Estate Agent Not Turning Up For Viewing

Scheduled a viewing with Emsleys for a property to rent. Turned up a few minutes before the time and waited outside for 15 minutes. No estate agent turned up to show me around the property, with no phone call from them and no way to contact them since it was past 5pm and their phone line was not available. Called them on Monday to see what happened and if it was still possible to view the property and they changed their story multiple times, said they turned up 20 minutes late initially, then said they were there the whole time and I must have had the wrong house (definitely not), and a whole list of excuses besides simply apologising for not turning up. Did not get a single apology for wasting hours of my time. Would avoid this estate agents, very unprofessional.

Really great experience! Lovely people to speak with , i mainly dealt with Hannah Chadwick from start to finish and she was amazing - not sure if she recognised me when i came to pick up my keys but i hadn’t realised till them we briefly worked in Tesco's together! She was fab then and still is! I also came to the property a number of times and was accompanied by an older gentleman who's name i cannot remember but he was also great, always on time and lovely to chat to. 10/10 thanks for all the help!

We bought and sold with Emsleys and had an absolutely faultless experience. Everything was well communicated and the staff were all approachable and friendly. They explained complicated parts of the process in a way that we understood and kept their cool when we unexpectedly hit a bump in the road. Communication with our solicitor was also second to none. This made us confident in returning to Emsleys for them to give us an up to date valuation of our property this month as we plan to remortgage having had some work done on the house. Bad Service and Difficult Process to View a Property

I can't believe how cumbersome Emsleys' process is for simply viewing a property. After submitting an inquiry on Rightmove, they require you to complete a form, which is understandable, but they insist on including a proposed offer amount, and it's a mandatory field. How is anyone supposed to provide a reasonable figure without first seeing the place? When I called to voice my concerns, the representative explained that the landlord might decline a viewing based on that information. It's quite frustrating!

Relocation.

I relocated from Staffordshire to Leeds and with a person who is disabled this was not only a nerve wracking time but also an enormous move for me. The sale was challenging at times due to the chain (nothing caused by Emsleys) and they were regularly chasing the chain for updates whilst keeping the buyer reassured and updated too. Contacted Emsleys for house valuation and sale. Unlike other estate agents, the valuer, Helen Holdsworth was professional and knowledgeable. She spent time looking at the property and came to a valuation that would sell . Other overpriced houses on the estate, were still for sale, over a year later !. The office in Crossgates in my opinion provided a outstanding service and I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you all.

We were caught up in the chaos created by the closure of PM Solicitors group as one of the buyers further down the chain had used a solicitors in the group. That created a big delay with difficulty getting information about what was happening. Hannah did a great job pressing other estate agents and solicitors to keep focus.

Very professional service from the Garforth office.Emna performed the Valuation and pictures, preparing a very good presentation of our home. She offered valuable advise both before we engaged Emsleys and after.2 Viewings on day after we went live. Offer received the following day. Emsleys were not able to staff the viewings and I had to perform both.They had to do very little work to earn there fee.Lisa and Amber were available to answer queries through out the Sale process. There help was especially appreciated whilst we were in Canada and had to deal with specific buyer concerns.The ProoertyFile website portal to see Sales Progression is a good idea but let down by poor execution. Often updates would only occur on Seller side when we provided the office with an update. The Buyers Progression updates were even slower. The day before Completion, only 12 of 18 steps were showing as done.A knowledgeable, professional and friendly Garforth team helped our house sale progress with few issues. Recommended.

Hannah was fantastic throughout the process. She helped us put our offer forward to the buyer, kept in regular contact with updates, and made sure we always felt informed, something we really appreciated as buyers. When we collected the keys, we were greeted with a lovely welcome box, which was such a thoughtful touch.
