Stephen Wheatcroft ( the branch manager) has been exceptional in guiding me through the various processes we have had to deal with. Obstructive and awful experience

This is a review for the Bury branch. I am an 84 year old widow and I am absolutely disgusted with the way this company acts, and I will be pursuing them further, through the Property Ombudsmen. They were not providing an adequate service, with hidden charges and poor value for money, and when I tried to change to a different estate agent they claimed they were not receiving any emails. I know for a fact they were sent these emails by the other estate agents, as we were cc'd in the email chain, and Entwistle Green are just being deliberately obstructive. They have carried on in this way for the past few weeks, and they are causing me a lot of stress.

Allerton Branch, Liverpool. Unfortunately I cannot give zero stars as this company does not deserve a single one. They are utter liars and extremely poor communicators. My 89yr old mother trusted them with selling her home, which was hugely over valued then reduced twice. After 8 weeks and not a single viewing, the manger made contact to say he was concerned……no shit Stuart!! He came out to the house to try and explain their failings but we had by now lost complete trust in them and asked for the contract to be cancelled, to which he refused, got up and walked out. Professionalism also another failure. The agency agreement my mum had signed and kept by Entwistle stated a minimum period of 16 weeks, however the copy she was left with stated 12 weeks. The entire experience has left my mum very disheartened when all she wants is to move closer to family as quickly as possible. DO NOT use this company, think twice before allowing them into your home.

Unprofessional

I would strongly advise anyone to think carefully before using Entwistle Green based on my experience. The most serious issue was that they allowed a surveyor into my property unsupervised and without my permission. During the visit, damage was caused to my property. Rather than accepting responsibility or trying to resolve the matter fairly, Entwistle Green repeatedly refused to take any accountability. After a long and frustrating process, I had no option but to take my complaint to The Property Ombudsman. The Ombudsman ruled in my favour and awarded compensation. However, even after an independent decision had been made, Entwistle Green still failed to pay. I ultimately had to threaten legal action before they finally released the compensation that had already been awarded. The entire experience was stressful, time-consuming and completely avoidable. A mistake can happen in any business, but how a company responds is what matters. In my case, there was no ownership of the problem, poor communication throughout, and I was forced to escalate matters every step of the way. I would not use Entwistle Green again and cannot recommend them based on my experience.

The potential Tenants she sent to the property were all good quality and Louisa was able to explain their circumstances to us. This really helped us to pick the right tenants. The process was smooth and easy and I can’t thank Louisa and the rest of the staff enough and will be recommending them to all family and friends.

It's like a nightmare

Our landlord works with Entwistle Green and, to be clear, we have no issue with the landlord himself. He was very fair, confirmed from the beginning that we had left the property in excellent condition, and approved the full return of our deposit. Despite this, dealing with Entwistle Green was extremely frustrating. Our calls were repeatedly unanswered, our emails were ignored, and when we visited the office in person, we were given excuses and staff appeared unwilling to speak with us. Even though our landlord had already authorised the full refund, it took nearly two months for us to receive our deposit. The lack of communication and unnecessary delay caused a great deal of stress. Based on our experience, I would strongly advise tenants and landlords to think carefully before using this agency.

Crap service

My experience was very poor when using them for selling property via Flyp. They did not respond promptly to the buyers when their colleague was on leave and no one covered that colleague's work/monitored the email. The deal was nearly fell through because of it! They also failed to issue the MOS to both parties correctly and they sent it to the solicitor who had not been instructed (Wrong solicitors for both buyer and seller sides). They did not take the selling seriously! Please do Think Twice before you instruct them for selling! Besides, their email for complaint is not working. Will definitely escalate to the property Ombudsman.

Abysmal Communication From Liverpool Branch

Overall my partner and I have had an absolutely horrendous experience with Entwistle Green's Liverpool City Centre branch. Communication is non-existent. A few months ago, it took 3 weeks and having to CC in everyone we could find in their organisation to get any sort of response to a query. Since then, we have written a formal complaint about their total dereliction of responsibilities relating to another matter. 6 weeks on, with multiple people emailed and chased further, we still have not even had an acknowledgement of our complaint; never mind an adequate response. Total lack of professionalism and basic competence. Its alright though, because they post some nice reels on their Instagram account.

Be aware of Entwistle Green, Countrywide Group, under Connells Group in the UK

We signed a contract for full management with Entwistle Green in Widnes (co-firm of Countrywide and Connells Group) to rent out our property. They caused us damage on a value of our property by about £30000. They concealed their income in Annual tax report to HMRC repeatedly, ignored our complaints, refused to do check up, charged us money for work which has not been supported by any evidence, they charged us for uncomplete services, they have not cared about the law and the rights, they puy phone down or did not pick up their phone, the have not replied, ignored us to provide the documentation, they told answers differently from thr facts, and also the opposite between their workers, they caused irretrievable damages to us-landlord. Entwistle Green and Countrywide team went on Christmas holiday and knowingly left a leaking water on the tenants' heads. They were irresponsible ignorants, uselest unprofessionals, told us the lies, has not provided documentation and services ordered by the law, uncomplete documentatipn, reports, in entory, and check-out report for which they charged us they deducted our rental income without any documentation, quotes, photos for and after repairs, they allowed tenants to change a whole kitchen without our consent, if they changed gas, electricity, or water they had not made the revision reports, they caused us-the landlord many problems, they have not cared about 6x unpaid rent in two months arrears but told us that everything was fine, that the tenants were happy. They made us to feel that we were robbed and the law was ineffective to protect us-the landlord.

I can't thank the Maghull Office in Merseyside enough for the help support and commitment the team provided throughout the purchase of my home. The knowledge, skills and abikity the team have is amazing, and although they are very busy, they always had time to help and assist. Communication was excellent throughout my purchase, to include excellent interpersonal skills that always made me feel reassured. The branch Manager Sarah and Georgia were totally amazing at their job and really lovely people. Sam, who was my financial advisor was truly both a lovely person and excellent at his job. Moving home is a stressful time, however. The team at Maghull helped me from start to end. I would highly recommend the team at Maghull to help with house sale,purchase or mortgages.
