Pockets of excellence

Like in most large companies, there are pockets of excellence and areas where improvements can be made. Overall, I enjoyed good service but I expected a bit more for the money I was paying, particularly in the communication aspects regarding completion of maintenance jobs. The highlights over the 15 years have been the check-in and check-out reports and the responsiveness of rentals director Sonia De Abreu. The main area for improvement? The three failed attempts to sell the property.

Awful for Tenants

As a tenant, don't go anywhere near this agency. We rented a property with viewings being managed by Dexters and never want to use them again. When we first got accepted for the flat they tried to push us into a 24month contract and would not negotiate at all via email or phone until we got a male (we're all young females) to reiterate our request for a standard 12 Month contract. Now, having to move out of the property, the viewings are being done by Dexters Hackney again and they've been abhorrent. They've failed to notify us of cancelled appointments and left us waiting with no word, they've lied to potential tenants about what is included in the contract (e.g. furniture that isn't the landlords & the type of furniture that would be provided) and even tried to tell the landlord how we've not let them do their job of conducting viewings (despite never turning down an appointment) because we've answered the potential tenants questions honestly and spoke up when the agents lied (as you would hope a decent human being to do). Some of the agents do actually want to do their job and have asked us questions to properly inform the viewers, however the majority just want to secure a sale and will lie to get there.

Have had an absolutely horrible experience with Nicole! I booked a viewing for a house in Mornington Crescent, for 1pm on Wednesday the 25th of November which she didn’t arrive to. When I called to ask where she was, she took 15 minutes to tell me she won’t be coming while I waited outside the property. I expressed my disappointment as my friend and I were really keen on the house and we don’t want to lose it and we e rescheduled the viewing for 1pm on Friday the 27th of November. When she was 5 minutes late for this viewing, I called and was told she’d be on her way and will call me back to tell me how long while I waited outside the property again. She called back to say an offer had been accepted the day before and then told me she had called my friend to cancel, which is a lie. She told me this three times even when I told her she definitely didn’t, and there is no proof of the call. Will avoid Dexters in the area after waiting outside a viewing twice for an estate agent who doesn’t show up, doesn’t know what’s happening, and liesUPDATE: Nicole’s manager reached out to get more understanding of what happened. He sent me brochures for properties that are not what I’m looking for and asked me to remove the review, but at least they’re taking on feedback.

Fantastic Property Management Service

We are always happy with the property management service provided by Dexters as they are a professional and efficient team. And today we are extremely grateful to Donalina Gargrupe, their Property Manager. Our tenant has reported to them a boiler breakdown and a leak and Donalina has promptly responded to the complaint. She took the initiatives to contact different parties with a view to fixing the problem at the earliest, before reporting the case to us. And she is still following up the progress for us. 2nd day without boiler at 15 degrees thanks to the Dexter Wimbledon bad management and bad maitenance team. It is the second time in 6 weeks. First one we had a gas leak from Monday to Wednesday and they doesn’t care. And when Gas company verified and swich off gas at house, it took more than 1 day to come and restart again. No gas, no heater no warm water. When we contact Dexter agent manager their anwer was: i talked with the landlord and you are more than welcome to live the house if you don’t like it (in writing by email)

Really really bad agency

Really really bad agency, worst service ever encountered, especially the hyde park branch.it is always hard to contact them to get things fixed, or get any in-time reply. When we wanted to renew our contract they always pushed back either later or to someone else and then in the end we couldn't make it;Worst part is that they even ignored our deposit refund request (which should be naturally reasonably refunded), even though we check-out several days in advance + hired professional cleaning service they recommended. Again they pushed back to someone else or to the landlord, or to sometime later, anyway after one month we still haven't got our deposit refund back and there's no one taking care of this, they only care about their next tenant, once the deal is made they are just like "vanished", no service at all, completely mess, wouldn't recommend at all !
