We chose hunters due to their approachability and professional nature from the start (Jack was brilliant at the valuation). From then on Georgia was absolutely amazing, can not speak highly enough about her (without her we would simply have not sold our property). Every single worry or fear we had was dealt with superbly by her and she really is a credit to the company. Would recommend them to anyone looking to sell.

We have had a house on the market for approximately 7 months, and have recently had an offer. Overall all l have found Hunter‘s brilliant to deal with & Hazel has been very helpful explaining clearly the sales process to me. My personal circumstances have made issues difficult at times, though Hazel has always been professional, kind and supportive during this period. Thanks again, Hazel and hoping for a speedy sale. SH

Excellent experience with Hunters

We had an excellent experience with Hunters from start to finish. Richard, Brenda and Adam were fantastic throughout the entire process - always responsive, easy to contact, and happy to help with any questions we had. Everything ran smoothly with no issues at all, and their professionalism and communication made a potentially stressful process much easier. We would highly recommend Hunters to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

Rude, poor service - a must avoid for renters

Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

Recently purchased a property that Hunters Pudsey had listed, as a first time buyer. They were really helpful, attentive and quick to get back to any questions we raised. I found Hunters a step above any other estate agents I've dealt with because you really feel that they care. All the staff we spoke to were really friendly. I've made a note to user Hunters if I need an estate agent on the future and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Excellant service

Moving can be hectic, but Dulcie made it so simple with her support, prompt communication, and quick responses from the first viewing in Cullompton right through to the day I collected the keys. She was professional, reassuring, and always ready to help.

Awful customer service

I remain deeply disappointed in the way my most recent complaint has been handled at their Newcastle branch. The way the branch manager speaks to tenants is appalling! If you have a complaint then don’t expect any sympathy or accountability. We have rented this property for 11 years and in that time, we have been superb tenants but sadly that doesn’t mean anything to them. I anticipate a reply to this which will more than likely attempt to completely contradict what I’ve written here but just know that our experience has not been a positive one!

My experience selling a property in the…

My experience selling a property in the UK with this agent was extremely frustrating. For over four months, they delayed the transaction. Despite my constant follow-ups, they kept giving me excuse after excuse, like mortgage problems or minor issues, saying it would happen next week. Eventually, I told them I would pull out and sell to another buyer, but Matthew insisted I still had to pay. I also want to warn people about this company, be very cautious, because in the contract, they include terms that are unfavorable to the client. Once you sign, they do very little to follow up, and you can’t even be sure if the buyer will complete the deal. Their main priority is just getting you to sign, and regardless of whether the sale happens, they still take your money. And when I tried to back out, Matthew actually threatened me, saying that if I didn’t pay, they would escalate it to other departments. I feel this is a form of intimidation.”

Avoid at All Costs, Dishonest, Time-Wasting and Seller-Trapping Agents . This so-called estate agent completely wasted 5 months of my time with a buyer who was never financially ready. They allowed someone to “buy” my house who didn’t even have a deposit in place. Instead, the buyer was scrambling to remortgage his own property to raise funds, something the agent should have identified in the very first checks. Instead of being honest, they kept stringing me along with endless excuses, empty promises, and delay after delay. I completed every solicitor request, even signed the TR1 form ready for completion. Then, at the very last minute, the buyer suddenly “needed a few more weeks” again. By then, I had already lost 6 months of rental income thanks to their incompetence. And here’s the real trap: their contract is designed for their benefit only. First, they lock you in for 16, 20 weeks. Then, even when they fail, you must serve another 28 days’ notice before moving on. This is not fair trading, it’s a deliberate way to block sellers while they take zero accountability. This company does not properly vet buyers, does not protect sellers, and does not care about the financial damage they cause. My property was treated like a pawn in their game, and I was the one who paid the price. The definition of a fair business is simple: both buyer and seller should be satisfied. If one side is left suffering while the other is endlessly excused, that is not business, it is pure hypocrisy.

We strongly contest this account of events, and we believe certain statements within the review are inaccurate and potentially defamatory. For the sake of clarity and professionalism, we would like to outline the factual timeline of this transaction. The property was listed with us on 30/04/2025. Viewings were arranged promptly and carried out as agreed. An offer at the full asking price was negotiated and accepted. As part of our standard due-diligence process, we qualified the buyer, including full Anti-Money Laundering checks. These checks confirmed that the buyer had an acceptable deposit source and a valid mortgage in principle from a recognised lender. A memorandum of sale was issued on 22/05/2025. Throughout the sales progression, 37 file notes were recorded to track and document progress. These cannot be published publicly due to data protection legislation, but they clearly evidence our ongoing work and communication. Unfortunately, during the transaction the buyer experienced a change in circumstances, resulting in their initial mortgage lender declining the application. The buyer then sought a mortgage with a different lender, which inevitably caused delays. Although the buyer ultimately obtained a suitable mortgage offer, they were unable to meet your required completion deadline. You therefore chose to re-let the property. For context, the average sale progression time in England is currently estimated between 16 - 20 weeks. This particular transaction has progressed 16 weeks before you elected to withdraw in order to re-let. With regard to our terms of business, the contract signed by you is fully transparent. The minimum agency period - incorrectly referred to as a ‘trapping’ clause - is clearly stated on page 1, along with the relevant notice period required. This was also a No Sale, No Fee agreement. After your decision to re-let, we understand you wished for these terms to be altered, but as explained at the time this could not be agreed as it was a no sale no fee agreement and we had already incurred significant marketing costs. We do appreciate how frustrating the home-moving process can be, particularly given the well-known delays within the conveyancing system. However, it is not accurate or fair to attribute these systemic issues to our agency. For the reasons set out above, we do not accept the allegations made in your review, and we reserve the right to refer the matter to our legal team for further consideration.

I was initially impressed with this estate agent during the valuation stage, the person who came out was professional, knowledgeable, and set what seemed to be a high standard. Unfortunately, that level of service didn’t carry through to the rest of the process. Throughout the selling journey, it became clear that there was a disconnect between the initial promises and the day-to-day reality. The viewings felt poorly managed, several potential buyers were brought in who were clearly looking for something completely different (e.g. properties with more bedrooms or a garden, which ours didn’t have). This made it feel like they weren't listening or targeting the right market at all. Additionally, I was disappointed by how passive the agents were during viewings. Rather than actively showing people around or highlighting features, they often just sat in the lounge and let viewers wander around. It didn’t feel like they were making any real effort to sell the property. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. While the initial contact gave me hope, the follow-through from the rest of the team was lacking in professionalism and proactive service. I wouldn’t feel confident recommending them based on my experience.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. While I’m truly sorry to hear that your experience with our service fell short of expectations, I do appreciate your feedback, it helps us to reflect and improve. I’m glad to see that the sale has now completed and to hear that the initial valuation visit made a positive impression, but I am sorry to hear you don’t feel that this level of service was maintained throughout the rest of the process. We take concerns like yours seriously, especially regarding how viewings are managed and the level of engagement from our team. It’s disappointing to hear that you feel the viewings did not align with your expectations and that our agents weren’t more proactive in showcasing your home. This is certainly not the standard we aim to uphold and following on from when we had that conversation previously, it was addressed with our accompanied viewer. Regarding your comment about feeling the people who viewed were not the right viewers due to not having everything they were looking for, I just wanted to explore that a little further. There is a lot of choice for buyers when they are looking to purchase a home and when we register someone, we go through their requirements. This involves key factors like price, area and bedrooms and so on. We then match out appropriate properties. There are many times when someone is looking for particular requirements, however, they can compromise on some things if the house is right for them. For example, someone looking for a 3 bedroom property may compromise for a 2 if there is an extra space or second living area. Many times, people need to see a house in person in order to see what they can compromise on, and what they can’t. While I understand that can be frustrating for you as a vendor, its part of the process for a buyer looking for a home. If someone wanted to view your property who wanted explicit things that your property did not have they would always be challenged prior to the viewing. Once again, thank you for your feedback.

We recently sold our property in Pudsey with Hunters and were extremely pleased with their service. From the initial valuation to the final completion, they were professional, communicative, and efficient. Lavinia in particular, was a pleasure to work with; she was always available to answer our questions, kept us updated and provided valuable advice throughout the process. Hunters were proactive in finding potential buyers and ultimately secured a sale that met our expectations. We would highly recommend Hunters to anyone looking to sell their property in the Pudsey area.

I recently sold my house with Hunters Pudsey and I cannot fault them. From the initial valuation with Jack, to Jackie & Georgia achieving a sale and Lavinia progressing through to completion, I was kept regularly updated and nothing was ever too much of a problem. A sale was agreed within a week after going to best and final offers and completion happened in 10 weeks. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this team to anybody I know wanting to sell or even buy!

Robot refused to give me a viewing

Awful experience trying to arrange a viewing. Spent yonks on the phone with a robot. It asked me unnecessary questions and misheard things; then had to reconfirm everything. Eventually it was happy. I hung up and it started again this time by text. In the end it refused to let me have a viewing unless I told them my spending budget - which I wasn't prepared to do. Do not sell your property through these idiots.

Disappointed

Disappointed, we learned our house purchase had fallen through at the point of us being ready to exchange on our property. We found out that the office had known about it and left it to the agent, who had been looking after us, to tell us after she came back from annual leave! We never got a reason for the purchase to fall through and they even tried delaying us putting an offer in on another property. Luckily this was with another agent and we trusted our gut as the trust with Hunters had gone. 7 weeks later we were in our new home. Felt let down and disappointed with Hunters. This was our first and last time dealing with them.

"Avoid Hunters Property Management

"Avoid Hunters Property Management, Inefficient, Rude, and Unprofessional"My experience with Hunters Property Management has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. They have consistently demonstrated poor service, inefficiency, and a dismissive attitude towards tenant concerns.Ineffective Issue Resolution: Hunters fails to handle even basic maintenance issues. For example, a heating issue during winter was passed to the landlord without any attempt to troubleshoot. I had to step in and take personal risks to resolve the problem myself, only to discover it was a simple battery replacement. Their inability to perform even basic triage highlights their lack of professionalism and problem-solving capabilities.Creating Gaps Between Tenants and Landlords: Instead of acting as a competent mediator, Hunters merely relays messages between tenants and landlords, causing delays and unnecessary misunderstandings. This approach has damaged the relationship between myself and the landlord, as the agency often fails to communicate effectively or accurately.Rude and Dismissive Behavior: The staff frequently respond to concerns with a dismissive tone, making tenants feel unsupported and undervalued. Their arrogant demeanor gives the impression that addressing tenant concerns is a favor rather than their responsibility.Neglecting Tenant Safety and Comfort: Health and safety issues, such as rat infestations and malfunctioning alarms, were not addressed promptly, despite the serious risks they posed. The lack of urgency in handling these matters has caused significant stress and discomfort for my family.Minimal Value Added: Hunters operates more like a messenger than a property management service. They fail to provide meaningful solutions and seem content to pass the burden of responsibility onto others, leaving tenants to fend for themselves.Overall, Hunters Property Management has proven to be unprofessional, inefficient, and dismissive. Both tenants and landlords deserve better. I strongly advise against using their services if you value timely resolutions, respect, and effective communication.

My partner are I are renting a property through Hunters and have been blown away by the efficient and smooth service from the team particularly Amie and Lucy. From start to finish booking the viewong to moving in has taken place over a matter of weeks including over the busy Christmad period with zero delays. Communication has been fantastic, responsive, clear and friendly. I see another reviewer commented on the treatment of tenants and I must second this, both myself and partner have been treated with warmth, friendliness and courtesy despite being renters rather than landlords which is a refreshing difference from other estate agents we have worked with prior. Hunters are acting for us both in the purchase of our new home and the sale of our current home. Myself and my husband have had the pleasure of dealing with four staff, Lee, Emma, Kirsty and Jenny. Lee valued our house and was very easy to get on with, then later very professional on the phone. Jenny does the accompanied viewings. I suffer from anxiety. We had 13 viewings on our property, 7 on the same day more or less one after the other! Jenny was instrumental in keeping me calm during what would have been an ordeal without her and I can't thank her enough. Our house sold in 6 days. I get regular reports from Kirsty as to where we are in the process. I haven't moved for 35 years and find her very patient and informative. Emma stood in for Lee when he was on holiday and her enthusiasm and positivity is infectious. All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending Hunters. The staff are all lovely and no matter who you speak to they are all up to date on your property matters. Extremely important. I truly cannot fault the staff. They have taken some of the stress out of moving house.PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value
