One star is too much for them

One star is too much for them. I came for a viewing on 08.07 at W4 3AA with Riff Hassain, the address which was confirmed twice: the day before and an hour before viewing. I was waiting for an hour with 6 more peoples and agency secretary replied like: will be there in 5 minutes, or she is inside of the property, she is in the car on the corner as we all called from time to time from different numbers.Nasty disgrace, I have spent time to travel and half of my Saturday on this. No-one even apologies on it, Shame to treat your clients like that

Hunters have supported Perrymount Primary School for many years. It is so lovely to have a local firm supporting the school with our fundraising events. They have been a fantastic support!

Friendly, helpful and approachable

From start to finish with viewing, asking questions, getting information for Solicitors, and completion the team have been great. They’ve made me feel like no question was too silly, given me their time to view the property when needed and they have gone above and beyond in chasing information for me to enable a quick sale. Monica, Antonia and Melanie have been fantastic in helping me and very friendly and helpful. I can not fault my experience as a first time buyer.

I am incredibly disappointed

I am incredibly disappointed. The agency passes me a flat in awful condition, full of dust and cobwebs around the windows. Moreover, the paint is going out of the walls, leaving the dark wholes/spots, and it doesn't look very pleasant. The previous tenants left pudding or whatever it was under and around the fridge. I had lost my nails trying to scrape this stinking dust. I have to mention that the top of the fridge was also covered of 5 mm of dust with fat from a cooker, which made it even harder to clean. It took me three days to clean the flat to prepare it to bring my staff. I feel cheated and disrespected. I had texted the agency, and no one even tried to text me back. When I came to the agency, I didn't even hear an apology, but I was told that my expectations/standards are too high and the flat is in a suitable condition. Do I really have too high expectations, guys, or is it just the agency's too low standards?I just regret that I didn't start making the photos and videos at the beginning when it was much worst.

Only use places that give you what you want

rather than try and give limited help, help with what the person actually needs help with in regards to property choice.

Unprofessional

We contacted Hunters Agency to view a house in my local area. The agency was really slack with replying to E-Mails, which shows a red flag from the get-go. After filling in a questionnaire, we asked questions about the property which he didn't know the answers to. Another red flag. So I thought, well, we will view the property anyway and see how that goes. I said that we were only available in the afternoons. He didn't reply. So I emailed again asking if this was okay. It wasn't until the next day he replied with "Apologies for the delay in response, unfortunately the email didn’t send and was in my outbox." So I gave him the benefit of the doubt and was polite about it. He offered 10:15 in the morning, so my partner had to arrange time off work to do it as it didn't seem they would even negotiate a time that would suit us anyway. Another red flag. So we agreed. He then said you will receive a confirmation text with the time and address etc. Now, it's the day of the viewing with only a an hour left until the viewing and we still haven't received the confirmation text of the address or anything. From this awful display of customer service, we shall not be going. The proffesionalism is slack to say the very least.

Rude staff

Staff were nothing but rude during the process of trying to arrange a viewing. The viewing was late and the lady on the phone claimed multiple people were inside already viewing and that I was late (this was not true) 2 people emerged. Bad attitude and no professionalism

This is the worst agent ever

This is the worst agent ever. All agents are known for their commitment and trustworthiness, but they lack honesty. Instead of truthfully stating the facts about the property, they always wrap things up or try to deceive the client. I had a very bad experience with this agent.

Very disappointed with this company

Very disappointed with this company! Put an offer in for a house and it took them over 2 weeks to even get back to me and that was me ringing them. After waiting and waiting to see if my offer had been accepted i rang them once again and and they said unfortunately it hadnt been accepted but when where they going to let me know! Will not be going through them again to buy a house. Absolutely disgusting and no courtesy to their customers what so ever!

Hunters Ilkley - just don't

Do not let through these people. They basically treat you like a second class citizen, coming to do in person check ups once every 6 month. So invasive. The property we rented turned out to be in poor condition, really cold and drafty with many things not working properly. We were supplied with no keys for the windows or patio doors and it was so annoying to have to be in constant contact with them about what was going on. Check out process was awful, problems that were fixed throughout the tenancy were tallied up and then we were told things would be deducted from our deposit. They want us to pay to make things in good and working order when they were not in that state when we moved in. Just rent from someone else - only way to deal with these kind of people is to not do business with them, they won't change or respect you once you're on their leash.

I moved in to one of hunters…

I moved in to one of hunters properties, October last year, it seemed fine, apart from bits and bats, I recently moved out and asked for my deposit back and they came up with all sorts of problems I had left, the problems were already there when I moved in, any one renting a property off them must go through the place with a fine tooth comb and make a note of everything in front of the agent so you are not charged for it at a later date, I lost nearly all my deposit, I got £18 back, totally robbed, will never use them again, they don't care about the tenants, stay away

Unfortunately, had the worst experience I could never even think of during the purchase of the property. When buying a flat turned into a nightmare and when I as a buyer was treated like an insect. The agent dragged me far into the deal providing wrong information about the DSS tenant being given 6 months’ notice to move out. As I figured out later in the process the owner couldn’t get rid of the tenant and was trying to sell the flat with this issue. The agent was aware of it and never managed to present the requested proof of notice given to the tenant just as a tenancy agreement, however, was assuring me that he has seen both documents and they would be passed to my solicitors. They have never done that and even refused to at later stages but were pushy for me to start the conveyancing and order expensive searches, while it took their client (the vendor) 3 weeks to fill in the sales pack. Wondering why weren’t they chasing their client! I’ve wasted 3 months on a deal which wasn’t moving from vendors side, £1,700 on survey and solicitor fees, still think this case could be taken to the court as who will take the responsibility for this situation? 3 months into the process the agent called me asking to write a kind letter to the vendor so she considers eviction of the tenant. Wondering why would I do that and how did this come up? The woman in sales progression team was leaving notes in the system saying “tried calling buyers solicitors, left a voicemail”. It turned out to be interesting fact that my solicitors don’t even have a voicemail during the working hours. There’s always someone picking up the phone. Lost time and money. Faced an unprofessional and rude approach from agent’s side. Onboarding problematic properties is one thing but helping the buyer by selling the property with the tenant which refuses to move out and telling lies to make it happen = committing crime.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

I hate writing bad reviews, so I almost decided not to do that. However, Hunters keeps sending us promotional emails and every time it reminds us about the dreadful experience that my husband and I went through in September, when buying a property. To sum up an absolutely exhausting story: we almost ended up homeless because of the incompetence of certain people at Hunters. Short version: The most stressful deal we ever made. Would be hard to imagine a more frustrating process on the day of completion. Terrible service from Sarah Varley throughout with no apology for it. Dave seemed like a nice, professional guy, but he wasn’t handling our case. So, unless you have no choice, go somewhere else. Long version: The process of purchase started in January 2020 and in September on the moving day by 16:30, with the van booked, stuff packed and our rent agreement ending, we still didn't know if we were going to get keys from our new property. We ended up moving very late in the evening, overpaying moving van staff and absolutely stressed out. The process was completely finalized from our side, with just redemption figure outstanding from the seller. Something that should have been taken care of in advance. It took relentless chasing on already crazy day to sort everything out. And after waiting till the very last minute to complete, Hunters failed to advise that we would have to pick up the keys from their branch all across town. Considering the time of completion on Friday and the fact that we had the moving van in place, there was no way for us to make it on time. They would not send keys with a courier or bother to bring them to the flat. They ended up giving the keys to one of their agents who was doing viewings in another area. So, my husband had to go and pick them up at the last moment. If we didn’t manage to pick them up, we’d be homeless for the whole weekend or would have to go through a few very unpleasant conversations with our landlord at the very least. It is worth pointing out Sarah Varley specifically. She was late for viewings, regularly ignoring our queries and removing me from the email chains for some reason. She also acted quite dismissive when handling the whole situation on the day. Horrendous service from her throughout and no apologies for it at any point. We only met Dave once and I strongly believe that things would have been different if he handled our case. He arrived on time and seemed very professional and helpful. Shame we got Sarah Varley instead. The gentleman who we picked up our keys from on the day was also quite nice and helpful.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

I had two main involvements with Hunters, as a landlord (over a 4 year period) and as a seller. Sarah provided an excellent service in managing the let, promptly dealing with any issues and keeping good relations with the tenant, who stayed the whole period the property was let. Meanwhile Dave gave great advice over the years regarding when might be a good time to go to market. The property was not easy to own, with many challenges in recent years, such as a change in the use of the commercial space underneath the flat and expensive external repairs. Dave gave helpful and honest opinions of what these challenges meant for the property and for my situation. The flat has now sold at a good price within the circumstances, enabling me to exit a stressful and uncertain situation. Very grateful to Dave and Sarah for all their help in managing and selling the property!

The team at Forest Hill were absolutely incredible throughout a lengthy and complicated sale and purchase. In twenty years of home ownership we have never encountered such sincere, committed and thoughtful estate agents. I would highly recommend them to everyone!

All talk no action

They contacted me as they said my current estate agent was not promoting my house to its best potential.I was promised a quality service with excellent communication but as it turned out they are worse than my current estate agent .I would avoid hunters as they are clearly having serious issues across the company.

Wast time. After I saw the house and paid a deposit because we want to take it, they started not answering the phones or saying they were busy. They promised to contact us the next day but nothing. After several messages and contacts they told me that the house we want is not their agency-Thinq Agency. Those who read this review, please do not use the services of the Thinq Agency.Thinq Agency and Hunters are two related agencies who don't care about customers.

Definitely one to avoid for buying and selling

This agent was absolutely hopeless. I was trying to buy a property they were selling...but their communication was appalling and they made me feel like a nuisance. They didnt respond to emails and on the rare occasions their phones were answered they didn't return calls. In the end I resorted to going in person to their office where I would have to wait ages and was often then met with a blank look and confusion. They seemed to want to do very little for their commission and several times tried to pass parts of their job on to my solicitors. From my point of view, as a buyer, they were inefficient, slow and seemed to have a poor understanding of the process of selling a house.....I think they did a really poor job for the vendors too.Perhaps they are brilliant at lettings?Certainly not one to buy or sell property through!

Hopefully we can make the festival bigger and better next year. The 1st prize for the Dalmain raffle arrived today! Who will be the lucky winner of the Amazon fire tablet????

Highly recommend - Steph Peart-ThomasIt has been almost a year to purchase a property, so frustrating! However, we are so lucky to have Steph as our account manager. She kept chasing seller solicitor and my solicitor, without her I would withdraw the purchase long time ago. She also shared me with my concerns. Truly helped. Highly recommend.
