GoogleVery much enjoyed the experience of working with Verity and the team at Downes & daughters to sell my father's home of 50 years! They were super responsive, worked with me to help me decide what was best for selling the house in the time we had, and kept me informed all the way, right up to moving day. GoogleWe had a really great experience with Downes and Daughters and honestly couldn’t recommend them enough. The whole team were attentive, friendly and always on the ball, with regular communication throughout the entire process. Our purchase took quite a long time, but they supported us the whole way and were always helpful and reassuring when things felt stressful. Every member of staff we dealt with was lovely, so it’s hard to mention specific names, everyone we spoke to was approachable and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. What we really appreciated was how straightforward and honest they were. When we were viewing properties there was no pressure or upselling, no pushing us to offer more or suggesting huge levels of interest just to drive up bids. The best and final offers process felt fair and transparent, which we really valued. In comparison, when we were selling our own property through a different estate agent, the service unfortunately didn’t come close to the level we experienced with Downes and Daughters. If we ever decide to move again, we would definitely choose to sell through them. If you’re thinking of selling, they’re a great company to work with, and if you’re buying it’s always worth keeping an eye on their listings, the photos, descriptions and pricing always seemed realistic and fair. A genuinely lovely team who made a long and sometimes stressful process much easier.

Throughout the entire process they were fantastic, starting off with how they marketed the property, were realistic on valuation (an offer of my asking prices was accepted within two weeks) through to the final completion. Professional and proactive from the start, they kept me fully informed and it was a pleasure to use them. If I had more properties, I'd have them sell them all :-) More so, it was great to have a more personable service from them and their exceptional staff with none of the hassle, lack of comms or hard sell I'd have received or expected from an estate agent that was part of a chain.

GoogleThe Downes and Daughters team were amazing! Our purchase was far from simple ( no fault of theirs) but Verity and the team did their upmost to keep things going. They chased the solicitors just as much as me and were great with communicating with us throughout. It was SO helpful that every time we called no matter who we spoke to they were all kept in the loop and knew what stage we was at. I didn’t have to go through explaining what I was waiting for etc. every time. Being a first time buyer it was pretty daunting ( especially with all the big words😂) but the team did their best to explain and break things down for us. GoogleHaving bought, let and rented property in London and met with many estate agents in and around Lichfield, I couldn't believe the difference in dealing with D&D. Verity and her mother in particular were an absolute pleasure to deal with and speak to. In fact, talking to Verity felt very much like talking to a friend - she was incredibly helpful, supportive and empathetic from the very beginning through to completion. Her replies were always timely and positive (and I wasn't short of questions!). Whilst I was the buyer, I felt like Verity was working with, and for, me as much as she was the seller. Unlike pretty much every other estate agent I have encountered, I never felt like D&D were pushy or chasing their own commercial interests, they were incredible fair, reasonable and understanding. Even at points when I was a little unsure what to do, Verity was on hand to give helpful and balanced advice. As well as the lovely people, the fact D&D is a family run and female heavy business is what sets them apart - they genuinely care and offer a terrific service. I never thought it possible to be so glowing about an estate agent but there's no way I'd use anyone else! Thanks again!

GoogleWe have used Verity, Dan and the team three times (2 sales and one purchase) and they have been fabulous each time. The last time was the sale of our mother's house. Despite it being a long drawn out and at times frustrating process Verity and the team stayed positive throughout. It was hard doing everything from a distance but communication was excellent and they went over and above to ensure both parties in the sale were happy. Thank you!

Hi Simon. Thanks for the review although I have to say that the ‘Spoken For’ is possibly one of our most preferred features with our clients. Everyone is welcome to their own opinion though. I do have to say that I don’t think it is particularly fair to rate our entire business on this one thing, when you haven’t experienced the service we give as agents. I’m sure you know how negative ratings can hurt a local family business that is always striving to compete with the large national agencies.

GoogleI used Downes & Daughers for a recent purchase in Borrowcop Lane Lichfield and have to say it's the best experience, by a long way, that I've had with an estate agent. For the first time I genuinely felt an agent was working on behalf and in the best interests of both the seller and the buyer. The biggest compliment I can pay Verity and the team, is it didn't feel like dealing with an estate agent. I never had to chase them and it was clear we were dealing with a very competent, efficient but also very friendly and sincere business who had a genuine interest in making the sale & purchase as easy and hassle free as it could be.
