After a stressful time trying to sell my late sister's house on the open market via high street estate agents, I decided to approach Auction House to see if it would be a suitable property for auction. My contact throughout at Auction House was Bryony Grimshaw. Bryony explained the auction process to me clearly and patiently and I was soon able to make a decision to place the house with Auction House for entry in their 26 March 2025 auction. The process was very staightforward and with Bryony's skilful presentation and marketing of the property considerable interest was developed from a number of bidders. The property sold for many thousands more than we were anticipating and it is such a relief that at the fall of the auctioneer's hammer contracts were exchanged and a deposit paid taking away all the uncertainties that can occur when following the conventional sales route. Thank you Bryony and your team for your help with our sale and I have no hesitation in recommending you and your services to others who need to have a fast and efficient sale.

I like this company

I like this company. Very efficient and quick before and after the purchase I made, keeping me informed all the way. Actual auction bidding is easy and they give you time to think and make a bid. I would have given it 5* but you have to make a deposit to bid (which is fair enough), and if you are successful in your bid you then have to find 10% of the purchase price fairly quickly (again ok), however they don't let you use the deposit amount they already have. This is returned to you when they have the 10%. Seems strange to me unless there is some legal thing going on here.

An exceptional experience

Olivia the auctioneer came to value my property she was so positive and enthusiastic, explained everything including all the financial details in a very clear and understandable way. Everything I needed was dealt with from legal recommendation to garden clearance. This was my first modern auction…

This was my first modern auction purchase. I was a bit concerned that I wouldn’t be able to get any information about the property outside of the auction pack.Wrong! I was able to obtain far more information from the auction house, and viewing. I did have a few questions which were put to the vendor and I got the response. So very similar to through an estate agent.Auction house were very clear about the charges that I would be expected to pay and the timescales in when I needed to pay them.Romilly was very good at taking me through step-by-step before and after my successful auction win.The online bidding process was very simple.Within the month I have gone on to buy a second property through auction house.

Last minute decision to bid led to successful outcome

Although I had registered to bid a few weeks ago it was not until the last minute that I decided to bid but staff on the phone were very helpful even though the auction had already started and I was able to bid for the two properties I had already viewed. I lost out on the first one but got the second one at a good price in a very exciting contest and again staff were very helpful in clearing up a misunderstanding that I had formed about the details of the last few bids made. Thank you Helen, Elaine and Sally. You have made the whole process much less stressful than it might have been for someone like me who has never bid at auction before.

From a sourcing point of view

From a sourcing point of view, John Loudon at Auction House Scotland is great. There maybe deals that are too far gone for your investors but we ended up getting our customer more at auction than they were at agreed price with investor market. Great fees paid back as well, better than any co-sourcing fees 👍🏻 I’d highly recommend Auction house Scotland, however my dealings with John in particular were great! Hopefully do some business either way shortly!

Sell with Auction House you will not regret it

After trying to sell my property for over 12 months I decided to try an action in an effort to sell my property. After contacting a couple of other auctioneers I gave the Auction House a call, I spoke to Dan who was instantly different to the other auctioneers I had spoken to, Dan gave me an overview of how everything works but also had a friendly nature, it was at this point I knew Dan & the auction house was the one.I meet with Dan at the property and he answered every question I had thought of since our initial chat, Dan handled all the viewings and was always on hand throughout the process, her worked tirelessly to get me a sale and kept me up to date with everything that was going all the way through. I first spoke to Dan on the 7th of July and we have completed today 6th of September. The process has been so easy I’m not sure I would ever bother going down the estate agent route ever again.
