Trustpilot2 weeks later and I'm the one chasing to hear back about my offer. useless
bovis homes, vistry. they're all the same. I gave an offer for an apartment at brunel street works in canning town and it took a week of chasing to hear back with a counteroffer. Within 30 minutes I replied - this was 1 week ago. How pathetically lazy do staff need to be? and how useless are the people employed here that this is how they act when they are trying to sell a property...NOT a property they've sold and now don't care about. This is them not caring about selling the property in the first place. Talk about a red flag. If this is the pathetic level of service when selling imagine what it would be like in the aftersales.I've had to chase these clowns and no one came back to me. No one chased. No one bothered. Then 1 girl responded saying she'll chase up an answer on Monday - it's now Monday evening. I don't know who the bigger fools are - the staff or the people running it but it's clear the employees just scroll on Instagram and pass time until they can go to the pub. hands down the biggest disgrace I've come across in property and customer service

TrustpilotFurrowfields, Bishops Ithington
Furrowfields, Bishops IthingtonA shambles of a builder, avoid like plague! Bovis Homes has the same behaviour the company had in 2017 when it was forced to compensate furious buyers! Sales promises anything to get you into a buy, and once you're in for a while you can start noticing poor workmanship all over the place and low quality materials used. Customer care is useless so you can kiss goodbye to your warranty! It doesn't follow-up on issues, keeps apologising for not acting when it should and clearly waits on people to simply give up so they don't need to actually fix anything. Most of the contractors used by Bovis are just not good and they try all sorts of shortcuts instead of doing a proper job. Aside from that, even when a contractor makes a note to the builder on what needs doing to fix an issue, Bovis doesn't do anything! Highly inflated house prices for a low quality workmanship and build and non existent customer care!I had issues with water polling inside the front door when raining since I moved in (Nov 2019) and it's still not fixed today. Other issues with flooring not fixed since a year almost, ticking pipes in ensuite which simply got ignored! Previous site manager (Ian) would not genuinely fix issues, only do poor workarounds and tell you lies!

TrustpilotRadford Semele, Crown Hill
Radford Semele, Crown Hill. Nightmare it has been!!!! From day 1 noticed damaged in the whole, Kitchen doors falling apart damaged worktop, bathroom leaking, shower sliding doors not fixed straight, plaster cracked in every room, damaged carpet (which we paid for) and so I can go on. Snag list was over 4 pages after 7 days. 7 months in, but we are still not passed over to customer service and work is not finished. Every workman they send over to carry out job, needs to be managed or monitored. Mess left behind, is another issue.I don't normally do reviews, but we purchased a home for our family, but even after months it still feels like just a house. Please if you are purchasing Bovis home, inspect every room thoroughly and get it fixed before completion... For Bovis home sales team, it’s just bonus and for management it’s profit but most of us it's lifetime hard work and dream...

TrustpilotCharlton Hayes Estate in Bristol
Charlton Hayes Estate in Bristol. Very, Very, Very poor ground maintenance, absolutely shocking. They make it all look nice when you move in, once all the houses are sold, they abandoned the site and never come back, they appoint an "estate management company" to carry out repairs, but the management company just charges you admin fees and does absolutely nothing. However Bovis still owns the land, so the council can not carry out any cleaning or maintenance. They do no maintenance, recently they didn't even bother to cut the grass for months, then they turned up with a strimmer and shaved it down to the bare soil, it's all dead and patchy now. Not to mention that they didn't even bother to pick the litter from the grass and shredded plastic and cardboard and whatever else was on it in to one million pieces and left it all. It looks like a disaster zone. If you can please avoid, I will never move to a Bovis built estate in my life, living here once was enough.

TrustpilotAbsolutely awful experience with Bovis
Absolutely awful experience with Bovis. Have had nothing but plumbing problems and issues with my drains since I moved in nearly three years ago. Contacted them again in March to tell them that a previously reported issue has resurfaced, only to be told that it was a "latent defect" and that I would now have to pay to have cameras put in my drains. After arguing that this was not a latent defect, but an ongoing one, they eventually sent their site manager to my property, who finally, after 3 years, confirmed that Bovis have incorrectly installed my drains and that the reason my toilets keep blocking and that my garden smells of human waste is because of a building defect!!!! We are now another three months down the line and Bovis have not been to rectify the issue. They now ignore my emails and do not answer telephone calls. Their customer service manager in the southern branch, is absolutely useless. When I spoke to him, on the one occasion, three months ago that he could be bothered to contact me, he was completely uninterested in anything I had to say, spoke over me constantly and lacked any basic customer service skills. I feel that the only way my issue will now be resolved is for me to take the matter further and to seek legal advice. I have also now reported the issue to my local authority, as I believe that blocked drains pose a health and hygiene issue to myself and my neighbours. I would avoid buying from Bovis like the plague.

TrustpilotDO NOT BUY WITH BOVIS!!!!
I think I may have written a review in the past but after 5 years of being in this badly thrown together house that we spent a good amount of money on, we’re STILL having to pay to get things done that we shouldn’t be spending money on. We, like our neighbours are now going to have our toilet ripped out and replaced. There have been so many problems and now it’s leaking in to my hallway under the carpet. When we removed the panel to have a look we found cans of drinks that the builders chucked and left inside the unit. Just DISGUSTING! My house smells of mould. I’m livid. Do NOT give your money to these scammers! They don’t care once they get your hard earned cash 🤬I will NEVER buy a new build ever again. Bovis have simply ruined that for every company!

TrustpilotBovis the corporate cowboy builder.
Bovis is the worst builder in the UK. They are bunch of liars and the customer care does not exist. Quality of their build is poor and all they want is get hold of your money and that will be it. We are in Oxfordshire and we will advise anyone intending to deal with this company to go elsewhere because you will regret dealing with Bovis. We read reviews about the company last year July 2020 - most of these reviews were negative but we still chose to ignore the reviews which proved to be the greatest mistake of our lives. We moved into our property 2020 and we are still chasing them May 2021 to put things right from our snag list. Walls are uneven, switch meant to control the induction cooker controls the fridge (how could a mistake like this occur?). Water leaks into parts of the house. Internal painting has patches, wall cracks, the list is endless. Similar stories from neighbours that also bought from Bovis. If you have the misfortune of making contact with their so called customer service department, you will either be ignored or they respond with lies. Bovis now disguising itself under a new name "Vistry" is nothing but a corporate cow bow builder. If you choose to go with Bovis after reading this review along with others, please choose your own solicitors and not one recommended by Bovis. We chose to go ahead with Bovis because we liked the house design and we got emotionally attached. Please run more than mile away from them if you are not yet emotionally attached otherwise get yourself ready for serious heart and head aches. We once raised our frustration with their CEO but we got no response back which tells you that they are rotten from the top down.

TrustpilotHouseofbrokenpromises.net is what we received from Bovis
Houseofbrokenpromises.net is the perfect words to describe what we have experienced. Moving into our forever home in Stortford Fields back in Dec 2018 should have been one of the most happiest moments of our lives. It was what we had dreamed of. This was what we had worked so hard all our lives for. It is what every new home owner wants to feel - a sense of achievement and relief. This was far from the truth. Standing in the doorway of our new home, my husband said what exactly I was thinking ... "Oh crap, what have we done...." We could never have ever expected, from that moment on, that our lives would be changed forever...Breach of Regulations ...Within weeks, we had pages of issues raised with Bovis. Months later, we uncovered numerous serious breaches of Regulations, which to this day, after 2 years, are still outstanding causing more damage to the property. We longed to put our stamp on our new home, but couldn't until all the major issues have been resolved. The property, in its current state is non-compliant to Building Regulations and NHBC Technical Requirements and therefore is unsaleable unless these issues are corrected. By not rectifying the current non-compliant issues, Bovis has breached the legal contract for sale which states in condition 7 that “ the seller will construct the dwelling in a good and workmanlike manner; in accordance with planning permission and building regulations approval; to the standards required by the National House Building Council (NHBC)."Our current outstanding snag list is 52 pages long. Issues raised with a developer, within the first 2 years of warranty, must be put right by them to meet the responsibilities of Section 2 of the Buildmark. Therefore, the ultimate question is, why has this not been the case? We have concrete evidence including an Expert Witness Report by an independent FRICS Surveyor with over 35 years post qualification experience of construction and property matters. We even have written confirmations, which in a court of law is legally binding. Yet still they want to ignore us. I should be resting as I'm battling an incurable cancer, but I can't because I'm also fighting Bovis with this injustice. Read about our nightmare experience at houseofbrokenpromises.net Share to help us and others get heard. Thank you.

TrustpilotDropped out of sale
I recently was in the process of buying a property from Bovis - however, fortunately it fell through due to enormous delays and mistakes by their solicitor. Having read reviews on here I always had my eyes open for potential issues that could pop up.The sales team that I interacted with were incredibly friendly and professional, however, there were clear breakdowns in communication within Bovis internally as they told me several times that snagging issues had been fixed, despite this not being the case.

TrustpilotIf I could give lower than 1 I would they are a disgrace
If I could give lower than 1 I would. Bovis are an absolute disgrace. Our so called premium home has been appalingly built. Some examples: parion not laid to specification causing water to get into the kitchen ruining the tiles. Those tiles have now been up for over a year as Bovis delay and delay. All our showers were bodged in and have had to be replaced. Entire flooring upstairs badly installed so it bounces, sags and isn't properly supported. Stairs incorrectly installed. Mortar weak and crumbling. Thermostat on immersion not correctly wired so water was scalding hot, kitchen not properly finished. Boiler cupboard made from offcuts and many more serious issues. Add to this the thousands of pounds of damage their contractor caused to our home which Bovis simply did nothing about despite multiple complaints and which Bovis are now arguing about sorting. Rather than hang their heads in shame all they do is make everything long winded, slow, obstructive and difficult. They lie, go back on agreements, cite irrelevant NHBC standards and simply try to wear you down so you give up. All they care about is your money and keeping you happy until you give a good rating in the 8 week NHBC survey and then you see the real Bovis. Their culture is toxic and all they care about is saving money. They are an absolute disgrace and we know that, on our estate many others feel the same. Avoid Bovis at all costs they are liars, cheats and totally incompetent

No ZERO otherwise it would be.Vile company and utter liars who work for them!Despicable treatment and after care. I dispise every person except 1 at this company (she no longer works for them).Changing plans as they wanted to, falsifying records, deleting documentation, breaking DP laws, 14 months and still have issues reported the day we moved in. Wish we could give the house back! I DO NOT recommend this company or the people within it. Regional Directors and MDs clearly do not care about their customers either. Customer Service.... UMMMM there is none.I work for a housebuiler and would never treat people the way we have been treated or allow them to continue in a house with so many faults. 14 months plus and still not sorted. TrustpilotWe bought our Dream Home from Bovis but it has turned out to be a nightmare!
We bought our Dream Home from Bovis but it has turned out to be a nightmare! We bought our "premium" property in June 2019 and it has had so many fundamental build defects! From incorrectly wired hot water tank that bypassed the thermostat causing the water temperature to be higher than the point of scalding, to having weak mortar whereby all the mortar to half the height of the house has had to be removed, the flooring upstairs has bodged noggins, not been glue or affixed and the boards fall short of ending on the joists. The stairs have not been installed properly. The patio was built too close to the house causing water ingress and damaging the Amtico flooring which has now been up for over a year and these are just but a few of the defects. Bovis employ delaying tactics, take months to book work in, 18 months from first reporting the weak mortar and it is still in progress, over a year our kitchen flooring has been up and still we don't have a date when it will be rectified. They do not monitor their contractors and even when we have highted to them that the contractors are not working to HSE regulations they have repeatedly failed to do anything about it. They have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to our property and do nothing but argue about rectifying. I could go on for hours listing the hundreds of snags and defects we have encountered in this "premium" property, suffice to say if I could give them a lower score I would - avoid at all costs!

TrustpilotUtterly useless cowboys
Terrible customer service once the house has sold. Took them over a year to inform Thames Water we had moved in leaving us with a huge bill and after telling us they would cover the bill as they messed up are now telling us they won’t do anything. They have done the same to our neighbour and are not willing to help one bit. Totally useless company. If buying from them expect to wait months and months after talking to them and chasing them to get anything sorted, no response from their customer service. Also check the amount of rubbish they leave under your bath, under your turf etc. We found a piece of reinforcement bar sticking out of our grass and tonnes or rubbish under the turf, no wonder it died within months. Terrible company wish I had of just purchased an older house as would have been less hassle completely rebuilding a house than getting Bovis to come and fix a door lock... avoid the cowboys, they are a pathetic excuse of a developer.

TrustpilotDreadful build quality and design
Dreadful build quality and design. Little thought given to logical layout. Therefore if you are in a semi detached they put both lounges next to each other with a breezeblock and plasterboard partition wall. Brilliant work Bovis! You can hear everything. Thudding footsteps also because they put the flimsy floor across both properties to cut corners. I expect a little noise but I may as well be living with the neighbours. This being a £370k house by the way. Weatherboard outside coming off after a year and a half. They don’t care. They are sunning themselves in the Caribbean with the profits they make for lousy houses. This country is bottom of the heap in Europe for bad building and Bovis at the forefront.

Trustpilot*** Over 3 Years to fix a porch and the street left like a bomb site ***
If I was to say that I have several emails regarding sorting out a porch would be a massive understatement. I have checked my inbox and have well over 100.Moved in September 2017 and noticed beginning of 2018 that the porch was peeling on our Southwold. Firstly they tried bodging this up by painting it (bare in mind the porch is plastic). As you can imagine this did not work.Fast forward to summer of 2020 (Yes 2020) and we finally had our porch replaced. This has been after years of fob offs about the porches being sent damaged and me constantly chasing for a resolution. The porch was fitted while I was working so it was only upon completion that I could inspect it. The porch fitted was worse than the original. Substandard quality finish and filler all over it. So noticeable it would question as to who they have supplying these porches.Since this there have been 2 porches sent out to us to be fitted and these are even worse quality that what they have already fitted (didn't think it would be possible but it is) which I have refused to accept. We have currently been left with sourcing an alternative ourselves. We have sourced this and put the cost forward to Bovis which they have accepted however expect us to fork our thousands of pounds of our own money and wait until they are ready to refund us. I have requested a same day transfer as I am sure many people can agree that a few grand is not pocket change. As it stands I have been waiting the best part of 3 weeks to be told if this is possible or not. From a residents perspective. Our area of the development has been completed over 3 years now yet the road has still not been adopted. What should be grass along the footpaths has been left year on year to allow weeds to grow as high as 5 foot! When they do cut the trees it's done with so little care that debris has been fired the best part of 20 feet from the ditch to our front doors, striking our cars and front windows.Recently had to dig up everyone's gardens because the roads wouldn't be adopted due to them planting our boundaries too close to the curb (yes took them 3 years to notice). Left mud all out the front of residents houses with no rush to 'make good' the mess they have made. Been 3 weeks now and they have still not rectified the mess to the front of peoples properties.Anyone considering buying from them should seriously consider. While there have been instances that have been rectified, on the whole once you are in they couldn't make it any more blatant that they don't care.

I’m hoping they improve but we had a terrible pre-purchase experience so pulled out. Reserved a £1m home but we received no updates on revised build dates or any communication unless we pushed. We were meant to be moving in in October but the house hasn’t had a brick laid! Understand the Covid issues but we were not being kept up to date and this one simple thing of communication made us pull out as we thought if this is the service we get pre-purchase, what will the post-purchase customer service be like?

TrustpilotBovis ...inaccurate advertising
I have been looking for a house for over 6 months and considered a couple of plots at various sites across Wawickshire. Each time I ring up for a sales enquiry the deal changes. Their website does not correspond to what is actually on offer. Different prices/incentives and often the adverts contradict. They need somebody to accurately keeps there details correct on the websites (as often you can't get somone on the phone - sign of the times I guess). Their website is often the first place people go to get information and no point if the information is incorrectPoor sales. God knows what would happen after you reserve and leave a deposit

TrustpilotDreadful
Dreadful, I will never buy a new build again. They have ruined the whole experience, poor finishes, poor customer service and the landscaping was never finished. Our area customer service manager for the Cotswolds, is a cowboy. He’s rude, ignorant and think he knows everything, a guy who thinks he can marlarky his way though a conversation. I’m a young adult and not stupid or naive, he gave the impression I was being very awkward and would make up silly reasons for problems in my home. For example, my carpet was malting since day one of moving in, 18 months down the line I was Informed by him it’s a 1 year life carpet. I would advise anyone buying from Bovis to stop and find a more trusted builder, I wish I did my research before proceeding.
