GoogleThis is a review based on being a tennant rather than a landlord, my experience suggests that the agency undoubtedly favours the landlords. The sales side of the agency is run pretty efficiently, though there was a discrepancy between the specification of the white goods advertised with the property and those that were actually supplied, however, the staff are always courteous and prompt to return calls etc. The rating for this area of the agency would be "Very Good". However, the property maintenance side of the business leaves a lot to be desired, if you are considering being a tennant through the agency then I cannot stress enough the need to scrutinise the property and report EVERY imperfection in miniscule detail before signing the inventory. Do NOT be accepting of ANYTHING, even if you think you are being petty you must ensure it is recorded. My experience is such that the staff attending your check-in to your property will have an air of indifference about them and will whisk you around each room, DO NOT get caught up in any excitement of moving in to your new home, you MUST go through the inventory with them and ensure they do actually record comments that you make. When you leave a property you will find that the staff attitude changes and you will be accountable for ANYTHING that differs from when you moved in. You will be considered GUILTY unless you can prove otherwise in every single instance. Additionally, what is utterly unfair is that whilst you are accountable for every blemish or speck of dust they may find when you leave a property, you cannot expect the same level of presentation and cleanliness when you move into a new property. We had to spend a couple of hours cleaning our new home before we could move our possessions in, we just got on with it as we wanted in ASAP. Despite bringing these issues to the staff's attention when checking in, as we didnt take photos then our comments and the property condition are of no relevance and essentially didnt exist as far as Ashton Burkinshaw are concerned. So, as a tennant, be prepared for double standards, make sure everything is recorded and photographed, and be prepared for property maintenance staff that got lost on the way to hand in their application to be a traffic warden.

GoogleDefinitely the worst experience I've ever had with a agency. They messed the entire letting process, delayed to the very last day possible and extremely hard to get in contact with. Just avoid them and you'll maintain your sanity.

GoogleI was in a difficult position having sold my house and unable to move into the one I was buying, and Ashton Burkinshaw were excellent in helping me rent a cottage to see me through until I could do so. Alex put a lot in to make it happen quickly and Dan showed me around when I arrived and made it clear that they were always available to help, and have been available to answer queries.
