TrustpilotIncompetent. They assured me it was a good tenant
They assured me it was a good tenant. When I received the referencing it turned out she wasn't earning enough to pay the rent, had lied about her job and salary, had seven addresses in eight years. I only learned this three days before she was supposed to move in. I stopped the deal and decided to sell. Allen and Harris still want their fee. The demand is Β£300 more than on the contract. Total incompetence.

So poor experience with them. Before peyment was taken, the Sequence Brooker was ringing every day. After payment made, totally change atitute. Lack of communication, no reply, ignoring, waiting forever. Because not receiving support from broker I made bad mistake pull out from property I was hoping to buy. Always been worrying when problem because this broker is not with you when really need. They change big amount of money for lifetime service. But no service after payment.

TrustpilotBest estate agent ever
I used Allen and Harris to purchase a house and Connor Sherman was my estate agent. He was so friendly and helpful. Kept me updated throughout the whole process and would chase up any enquiries that I had immediately. Also, Liam Tresillian, the mortgage broker at Allen and Harris, was extremely helpful and found me the best mortgage deal. I highly recommend using Allen and Harris.

TrustpilotTERRIBLE
Thatβs is me again. After a very stressful negotiation with this company we decided to continue in the purchase of the apartment and couldnβt be worst. After a lack of information in the home report that builds with more than 4 floors bead to have lift by new regulations and just a few lenders accept to mortgage apartments in 5 floors without lift we got one. Lender tried 3 times to organise the service but Alen and Harris have not organised the appointment so they came to us telling the seller will put apartment back to market. Terrible service, terrible organisation, terrible customer service. Maybe now they will sell to their friend.

GoogleI was absolutely delighted with the whole process of selling with Allen&harris. From the valuation, marketing and sales from David, to the organising viewings and keeping me in the loop with Connor. Property sold in 4 days. Got about 20K more than I thought I would get.
I would highly recommend and if I was selling again I know who to go to without hesitation. X

TrustpilotAllen and Harris Abingdon, Oxon
Allen and Harris Abingdon were the agents for our onward purchase. Firstly Katherine and then Gemma were really good at keeping us informed what was happening. Much better than the agents who were selling our property. On what was a very long ongoing sale and purchase through no fault of Allen and Harris Gemma worked hard at trying to keep the chain active and to find solutions to push things on. She was always a pleasure to chat to and at the times things were not going well for us a positive voice to talk to. Thank you Gemma and Katherine

GoogleI requested a viewing of the property that wasn't granted. Instead, during the first call, the agent was insisting on me getting a valuation first from their agency! I said I didn't need it but they never proceeded because they had to do the valuation form first. They hung up when I said that I am not sure I wanted it. So, you won't show me the property if I don't let you see my own house first, really? They asked how much we paid for our flat, then what's the exact flat number etc. This is unheard of, guys. Utter rubbish.
P.S. I appreciate you looked into my feedback and re-listened the conversation, thank you for your answer. I don't remember being notified that the call was being recorded. It does not change my impression of the call though because I felt under pressure to go ahead with filling in the form for your valuation. I mentioned clearly that I already had a valuation and even gave details about it. I have been dealing with other agencies for over 4 months by now and this is not the usual procedure to give all my details prior to the property visit. When I said 'they hung up' - it felt like it too as the phone call was wrapped up as soon as I said 'no valuation'. It didn't mean I didn't want to see the property. On another note, if you say it's for safety and security of your agents, can you explain why I was asked about my previous valuation on the flat and the amount of it? How does that relate to their safety, sorry but I don't see the point. This is just to clarify my position - I wasn't explained that your form is extensive and it is for the viewing. Based on the above, I would avoid any further contact with the agency. I would like to make sure that you delete any details of the conversation that you currently store with my phone call recording, thank you. Please confirm that my details have been removed along with the call recording.

Hello Tanya,
After contacting the local team about your concerns, who have re-listened to the conversation you had with our centralised booking team, I am sorry if any confusion occurred during your call. I have been advised you informed the agent, whilst registering to view, that you had not yet placed your own property on the market. This prompted the agent to ask if you would like to consider your own valuation to which you initially agreed. Whilst trying to assist you with this it is noted you changed your mind and were reluctant to provide your home address. For the safety of all our employees and sellers we do require this detail in order to register you on our systems and generate the viewing request and as such the agent was unable to fulfil your request at this time. I am sorry if this was not explained fully during the call and note that it was yourself who spoke last prior to the call ending
If you wish to contact the local team directly, please ask for the Branch Manager, Natalie, who will be more than willing to assist you directly it you have not already done so.
Alternatively, please contact us via complianceresidential@sequencehome.co.uk with full details so that we can look into this concern further for you. Kind regards, Scott, Customer Relations.

TrustpilotThank you Maisy and Olly.
A big thank you to Maisy for her kindness, patience and professionalism throughout our buying experience this week. We are moving into Shepton Mallet from Jersey (although my husband was born here) and only had a week to view properties during half term as I am a teacher. On arrival we didn't think that we could be in a position to put in an offer as although we have sold a property at home it hasnt been fully processed....Maisy has made this totally possible for us and we are now really excited to start our new life here soon.Olly was also great at the start of this weeks journey and yesterday when offers were being discussed. From beginning to today when our offer was accepted we have been 100% happy with Allen And Harris.Thank you all π

TrustpilotLIARS,MONEY HUNGRY DISHONEST
PORT TALBOT OFFICE - The worst experience I've ever had with an estate. I had a pleasant viewing with the owner who showed me around when the estate agent wasn't available. Loved the house a d spent 2 hours chatting with the owner who seemed more than keen to sell to me, even asked me to exchange numbers to keep each other updated as this agent allowed his last sale to fall through and never notified him.Later the same day I txt the owner and offered full asking, telling him he could take as much time as needed to decide. He replied instantly and accepted. I emailed the agent and formally submitted my offer as well as my mortgage in principle proof of funds (far more than enough to Substantiate my offer) I phoned the next working day a d the agent Sarah Rowlands was instantly offish and dismissive, huffing down the phone and acting completely put out that I had called. She was annoyed me and the owner had contact and told me nothing had been accepted and viewings would go ahead still.I heard nothing til I was contacted by Rachel in there mortgage team. I told them I had already got a lender I was happy with but was pushed in to chatting with her anyway. After talking through the mortgage info I was then called yo say my offer was accepted and it would be taken off the market....that was until dat laterite Rachel had decided upon herself to go behind my back and speak to my lender and tell me they wouldn't lend to me...pure rubbish, i had personal contact with my lender and was told that agents tend to use intimidating and bullying tactics to force people to pay for their services. As soon as I refused to pay for the agents in house mortgage service I was ghosted and then told my offer had been gazumped and owner stopped contact. I took it as a blessing in disguise as I would never deal with Sarah or Rachel or this crooked company. A week after that I wascontactedby the owner again who assumee I was still buying...I had to be the one to tell him that his agents lied to him and me and that I was messed around and they declined my offer without his knowledge.Avoid these unprofessional, dishonest, useless, crooked liars at all cost!!!

GoogleNightmare. Contacted them to view a property we thought about buying. Asked to see the home report and arrange a viewing. Got put through the Spanish inquisition before we could arrange a viewing. Within 30 seonds of the call finishing, the phone rang again. This time it was their head office asking the same questions I had just answered! When it came to arranging a viewing we couldn't agree a time that suited. They said they would need to contact their viewing agent and would get back to us the next day. That was four days ago and still no reply. I realise we may miss out on property but will not be considering any property from A&H again.

TrustpilotFirst time buyers - Excellent team
We were buying as first time buyers, we had no idea what we were meant to be doing and when. Our sale wasn't the easiest due to many complications from the developers, but Carly and the team really went above and beyond for us. I was able to call nearly every other day and they'd all be cheerful, tell me I am not a fool for constantly chasing, and just being absolutely lovely. I highly recommend Allen and Harris! Their customer service is on another level and they would bend over backwards if that would help the process move smoother.

TrustpilotVery little communication. AVOID!!
Avoid this company at all costs. I used the PPAISLEY branch, I was misquoted on the fee cost and over quoted on the value of my property. So, it cost me MORE to sell and my property was worth LESS than they said. After taking time off work to allow Allen & Harris' photographer in my property I ended up asking them to use my own photographs. I was told I would be contacted once a week with an update, but this rarely happened. Prior to my flat selling I hadn't heard anything for over 3 weeks. I has to ask them to check viewers were actually viewing a property that fitted they're search criteria. A constant reason a buyer wasn't interested was that it was in the wrong area. Goodness sake! Google maps!! Check with the buyer where they DO want to stay!! That was beyond strange, why view somewhere that is not in your search area? I honestly doubted half my viewers even existed. Weekly calls from the office from Leanne soon stopped, these calls were embarrassing as Gary who sold me on using Allen & Harris had assured me that my property was in high demand. This was obviously not the case OR this company were not doing their job. I eventually had to chase up this company to make sure they were doing all they could to sell my property. I think they were more relieved my property sold than I was, I got ONE phone call to say an offer was being initiated and that was the last I heard from them. Everything then came thro my solicitor. They did practically NOTHING to earn their over-rated fee. Avoid this company at all costs. I have only awarded 1 star as there is no option to give ZERO.

TrustpilotAvoid Allen & Harris at All Costs
If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Allen & Harris has been nothing short of a nightmare. They have proven themselves to be disorganised, unresponsive, and utterly devoid of empathy or professionalism. Here's why:1. Horrendous CommunicationFrom the outset, communication has been abysmal. They failed to inform us of critical changes in tenancy terms (such as extending a 6-month contract to 12 months) and took months to respond to emails about important tenancy changes. When they finally responded, they often appeared confused or uninformed, adding unnecessary stress to an already challenging situation.2. Delays and MismanagementEssential repairs took months to address. A broken window, reported in March 2022, wasnβt repaired until July after multiple visits where contractors only measured the frame without progress. Scheduled property visits were frequently missed, wasting my time and causing disruption with no apology or explanation.3. Uncompromising and Rigid ApproachWhen I went through a personal breakup and sought to amend the tenancy arrangement, their inflexible, punitive approach compounded my stress. Rather than offering support or solutions, they imposed excessive fees and unreasonable demands.4. Unfair Treatment of TenantsAllen & Harris treats tenants like afterthoughts, despite the fact we are paying clients. Their disregard for tenant wellbeing became glaringly obvious when my former partner, who met affordability requirements, was still subjected to unfair guarantor demands. This lack of decency and respect is inexcusable.5. Profit Over PeopleItβs clear that Allen & Harris prioritises profit above all else. The landlord's interests seem to be their only concern, with no consideration for the tenants who make their business possible. The handling of our tenancy transition felt like a thinly veiled attempt to push us out and raise the rent to a more lucrative amount.Allen & Harris epitomises everything wrong with estate agents today: exploitative, unempathetic, and incompetent. If you value your time, money, and mental health, avoid this agency at all costs. They have caused me and my former partner immense stress and anxiety, and I wouldnβt wish this experience on anyone else.

TrustpilotWould give zero if I could
Would give zero if I could. We had lots of issues with the house and the estate agents just ghosted us. To this day, they still owe me money for the keys because they couldn't even manage to get keys cut right (never heard of checking?). I keep asking when it will be returned and Lewis just says "I will get back to you". Special shoutout to Lewis for being particularly useless on this matter and for maintenance issues overall. They left us with broken furniture for a whole year- they kept saying they would send someone to fix it but never did. The house had an awful mould problem- they sent someone over to give quotes to install extractor fan in bathroom but nothing came of that. They tried to milk money out of the deposit but we argued so they backed out (their claims had no merit). Would not recommend. They don't check that houses are suitable to live in, and they don't respond or care if there's an issue with the house. Not responsible, practical, or reliable.

TrustpilotShockingly bad company to rent from
Shockingly bad company to rent fromOne of the worst renting experiences we have ever had, doomed from the start to finish. Left us in unsafe conditions with mould, broken shower and flea ridden carpets with an overwhelming stench of dog despite telling us the property had been professionally cleaned.Eventually after numerous kick offs they brought in cleaners who agreed the state of the property was close to inhabitable. They noted the landlord had tried to use paint to cover the extent of the mould and that it was only likely to get worse. We had agreed prior to move in to bring our pet, however this was completely missed off our application by the team and subsequently caused another kick off from our landlord, trying to void our rental agreement and request our pet was re-homed due to their grave error. They claimed the building was a listed building and we ideally were wishing for the single glazed windows in the living room to be replaced due to how cold it gets during winter despite heating on. This was refused even though the bedroom and kitchen windows had been replaced and there was no record of the property being listed. Lastly as our tenancy agreement was coming to the end, we were surprised with the news that the flat didnβt have a Carbon Monoxide alarm despite passing the gas safety before move in, this means us living there was completely illegal due to having gas appliances but yet they continued to work with the same landlord and readvertise the property for rent.Overall there is a complete lack of care or interest for tenants at all and they seem to completely priortise getting money from landlords. They do not care for people in the slightest.

TrustpilotShambolic Company
Sold our house with Ayr/Kilmarnock branch in July this year. Gave them keys as they were organising the viewings as we were going on holiday. My daughter went to my house to collect car keys and both our front and back doors had been left unlocked. She called me to advise and when I phoned them they denied this and obviously we had no proof. It was basically our word against theirs. We were spoken to and treated as if we were stupid.
