GoogleNegative reviews are as important as positive ones. I had an incredibly poor experience with JDG and in some ways feel the service I received was nearer to one star, but I also recognise that there are some lovely hardworking people in the team who did the best they could in the space they worked in.
My listing was riddled with errors, one of the key omissions being about parking - despite 4 cars being able to be parked on the premises, the initial listing cited on-street parking. (There were other details omitted that were picked up by Houseclub, who I successfully sold my house with many months later.)
Despite this, an asking price offer was accepted after a first viewing by first time buyers. I suspect that the buyers were supported as minimally as I was as a seller - the transaction was primarily managed in an app rather than by a person. The buyers pulled out just before contracts because of concerns that were common for a property of the age. I suspect the George Cross painted at the roundabout may have also played a factor in their decision, but that is conjecture. Either way, I was left feeling that JDG was not supporting the buyer similarly to how I felt I was not being supported.
Efforts to remarket the property were poor. I had a number of no shows and started to think the viewings were fictional. Overall this was the worst experience I had selling a home - I’ve sold 8 in the last 24 years here in the UK and this left a bad taste in my mouth.
While they work for some, they were the wrong choice for me. I needed the level of personal service I got at Houseclub who seamlessly and successfully sold my home.
If JDG put as much effort in marketing my home as they do in marketing themselves, I suspect this would have been better. Choosing JDG cost me thousands of pounds while my property remained vacant. Even if you’re selling, you’re buying a service - caveat emptor.

I would like to provide some context to ensure readers have a balanced picture.
In hindsight, my biggest regret was agreeing to launch the property as quickly as we did. You were understandably keen to go live before moving out, but the photographer arrived to find the property not fully photo-ready. We should have insisted on waiting. When clients are not present at photography appointments, details can sometimes be missed, including the parking reference, but these were amended once identified.
Importantly, we secured a full asking price offer after the first viewing, demonstrating that the pricing and launch strategy were strong. Unfortunately, the survey raised a number of condition-related points typical for a property of that age. While the buyers shared their findings, the sale stalled when neither party wished to commission further specialist reports to clarify matters. At the same time, the painted flag at the nearby roundabout became a talking point for viewers, which did not help confidence.
Communication is something we pride ourselves on. We have over 550 five-star reviews, many specifically highlighting our responsiveness and support. Our app is designed to enhance transparency, not replace personal contact. I have reviewed our records and can see numerous calls made and messages left, with feedback also uploaded to the app to avoid delays.
There were, however, occasions where conversations became difficult due to the level of frustration expressed during calls and correspondence. While we fully understand how stressful a stalled sale can feel, the tone of some interactions made constructive dialogue more challenging for the team, particularly when we were relaying buyer questions following the survey findings about the property’s condition. As agents, we are legally obliged to put forward all queries and offers, even when they are unwelcome, and we continued to do so professionally throughout.
Selling property can be stressful, especially when surveys introduce complications. While I accept that we were not the right fit for you, I do not believe it is fair to suggest a lack of effort from the team, who worked consistently and professionally at all times.

JDG won my business because their valuer had done homework, researched the locale and provided a data backed valuation.
They provided a useful guide on getting your house picture ready, for the listing photos. Every stage of the process was discussed and agreed.
Viewing appointments were politely handled and feedback from the viewing was prompt and useful. There was early interest in my property, but I was surprised nevertheless, when I accepted an offer 3 weeks and 3 days into the listing.
Louisa, our sales progressor, was superb. I was kept informed every step of the way. Even when there was an issue with my onward purchase, Louisa helped a to facilitate a good solution for me that allowed my sale to complete. Absolutely above and beyond.
I’ve verbally recommended JDG to a number of my friends who are looking at property sales themselves.
I wholeheartedly recommend them to you also.

A comedy of errors, we wanted a property valuation from them, first thing that was strange was there office door was locked,we had to knock to be let it. Then a lady who was on the phone said take a seat, (there was only one), there was a sign that said, first, lets have a coffee, that was a myth, no coffee and,we had to get another one from somebody's computer desk,ok...so we discussed the property and she said said Wednesday or Thursday suit you, yes that's fine. Later we received a call saying ah, I made a mistake Michelle is out of the county, we can do sometime next week. By this point, we thought everything has gone wrong within 15 minutes, what chance have they got of selling the property.
