We had a great experience selling our house with Alexander Lewis, having originally purchased the property through them in 2021. As a local Letchworth agent, they really offer a personal and knowledgeable approach. We dealt with Sarah, Ed and Ellie at different stages, and all were professional, responsive and supportive. Brilliant from start to finish. I always felt that Sarah and the team genuinely cared about the outcome of our sale and the experience we had. Supported us end-to-end, proactively and regularly maintaining a positive dialogue with not only us, but the chain below us way after the initial sale was agreed. Sarah and the team were very professional from day 1. Not living locally - Letchworth is a 6hr round trip for us - and with a trying 12 months dealing with Probate and Powers of Attorney, we needed a company that we felt we could rely upon. Sarah was a great help and dealt with the situation sensitively. She understood the various problems completely, came back to us within a couple hours with her valuation for Probate, offered advice and very valuable help, assisted us by holding keys for house clearance and recommended a super gardener to help us with the preparation of the house and garden prior to sale. The Sale ran alongside the Probate and the team at Alexander Lewis kept us well informed of the many viewings and subsequent offers. We had such a great experience with Alexander Lewis. When we put our house up for sale in January 2023, it was a tough market. We decided to go with them after a recommendation from a friend, but also of all the agents we met, I felt Sarah was the most straight forward. This was reflected in their valuation, which took into account the difficult market, whereas some other agents told us much higher values we knew were unrealistic. This is the second time we have used Alexander Lewis Estates, firstly to sell our previous home in Letchworth and now to sell my Wife's Aunts house in Pirton, and both houses sold quickly with the whole process from instruction to completion being seamless. On both occasions Sarah and her team were always there with their professional advice and exceptional customer service, and a constant willingness to go that extra mile, during the whole sales process. We were always kept up to date and copied in to all emails from buyers and sellers solicitors. Also on this occasion, Sarah dealt in such a caring and sensitive way, with my Wife's 87 year old aunt, putting her mind at rest, as well as keeping in regular contact with her, which she really appreciated, at the care home she now resides in. Definitely the best estate agents locally around Hitchin, Letchworth, Stevenage, Hertfordshire area. The way Alexander Lewis Estates is run should not be allowed. We viewed a property with Alexander Lewis Estates on the 8th April this year and within half an hour, made an offer “on the basis that the property was removed from sale and no more viewings would take place”. Our offer was accepted a day later on the 9th April, at which point Alexander Lewis began pressuring us to get solicitors in place to ensure the transaction happened as quickly as possible, which we were more than happy to accommodate. However, despite having instructed and paid for solicitors and spent nearly two weeks working towards a swift transaction taking place, we were told on the 22nd April that the sellers had now accepted a different offer. We were told by Glenn at Alexander Lewis Estates that we could make a higher offer if we wanted, but that there was nothing else that they could do, as they hadn’t still been marketing the property, hadn’t arranged any further viewings and that there had been no wrongdoing on their part because they are legally bound to pass all offers onto the sellers. This was however proven incorrect when we visited the sellers directly to ask what had happened. We were advised by the sellers that even after our offer was accepted, further viewings DID take place - arranged by Alexander Lewis, and that they were encouraged to accept the new offer which was higher than ours. Looking back, Alexander Lewis were always keen to only speak with us over the phone and didn’t provide any written communication to say our offer had been accepted (which from my new understanding is common practise) - we now know why! After speaking with the sellers and hearing the true version of events, we challenged Glenn at Alexander Lewis Estates again who still denied any wrongdoing. They did however agree to pay us back the money owed from lost solicitors fees. I won’t accept any money from them out of principle, but this to me at least firmly proves that Glenn admits there was wrongdoing.

We interview several estate agency's and decided to let Sarah of Alexander Lewis Estate Agency manage the sale, her knowledge of selling properties linked to the Heritage Estate combined with a recommended solicitor who they regularily worked with seemed a good combination, especially as we were not familiar with area.The house was photographed, marketed, accompanied viewings, regular feedback both on property, market conditions and viewers comments.
