Really really easy company to work with. They kept us in the loop at all times, were professional and polite in every correspondence and seemed to want to do everything they could to make things smoother for us. Thank you particularly to Ellie who was fantastic throughout and Jamie who gave really good advice which was appreciated. Recently both sold and bought a property through Peter James Brockley dealing mainly with Jamie but also George and Ellie. We had previously been with another high street agency and the experience could not be more different. The level of expertise, professionalism and diligence was without compare. It wasn’t an easy ride but they did everything possible to make sure the sale and purchase went through smoothly, reacting to hiccups along the way calmly and always with solutions. They were a pleasure to work with, I could not recommend them highly enough and will be telling everyone about them.

They are positively awful!! Tried to contact, sent emails and messages, then when it came to now we want to terminate as you haven’t done your job.. the apologies come and blame is distributed far and wide! The tenants have rights too!! The rental tribunal is the next stop!! Don’t use them!

I am currently in the process of purchasing a property with Dexter and my agent is Samara. I previously viewed some properties with another Dexter office and they were very unprofessional and I was hesitant at first to use Dexter again. However, my experience with Samara so far has been extremally good. She is very responsive and approachable with in-depth knowledge of the market and the area. I couldn't wish for a better agent especially as a first time buyer.

Horrible property & staff

Pretty sure all the reviews on here are fake. We had an awful time with Dexter’s with our rental property. The flat we lived in was not suitable for humans to live in (they’ve still kept this on the market and let it to some poor other tenants). The property was full of black mould, mice and the windows rotting away, one didn’t even close properly! Whenever we asked for help/repairs we were always greeted with an argumentative tenant support team who even suggest it’s our fault and to send the bill to us! To top it off, when I was under a redundancy process during Covid, I asked for some flexibility with pushing the rent day back by a couple of days (something I hadn’t asked for throughout the whole tenancy) and was shouted at and even threatened a bad reference if I didn’t pay on time. If you want to deal with an agency who has any compassion, these are not the ones for you. They’re only nice when you’re finding a property and resigning your contract!

Bad experience with the Earl’s Court Branch

I had a bad experience with the Earl’s Court branch as one of their tenants. During my 2 year contract with them I had no idea who my property manager was. They were constantly changing and never notified us of this change. This meant that whenever I had a query or complaint I would get passed around from person to person and it would take weeks to even get a response. For example, we had some tiles break off from the shower wall due to expanding pipes. We informed an agent of this because this was a safety hazard. However, it was never fixed. On several occasions when I called to make a simple enquiry the agents have been very rude and abrupt. They had no respect for us as tenants. When our contract was nearing its end and the property was going back on the market, agents would enter our property without a 24 hour notice and without our permission. This happened over 20 times. One day I even woke up to find one of the agents in my apartment, who had entered with his own set of keys and without telling us that he was coming. I asked the agents to stop entering without permission, however, they continued to do so. I have now found out that it is illegal for them to do this. I would not recommend renting with Dexter’s.

Unwanted emails

As far as I know, I have never used Dexters. Then why am I being sent an email from christianp …@dexters.com to my email address and beginning with ‘Dear Dean’. It goes on to ask about a property in Astley House which I apparently own. At least three emails have been sent to me enquiring about the property. My name is not Dean, I do not own any rental property and I first thought that my email address had been hacked and was quite disturbed about that possibility. Can you please explain what is going on. .
