Dishonest and spivvy

Marsh & Parsons let a flat for me in 2016 and 'their' tenants terminated in December 2016 and left the UK; I re-let my flat through another agent and the tenancy started in February 2017. One of the Marsh & Parsons tenants contacted me from Sweden in February 2019 to ask as a favour for a copy of the signed electronic version of their former lease held as an office copy by Marsh & Parsons. I obtained it and forwarded it to the former tenant. Within two weeks I received a demand from the Marsh & Parsons credit controller Joshua Albright for fees of almost £8000 for the period from December 2016 to date based on 'evidence' he had that the tenants were still in my flat and were still paying the utility bills! This was complete rubbish and a try-on and I openly copied the correspondence with Marsh & Parsons to the subsequent letting agent as confirmation. My last email from Albright was to demand a copy of the subsequent 2017 lease as 'proof' which he also copied to the subsequent agent - an accusation of dishonesty copied to his competitor which amounts to defamation. I referred the matter to Marsh & Parsons CEO Patrick Littlemore and of course have not heard a peep from either of them since - perhaps they are in financial difficulties and are trying anything to shake out cash....Definitely to be avoided and I trust they won't be around much longer.

Had an amazing experience with Marsh and Parsons, Toby is an excellent agent who actually listened to our requirements. He only shown a few flats but they were all according to our budget and needs and this was very important to us. Marsh and Parsons really make a difference on the market, they were always available to speak to us and made everything on their behalf so we will have a good renting journey. Dealing with Gemma Francis has been absolutely amazing. Aside from the expected professionalism and courteousness, she was hugely approachable and friendly so no question felt off topic. She also really listened to what we were after and presented us only with flats that would fit our requirements, as well as throwing in a few wildcards that although not what we imagined, were far stronger contenders and eventually one of them became the flat we made an offer on. During the offer stage she moved everything along so quickly that in less than two days we had a great offer accepted and all supporting documentation processed and signed off. Can't recommend M&P enough off the back of my experience with Gemma, and if I'm moving again any time soon I'll be going straight back to her.

During my recent flat search in Clapham I was contacted by many of the local agents after expressing an interest in viewing several properties online. I must say though that the friendly, non-pushy and personalised support I received from Adam Garner at Marsh and Parsons in helping me find my ideal property was a league above the other agencies. Adam quickly picked up on the criteria which mattered to me and always suggested the right quality of properties at the right price. He went out of his way to arrange viewings to accomodate my hectic work schedule and even helped me get to and from viewings by picking me up and dropping me back at the tube station to save all the running about.
