TrustpilotHunters P'Head - Terrible customer service!
My recent experience with Hunters (Portishead) has been very poor and unfortunately, due to terrible customer service, I will avoid ever dealing with the company again. I thought it may be wise to share this review as I genuinely feel houses may not be selling in our area due to a certain persons 'selling techniques'. Every phonecall before and after our viewing with this person was incredibly frustrating. They were very rude, abrupt and patronising. During the viewing both me and my partner were almost cringing at the 'selling technique' , it was all about him and his contacts, very much a bragging opportunity. This was followed with a very patronising quick fire lesson on 'how to sell a house'. If the agent had bothered to actually ask questions about us, he would have learnt that one of us had very extensive property sales experience. Similarly, by asking no questions about us, he didn't sell the house to us, he merely opened the door and identified what the rooms were. No attempt of selling the features to fit our needs, nothing. Whilst I initiated some questions about the property, the agent didn't answer me directly and would always look to my partner when speaking - we both picked up on this seperately and found it to be very rude and came across chauvinistic! The agent wrapped up the viewing by saying he had a cash buyer in next (as to try and scare us), we waited...and guess what, nobody arrived. During the multiple calls after out viewing (some were return calls to his voicemails) this particular agent would respond like he didn't have a clue who we were, (well if he had bothered to use his customer service skills perhaps his memory would have served him better) after re-highlighting who I was, I was faced with short answers in a 'you're wasting my time tone'. I left every phonecall seething at how rude this person really was.I think anyone who has dealt in any customer facing role understands that customer service is key, find out about your customer, what do they do, what are their needs, build a rapport etc.I appreciate we were only viewers but fast forward to us selling in the future - there wouldn't be a chance I would use them as my agent. Safe to say, I will not be dealing with Hunters again.

TrustpilotMY ADVICE IS DO NOT USE HUNTERS LETTING…
MY ADVICE IS DO NOT USE HUNTERS LETTING IN PONTEFRACT!!!I would prefer to give NO stars to Hunters Letting Agents of Pontefract. They are a shambles, they dont follow best practice in terms of how they deal with those people that sign agreements with them. I rented a property in the area being charged £700 pcm for a 3 bedroom house WITH garage I was very specific I needed a garage. the house had this and i was informed that everything had been checked at the property when I went to sign the contract. Moved in no working cooker, fridge or freezer, had 3 water leaks from bathroom (that I didnt use) into living room. Also no ability to use the Garage as they didnt give me a remote control for it for nearly 3 months and when they did it would not open but I had a manual handle to wind up and down (but the garage was full of builders rubbish), but of course they said they had checked and it was ready to move into. At the end of the tenancy they deducted £90 from the deposit for pet hair in the main bedroom (Ihave a cat which was always sleeping in its bed on the ground floor plus dead flies on the living room floor). No monies back however for the lack of the garage!! I then overpaid by mistake a further months payment and instead of sending back the full amount of £700 the deducted monies for some reason, no explanation to me. THEY ARE NOT BIG ON COMMUNICATING!!! People may think this is not true, I can prove all of this - there is more but i simply cannot be bothered to put it here. Will be taking legal advice.

TrustpilotAccept no responsibility for misselling
When we purchased our house through Hunters they marketed the property as having a 1.5 acre plot. Since purchasing we have subsequently found out this 1.5 acres is actually less than 1 acre. We have raised this with Hunters who do not consider they have done anything wrong. We have gone through their escalation process for what it was worth and they refuse to accept any responsibility. We are taking further action to understand what laws Hunters have actually broken around misspelling but if anyone has any advice feel free to comment.

GoogleAbsolutely terrible service from both lettings and maintenance. No communication between everyone, must have had to send them images of issues we had with our property a good 10 times over a year period. Then you’re advised that it can take 14 days for your deposit to be returned to you and here I am surprisingly still waiting for this over a month later now. Then every time you call you get told all property managers are busy and they will call you back... surprise surprise they never do. Absolutely joke of a service and I wouldn’t recommend anyone going through this hunters as the past year trying to co-operate with them has been so much more stressful than it should have been. Be glad to see the back of them once I eventually get my deposit back!

TrustpilotDon’t expect any help.
Trying to talk to someone is just ridiculous. No one can do anything and always passes to another person which leads to waiting for a callback that never happens. I called 8 times yesterday hit voicemail each time, was only calling as again the call I was promised didn’t happen.Very happy to be changing to working with another estate agent.

TrustpilotHot air and horse
My original contract was with Thurman & Rye and was acquisitioned by Hunters part way through, but the staff remained the same. They had two flats to sell, so I offered them 3% if they sold both flats within the standard contract period as an incentive to market the properties. They didn’t market or sell a single flat. They just sat there and hoped for RightMove to create the footfall.Worse still was the brochuring of the properties, they couldn’t spell, got the wrong specs and they couldn’t draw the floor plans properly. Loads of promises and assurances from the start etc, but proved to be a load of hot air and horse.

TrustpilotDO NOT USE THIS ESTATE AGENT
DO NOT USE THIS ESTATE AGENT. On the 18.10.2018 I was appointed to see an apartment at 41 Mill West, Sowerby Bridge, HX6 3JH. (I hope the landlord is reading this)We agreed a time of 16:45 but due to traffic my sat nav advised I would be eleven minutes late. I called the office at 16:25 and after a few minutes of waiting for somebody to answer the telephone I was greeted. I advised the lady I was running late by eleven minutes and was told the agent showing me around cannot wait for me because she finishes at 5pm. I asked why would it be booked with only 15 minutes to spare for viewing and the reply I received from a manager at hunters was “you only get five minutes to view the property. The manager I had the displeasure of conversing with was named Nicola Thompson. She is rude, cocky and full of self importance with no regard for customer service or a potential tennents interest or the landlord of the property who contributes to her salary. I feel I had a lucky escape. I hope her superiors read this as well as the landlord who owns the property I was going to view. She needs to enroll in a customer service role and soon, personally I’d fire her but unfortunately this is what happens when you allow the inexperienced and possibly inadequate into a junior management role. I will post on every review site I can because of this women’s attitude with the hope her bosses react and teach her how to behave towards potential and existing customers.

TrustpilotI can't complain about these letting agents as I signed an agreement not too so that we could get some of our deposit back...
I can't tell you about my experience with a recent let as the only way I could get our deposit back was to agree not to complain about any aspect of the tenancy or the process of charges negotiation. I can tell you to be very careful about using this letting agent. They issue a notice to quit towards the end of each assured short hold tenancy rather than let the tenancy run-on so that they can raise the rent, knowing you are in situ and charge new fees for the tenancy agreement. Scrutinise your inventory and the check-out report in detail. Do not suggest you have any cause for complaint.

GoogleAs a first time buyer I knew very little about what I had to do when I initially started and I explained this to hunters staff who helped me through every detail of the process. The staff were friendly, polite and I I felt at ease at all times. The best part about the service was the honesty, at no point did I feel I was been sidelined or given excuses I was fully aware of everything going on at all times. Tracy Richards from the street lane branch deserves a medal for putting up with me panicking all the time and helping me out. All in all a great personal service and would highly recommend using hunters.

TrustpilotWe had so many issues
We had so many issues in our rented property and they never came and sorted them due to this we moved out. We had left our house in a very clean state and only the problems we had when we moved in had been left they tried to take our full bond off us and more. They are horrific and I wouldn’t recommend using them and I certainly won’t be ever again.

GoogleHave been in contact with the office and the offered standard with very limited flexibility, suggests very poor customer service towards tenants.
They just don't understand how to work with the tenants/customers. The last response I've received clearly indicated that the agent was irritated by the questions asked.
Clearly falling short of my idea of an agent who writes about himself to be "a highly motivated and driven sales orientated individual, who excels in going above and beyond customer expectations."

GoogleHunter deceived me and lied to me. I moved to one of their properties and the next day a majour maintainence started at the building. Hunters didn't tell me about it when signing the contract three days earlier. Think of someone drilling a wall beneath your bed every day at 7:30. They said they did'nt know about it while the management of the place said all agencies like Hunter knew about the maintainence in advanced. The maintainence will last for 16 weeks. Isn't this deceiving?
Also, it takes ages to get something fixed at the flat "poor maintenance".
Think twice before you sign anything with them. They might be hidding something you should know.

GoogleExcellent experience every time with Hunters. I changed to Hunters about 5 years ago from another agency and it was the best decision I ever made regarding letting our property in Leeds. I have dealt with many Hunters staff in different dept's but there is always one constant - they are all totally professional, every time! They answers emails promptly, return your calls and take the initiative when required. And as a business owner myself I know this is not easy. In short, the service from Hunters is excellent, and I would highly recommend.

GoogleI am very pleased to be associated with Hunters, its a great Letting agency with one of the most experienced and customer friendly sales/maintenance staff. They do understand your needs and always are very prompt with service. I was very lucky to find them by chance, and its been 2 years i have been associated with them. They are best letting agency in Leeds, and have a lot of good apartments in their kitty. Drop by their office and feel the difference. Their staff , the quality of their apartments, their rents and all the paper work is all spot on. For a person like me who came from a different country the experience was a breeze. I didn't know the process in UK, and the agency understood this, they took me around to show the apartments, helped me settle in, ,stood up all the agencies like gas, water and I was all set. The apartment did have some repairs and they were very courteous to get it promptly fixed. I would definitely recommend Hunters to people. Just try it once, and you will definitely not regret it. 5 stars to the agency and to the team !!

GoogleBy far and away the worst letting agency I have ever used. They have charged for things that never existed, fixed a security door with glue that the engineer said desperately needed replacing, and think it's okay to insult you through email.
They are one of the least reliable most disrespectful property letters I have used, and would advise anyone to not use them, and for anyone who is, be as picky about the condition of your flat as possible to them, and save it all as evidence when you move out, because you'll need it.

GoogleWe bought our flat from Hunters so logically gave the lettings team the first opportunity to be the rental agent. They we were very responsive and provided a great offer beating competition with a great mix of value and service.
The place was let out within a couple of days and the on-boarding service has been very smooth for us as landlords. They've been in touch very quickly to help the tenants settle in, which is really pleasing as we'd like the tenants to be as happy in the place as we would be.
For any landlords looking around, i certainly recommend getting in touch with the lettings team, Maryam or Ruth - although i suspect that all the team would operate to high standards.
Best of luck
