GoogleAs first timers renting our house was quite a daunting prospect, but Alex has been brilliant right from the start. He has answered all of our questions and kept us informed every step of the way. Even when he wasn't available, the rest of the team were very friendly and helpful, and Alex would always come back to us as soon as he was able. Our tenants moved in last week and based on the impressive service we've received so far, we know that our property and tenants are in safe hands.

GoogleUsed this company for several years now and they consistently delivery on customer service and efficiency. Used them recently to let my two local flats and within just a few days, they've found me the perfect tenant, taken the deposit, checked them in etc. They take away the whole angst of being a Landlord and having to keep up with the correct everchanging legislation. Would thoroughly recommend them.

GoogleAlex was our contact at Ashton Burkinshaw. He was the perfect professional, his attention to detail outstanding. However, he was also extremely helpful in many practical ways to my wife and myself as we had recently relocated to the UK from Canada. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending AB in general and Alex in particular for anyone looking to rent in their catchment area.

GoogleI can't rate Ashton Burkinshaw highly enough, Alex was professional from start to finish, We have had a couple of things needing sorting out once we moved in but Daniel has been quick to get this resolved & I couldn't be happier with the service & the professional manner they have been dealt with, thank you Daniel, Alex & Zoe, good work :-)

GoogleDidn't inform us the £400 good faith payment was non refundable. Didn't inform us their credit check is 30 times the rent. Changed the original terms so we had to either find a UK guarantor (UK citizen with own home, earning over £32k a year) or pay 6 months rent upfront. Because we couldn't meet their standards (which they only informed us about more than a week AFTER we paid good faith payment) we were FORCED to withdraw our application, and they refused to pay us. After almost a month of back and forth I was fed up and began proceedings with small claims court. They offered to refund £200 (because references really cost them £200... NOT!). The WORST and most money grabbing, lying, thieving estate agents out there. DO NOT TRUST! Get EVERYTHING in writing before you pay a single penny!

Dear Blaizemount, I’m very sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience with Ashton Burkinshaw Lettings Lewes. In response to your Google review, we would like to respond by firstly stating that you were made fully aware that the £400.00 was non-refundable, should you decide not to proceed with the tenancy. As has been explained previously, should the Landlord withdraw from the tenancy, then the £400.00 would be returned to you, however, on this occasion, it was you who withdrew from the application. As you are aware, despite you not passing our referencing criteria and not being able to find a suitable guarantor, the Landlord was still very willing to take you on as a tenant and this was made clear to you, so you were in no way forced to withdraw your application. Furthermore, although we state that the £400.00 “Good Faith Payment” is non-refundable, we always endeavour to be fair to applicants and should they withdraw from a tenancy soon after placing their Good Faith Payment, more often than not, we will do our best to reimburse them. However, on this occasion, you withdrew from the tenancy just a matter of days before the tenancy was due to commence and we had not only sought the required references, but all of the paperwork, including the Tenancy Agreement and inventory had been prepared, hence the £400.00 is needed to cover our costs and also to reimburse the Landlord for loss of marketing time. We are a very fair and honest agency and take pride in offering a very open and professional service to all of our Landlords and Tenants. Branch Manager
