution of a startup that at some point needs to make money.
Nevertheless, I would challenge any competitor to propose an alternative where as either an office or coworking member, you can drop in to a well appointed familiar space in virtually every major city in the world, with zero friction, be welcomed as though you were at home and simply get to work. This alone is worth the premium that WeWork charges over some of its independent, local competitors.
You can have a more casual sign-up and easier cancellation process elsewhere but the trade off is more than worth it for me and my increasingly multi-located business.

GoogleThe coffee was good but no place where you can give interviews unless you pay extra for a room. Besides people talk very loudly, they have no respect for co workers.
I have seen that the people hanging out there use some marketing or make yourself good gimmick by talking loud about millions they are making 😂😂 I don’t understand if you are making millions why will you work at a co-working place😂 I myself was there since I had no office access and electricity outage at home. Basically felt homeless…cud have as well gone to a cafe rather….
No hard feels though maybe you will feel better if you go and rent in groups!

TrustpilotHorrible customer service
Horrible customer service. While I love their concept, their help desk is a farce.
Yesterday, at 5:50pm, I wanted to book for today. However, after selecting the spot and time, you need to login. I did so but then the booking page opens again and because i did not pay attention, I booked for the same day although that office was only open for 10 more minutes. Immediately contacted customer service who was super slow in responding and could not help me at all, insisted that I should cancel myself (which I couldn’t do at that point anymore because it was 6:10pm until customer service got back to me).
Super not understanding, I wasted half an hour discussing with Sarah F from customer service for absolutely nothing. So will go somewhere else today.

TrustpilotClaim to be flexible but are anything but...
Just used WeWork for the first time on a trip to Japan. Very disappointed overall. Signed up for the month by month cancel anytime contract as I was only there for 1 month but was told I couldn't cancel at the end of the first month because I started my membership half way through a month. So I ended up paying for 1.5 months and couldn't even use WeWork for the extra 1/2 month because they didn't have any locations in Sapporo which is where I moved to next. In reality they showed zero flexibility. Also, to be honest the environment barely any better than sitting in a Starbucks somewhere - its crowded, noisy and hard to get any work done.

TrustpilotWORST SALES SERVICE EVER!!
WORST SALES SERVICE EVER!!! I have spoken to a Sales at Wework called : Thomas Mahieu. After asking 5 times the same questions and keep asking in order to get a visit in the offices to rent an offices, he decides that we had asked too much and too many times! This sales should be reminded that the company exists only because people rent the offices. So the customers are the basis of the existence of the company he works in (if he is still there). Neglecting a customer, who is keen on visiting and then renting just because the sales is not reactive enough to the request is the worst commercial attitude ever seen!!! Worst service ever. I strongly not recommend Wework and highly disappointed of the service and the arrogance of this sales.
