Terrible service

Terrible service, unethical and will screw you over as a buyer as soon as look at you. Had an issue with our sale, but they stated they'd keep the chain together. They didn't, they have said they were contacted by someone who found out, but there was no need to do this. We were back procedable by the Wednesday. On the Thursday EVENING they showed the property again, having never informed us this was happening.

I really can’t thank the team at Dacre Son & Hartley Morley enough for the way in which they recently handled the sale of my late mums property. From the initial valuation all the way through to completion they were professional, proactive and extremely supportive. But more importantly they cared - about mum and dads home, and about the family. Communications were excellent, honest and nothing was too much trouble. I have moved homes a few times over the years and I have never experienced such a caring and professional service from an Estate Agent. Would highly recommend without question.

Don't make the same mistake 15 others did?

Dacre, Son & Hartley a firm: NOT TO BE TRUSTED... To PRC, This says it all, everyone else is to blame, then to add insult to injury - he has the audacity to suggest in his account - apology I, "have been down this route before"!!! This just shows the contempt with which he treats people - I do thank God that we were not involved with them from the moment he failed to advise the house had already been SOLD the day before we were supposed to view it but, failed to tell us until it was toooo late!!! We were on the doorstep. But, on one point he is right. In my 66 years on this planet I have been down this route before many times - witnessing 1st hand the effect of "cowboy operations" like his destroy other peoples misplaced trust with an operation which is supposed to be there to represent them - and in this case and at least 15 other documented cases FAILED to do so MISERABLY They ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED - Take it from me you don't want to find out just how inept they really are..

When my Mother in law passed away we contacted 3 agents with a view to valuing the property and subsequently selling it. All three were impressive, but Dacres seemed to offer something a bit extra, and this was proved when we came to sell the property. Sharp Practice

As per the 15+ negative reviews already written about this so called Agency NOTHING has changed. Thank God that due to their sharp practice I a cash buyer was not even disclosed to the seller nor afforded a viewing of the property I wished to purchase. I was told," Don't bother going to the house it's just been sold". I was 2miles from the house on the Date and Time agreed for my "Viewing" !!!! It transpired it was sold the day before and they didn't have the courtesy to tell me nor the owner who wanted a "Cash Buyer" NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!!!

Great response to my concern.

I recently put a review on here regarding a staff member Anita. I wish to now add that this lady has has acted beyond and above expectations. She came to our new address and apologised for the day I spoke with her. She was so kind and brought us a moving in bottle of Prosecco. I recently purchased a property from this company through their Knaresborough branch.On the day of completion I was advised by my solicitor after the monies had all been transferred to contact them regarding the release of the keys.I did so and spoke to the rudest person I have come across for a long time called Anita.She was most unhelpful and could not wait to put the phone down on me.I had to stop her several time from disconnecting the call in order to find out when the keys would be available.This is not what you expect on the day of moving which is stressful enough.Customer service training definitely needed

Not much of a salesperson

Matthew Fox from the Saltaire office came and did a valuation of our home, after we showed interest in one of their properties. Various comments were made along the lines of "we don't usually sell properties like this... We usually sell more premium", and then valued it £30k+ below other agents we'd had round (at the time of writing, they have 14 pages of properties for sale on their site for less than our sale price). The entire encounter was very dismissive, very condescending, especially considering we were shopping in a "more premium" price bracket. As it is, we've accepted an offer on our property, after 2 weeks on the market, at asking price, and have had an offer accepted at a Dacre competitor - we had zero interest in considering any more of their properties after that encounter. Either Matthew had no interest in being there and deliberately low-balled, or he's not that much of an expert in the Saltaire area. Whichever the reason, we would not recommend.

I recently sold my property and the Estate Agent of choice was Dacres in Knaresborough. Almost immediately an agent came to my house and did all the necessary administration and within a very short time my house was on the market. A day later I had 3 viewings and my house sold almost immediately. Throughout the process Harriet (Dacres) kept me abreast of everything and regularly just checked in to let me know if there hadn’t been any changes which provided reassurance that she was managing my move and invested. She had a wonderful demeanour and helped make light of the move which as we know is one of the most stressful life events you can experience - so thank you and well done.

poor customer service, very disappointed

Recently saw a house I wanted to purchase and the estate agent dealing with me was also the vendor associated with 3 other vendors. I was told that my offer was accepted and received confirmation of this. I was advised by the estate agent (vendor) that she and her husband who showed us around the house really wanted us to purchase the house although they had received a higher cash offer. In such a short time I built a good relationship with the estate agent and a couple of days ago she advised me to send all my paperwork over including ID and mortgage offer along with proof of the deposit to secure the house, which was done. Only now have I called back to discuss if there was anything else they needed and the estate agent I had been speaking to ( the vendor) advised her colleague was dealing with my case now, only to find out from her colleague ( the branch manager) that they had decided to accept someone else's offer, (although mine was guaranteed to be accepted) who had offered more and in cash? But they didn’t have the decency to tell me, what’s more, disappointing is the fact the state agent I was dealing with ( the vendor) advised me when I just called someone else was dealing with my case , I think honesty goes a long way and as I said to the branch manager had she of told me this information her self they had accepted another offer I would have not taken as bad, especially when she guaranteed that It was me they wanted to buy the house. When trying to explain this to the branch manager I found him very patronising in explaining the process with his shouting tone of voice and that the estate agent didn’t have time to call me as “ she was too busy trying to clean her desk before 5 pm for her holiday” My gosh that is some level of customer service. Very disappointed.
