We have experienced numerous estate agents, good, bad and appalling. I have often asked for printed details of property only to be sent pdf (no printing costs). However Sowerbys never failed to provide to my requests. Mr Watson at the Kings Lynn office was particularly helpful and extremely professional in his approach, always keeping us updated with the progress of negotiations and what could be done to overcome any problems. My problems started within the first two weeks of signing to sell with Sowerby's Kings Lynn. I had three realtors come and value my house. Sowerbys gave the highest valuation. I had a very long conversation with the valuer regarding the higher valuation, as I had a situation previously in the 'States where a higher valuation was given to secure the selling contract. I was assured by the valuer that this wasn't the case and that they had potential buyers on their books ready to buy. I will also add that this realtor was also the highest cost of the three interviewed by around 50%. Nothing happened for a couple of weeks, then came the call asking me to lower the offer price to a level on par with one and lower than the other, they did agree to drop their commission quite substantially based on events. In the end they did get a potential buyer for almost 50k below the original valuation. The sale after over 6 months fell through. I wanted to put the house on the market with a different agent, Sowerby's insisted that they serve their 28 days notice after all that I had gone through and believe it or not I had a call from the original valuer asking me to reduce the asking price yet again, suggesting a price, some 70k lower than the original valuation by him. Suffice it to say, I am no longer with Sowerby's Kings Lynn. The one saving grace about Sowerby's Kings Lynn is Grace Read, excuse the pun. She was exemplary in every respect throughout the process.

What can I say except for exceptional! From the moment we called to view our house to the moment we exchanged every touch point was positive, informative and concise. Grace helped us with the purchase of a one bedroom cottage (which we are so happy with!) that in relative terms was quite a modest purchase in terms of stature and value and on the face of it should have been relatively straight forward. For a number of reasons though it was anything but! Without going into detail it became very complicated and stressful and I'm sure without Grace's involvement and perseverance it would not have happened! My husband works within agency and knows that many agents might have given up. Grace however went above and beyond to keep things on track and we are so so grateful!! Thank you Grace.

We put our house on the market with Sowerbys and found their initial advice about valuation very helpful. The brochure they produced really showed our property at its best and we soon had a number of viewers. The property sold very quickly, and we were then able to look for a property to move into with confidence. When we found the property we wanted there were a number of complications with the purchase. Grace at Sowerbys King's Lynn was fantastic. She made sure that all parties were aware of the current situation as it evolved and was very good at chasing the sellers conveyancers who were difficult to deal with to say the least. In the end our sale and purchase went through to the agreed timescale which was, in no small part, due to the way Grace involved herself in the whole situation. We are very grateful and would not hesitate to recommend Sowerbys.

We bought our first house through Sowerbys. We had contact with Becca and Grace and they were nothing but helpful. They made sure to keep us updated the whole way, and even called us late one evening, as soon as the offer had been accepted, so we didn’t have to wait until the next day to hear! (As they knew we were anxious!) The whole process took quite some time, due to solicitors etc (not Sowerbys) and Grace was constantly in contact with us and chasing anyone that needed it, to try and speed up the process. After our last property was significantly undervalued (& thankfully sold for £13,500 above the asking price after a bidding frenzy) we wanted a more honest valuation for this property & decided to give Sowerbys a go. Sam came out & after shuffling his papers multiple times, sitting at our table, gave us a valuation similar to lots of unloved & neglected properties, which made ours look like Buckingham Palace. This was highlighted when the next estate agent (look at my other reviews for a clue) valued it for £90,000 more that Sam had done (& we are talking properties under £350,000 here) Do estate agents under value for a quick sale? I'll let you decide. Not impressed at all with this company.
