Choose a different housebuilder

I believe one star is appropriate. The house we purchased itself is stunning however has been plagued with issues. Constant leaks in skylights, cracks in garage floor and water seeping in through the ground, garden was a deathtrap - just to name a few issues. The repairs are shoddy and do not actually fix the issues. 18 months of living here and still experiencing issues. Sales mis-sold the property and lied about certain elements of the site just to get the sale. Surveyors come out to investigate issues, tell the homeowner what will be included in the report and then after sales 'customer service' accuse you of lying about what was discussed. After sales care is sub-par and they do not care about the stress that they cause when their customers have spent hundreds of thousands purchasing their homes. The homes are not built to the high standard you are promised, you'll see this from the other reviews. This housebuilder should be absolutely ashamed of themselves!

We purchased our first property from countryside and I must say, although the process can appear to be quite fearsome, the entire team just ensured it was smooth sailing for us. There was not a single time where I couldn’t get through to them or my questions weren’t answered. They were always very efficient and effective. I could not have been happier with my decision to go with countryside. The property has been built and designed to a very high standard and the condition it was handed over to us was just fabulous. Every detail has been thought through with incredible precision. The team were, and continue to be very friendly, truly caring and professional. They really push themselves and strive to give their customers the ultimate service which does not end once you get your keys. I was amazed with the after care provided once we had completed. I am now a very happy homeowner and thank you to countryside for making this a truly unforgettable and great experience. Thank you Graham for your care, understanding and patience with me and my never ending questions, there wasn’t a single moment I felt even slightly uncomfortable. Thank you to the site team for being ever so helpful and approachable and dealing with our issues instantly.

Shocking from the get go

Shocking from the get go. I should state that our home looks lovely from the outside, I appreciate the fact that new builds have the odd snag here and there but on our third night during a bout of rainfall we had water coming in through the skylights; not to mention the fact that the heating is the wrong way around and we’re stuck with no internet due to a planning error. We selected this home because it is genuinely lovely and within our price range. The sales manager promised all the bells and whistles, solicitors fees with £1000 etc… which never happened because of the fact that despite their role as a seller of homes they don’t actually plan their deals in line with most banks mortgage policies. No communication from Countryside throughout the sales process or indeed guidance from them. Was told that we should use their solicitors or the process would fall down which indeed it did despite using their solicitors. Appliances which came fitted have lasted all of 5 minutes because various parts have been taken off presumably to mend others.We have no fence now either after a week because it has been ripped down to make room for the adjacent builds garage to which we had no input from countryside regarding this.All in all it has been a painful experience as a first time buyer and made me reticent to do it again. If this was any other purchase or product I’d ask for some money back.

I would also give them 0 if I could. lived at NV Buildings for 12 years. only to find now that the building was not built to the required standards.countryside have left lease holders having to pay up for their incompetence!!!!they should take responsibility for causing our building to be unsafe!!!How can they play with peoples lives like this????Greed is the only word that comes to mind! Skimp on materials 'no one will know' the difference. Do not trust countryside!!!

I’m been waiting over a week for…

I’m been waiting over a week for someone to get back to me as I have complained about 1) the rude site manage and 2) they have every house done and has left mine. They have never given a date to complete my property or a reason as to why mine is delayed… they took my kitchen window out to replace someone elses broken one. disgusting behaviour… playing with people lives here!! Called and left messages but still nothing!!!

You don't need to look any further for your perfect home!January 2022 we stumbled across a countryside development site and the moment we walked into the countryside sales office we was greeted by Anne whom by the way is a true credit to countryside nothing is ever too much trouble and there is no pushy sales tactics she has the patience of a Saint and has communicated with us throughout the whole process. We was blown away the moment we stepped through the door we had finally found our dream home! The build and layout is like no other with standard features you'd usually be expected to have to then upgrade to. As for snagging yes we've had a couple of minor ones but the site managers Ryan, Simon and Tom ensure your also taken good care of I also have to say all of their team are friendly polite and courteous as for Val he is one of the best!If you are thinking of buying a new build do not hesitate and look no further than countryside.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE BUILDERS

STAY AWAY FROM THESE BUILDERS! DO NOT BUY!These bunch of cowboys are the absolute worst. Build quality is disgraceful. Customer service is laughable (some workers are ok but they will leave when they have enough of the complaints often go on holiday and never come back) we had well over 100 snags, a lot of them major issues such as gaps in the roof, disconnected waste pipes, holes in wall the list could go on. They say the houses are inspected they are not! Or a drive by inspection. They wouldn't let us view the property before we moved in to which we found that DRAINAGE WAS NOT TO PLAN! 4 DRAINS IN THE BACK GARDEN INSTEAD OF AT THE FRONT CAUSING CONSTANT BLOCKAGES (APPARENTLY BABY WIPES YET NO BABIES ON THE STREET). They promise to sort things out and either never do or take forever. My advise would be get everything in writing and keep on at them. We don't have our NHBC warranty still after 4 months. It has been nothing but hassle be prepared to give up a lot of your time fighting to get anything sorted out, numerous amount of time off work making sure someone is in for builders to carry out snagging. God only knows what is going on under the floors and in the walls. WILL THE HOUSE EVEN STAY UP OR WILL IT FALL DOWN AFTER A FEW YEARS!

Don't bother Samantha Davis is our Property manager is absolutely incompetent collecting paychecks to ignore our issues, emails and calls. 2yrs later several issues raised during warranty and outstanding.If you enjoy having to file warranty claims through NHBC she is your woman to have nothing resolved that you have to take legal action.USELESS MORON clearly lacks education

Get Everything in Writing

Please, if you do deal with these worms, get everything in writing! They promise the world and deliver a little. They make you feel stupid, asking if you have it in writing, first time buyer so I was naïve enough to believe what these guys were saying. If they promise to come out after 16 months to fill in all the movement issues, this is just a lie, they will only come out and assess if you have cracks over 3mm wide. I could go on forever but no one cares, just wanted to leave a 1 star and help future buyers.

**PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN PURCHASING PROPERTY FROM COUNTRYSIDE** As with many other reviews there is a running theme with Countryside; A* service when papers are being exchanged/purchasing process of said property, then one sale is complete you are essentially yesterdays news. Snag lists not attended to properly, zero communication regarding a poor standard of garden installation, no updates regarding warranties, the list goes ON AND ON....Any answers given are completely vague and do not represent any realistic timeframe or reassurance of resolution. Should you find that property that you really want with Countryside I would HEAVILY RECCOMMEND mentioning this review and others like it as the moment they receive the exchange and transfer of funds their service goes from truly impressive to truly awful. My Advice; do your homework on them, do not take the promises or reassurances of any form of aftercare/warranties as golden, and mention this and other reviews like it.

I am so impressed with the first class customer service that I have received and continue to receive from Tara Harrison (Sales Consultant). She has communicated with me on a regular basis advising me of the stage of development, she has gone above and beyond always making herself available should I have any queries. I am so impressed with her professionalism. Extremely shoddy building of properties, multitude of snagging faults that aren’t resolved in a timely manner, no sense of honesty or customer service...the list goes on.Countryside are basically cowboy builders with the ability to pretend to be professionals.Never, ever, ever buy with them. They are keen to sell and the sales team will really push and make you feel supported and sell the dream but once they have your money they’re nowhere to be seen and the number of issues the properties have is horrific.Please do not consider buying from them, you will regret it. If you don’t believe what’s written here, speak to people already living in their properties. Brook Valley Gardens is so bad the residents were forced to create a WhatsApp group which shares issues to get them resolved as Countryside will ignore and avoid as much as they can.Save yourself the time and bother. Worst builders ever!

Countryside are a bunch of cowboy builders, ever since we moved into our new home at the beginning of may there’s been problem after problem, mainly with blocked drains and parts of the roof falling off, despite numerous calls and the drains being blocked for 4 weeks they don’t address the problems, I have contacted local building control who are useless and today I have contacted environmental health, I wish we had never set eyes on this propertey built by these bunch of cowboys.

Absolute Nightmare - Countryside Sold Us a Mouse-Infested Disaster!

I would give Countryside zero stars if I could! Buying a house from them has been nothing short of a living nightmare. Our home has become overrun with mice, and we're not the only ones suffering, our neighbours at 10B and 10D are dealing with the same horrific problem. It's clear that Countryside is selling shoddy, poorly built homes that are infested from the start.The level of infestation is disgusting. We've found mice droppings all over the house, to the point where my baby almost ate some. The health and safety of my family have been completely jeopardised, and Countryside couldn't care less. The thought of my children being exposed to this filth is sickening, and the company has done absolutely nothing to fix it. They are endangering our lives and our children's lives!This company is a complete scam, they take your money, sell you a substandard, dangerous property, and leave you to deal with the consequences. It's disgraceful! If you're considering buying from Countryside, RUN! They're more interested in profit than delivering a safe, livable home. We are already in discussions with other affected neighbours about taking legal action, and I will make sure to spread the word on every platform possible about how truly terrible Countryside is.Avoid Countryside at all costs unless you want to be living in a rodent-infested death trap! They are incompetent, negligent, and have sold us nothing but misery. Absolutely DISGUSTING company!

Never buy a new build from them

Never buy a new build from themWe bought our new build flat 3years ago. Whilst we understood that we were buying a flat on a site where other properties are being built (and put up with amounts noise I wish upon no one) we never expected Countryside to organise themselves a playground directly under our balcony where allotments were supposed to be. As the land became free for the council to start developing allotments, Countryside decided to use the land in the meantime as their dumping ground, cement/concrete mixing field, mounts of sand storage place and paving stone cutting field. All directly under our balcony. Less than 5m away. Absolutely no consideration for the people who bought flat from them in the first instance. This has been happening now for 6month ! Recently complained to their management to what they responded that they will use dust suppression techniques to reduce amount of dust. Have a guess what happened next ?! NOTHING. This very second I’m looking at a digger mixing sand/gravel with no dust suppression in 30degree heat. This new building site created so much anxiety and tension in our household, one can’t imagine… and it was never meant to be a building site , just peaceful garden allotments. Worst developer ever with no consideration for the local area. They care about you until you part with the money. Avoid !!!

These guys rope you into giving them a £1,000 deposit and then keep harassing you to exchange. The completion date moved by 2 months as soon as I gave my deposit and then I kept on getting threatened that I’d lose my deposit if i didn’t exchange. I explained I can’t exchange unless they give me a completion date. They threatened me again and then promptly kept my £1,000. The house was supposed to be completed in jan 2023 when I paid my deposit. It’s now August 2023 and the property still isn’t complete and I’ve lost a £1,000

Absolute cowboys!!!

Absolute cowboys!!!! Our property was clearly not inspected properly nor ready to move in. We had problems with the electrics keep cutting out which turned out to be a loose main neutral cable coming into the property!! We could not use the toilet in the main bathroom for nearly 4 weeks, we have no key for our back gate, the back door sticks and doesn't lock properly. We had no lawn in the back garden, no internet connection I could go on and on but those are just the "major" issues. They make false promise after false promise! I swear the site managers have no ink their pens as what they appear to be writing down does not materialise! Avoid at all costs!!!

Great experience at Ashmere, Ebbsfleet

We had an amazing experience interacting with Ed and Louise at Ashmere development. Apart from the volley of questions that we asked, they answered them authentically, patiently, and to our utmost satisfaction. They convincingly cleared all our doubts and apprehensions.Both Ed and Louise seemed to be quite proactive and were well versed with our needs and priorities and were attentive to the finer details during the whole process.Their congenial and conducive approach made us feel quite comfortable in understanding the nitty-gritty of the deal in a short span of time.Site Manager - Perry, too has been very helpful. Keeping a cool temperament coupled with wit and humor and attending to our every minute detail in such a fast-paced/demanding environment is simply amazing and worthy of appreciation.Needless to say, their concerted and considerate approach that led to a fruitful conclusion has left a favorable impression to the extent that should any of our acquaintances happen to be keen on purchasing a new build we would merrily recommend Countryside Properties.

Eaton fields stay away

We have just moved in to a house on eaton fields nuneaton and to be honest the house was not the best, we have found numerous problems some small some big but the biggest is that the drains are blocked up and they are telling us we have got to wait 48 hours for someone to come out bearing in mind we have 4 kids in the house its just not acceptable. They are trying to say because of covid they can not come out to your house to see you but we are not in no lock down or anything like it and the lady that handed over the key was all up in the house and everything it is just a excuse not to come out. Very very poor service from countryside would not recommend.

Great when they want your money.

Countywide couldn't be anymore helpful, when they're after your money, pre completion. The sales team, site manager were only too helpful, I really couldn't fault them.Since completion, there have been a number of issues. My initial snap list was dealt with, in some fashion, but took a lot of persuasion from site team. Being in the final phase, it was clear they site team didn't want to be bothered. I've had multiple issues since and will have been in my home nearly 2 years. It's inevitable that issues will occur, but Countryside simply have no interest. Countless emails to the customer service team with no response, but even when I do, it takes 4-6 weeks for someone to come and resolve the issue. I still have 4 outstanding issues and noone has replied to my emails and can never get through on the phone. In all seriousness, if you can cope with the incredibly poor customer service and lack of support, while spending thousands, then by all means go ahead, but this is sadly a company I will not TRUST again.
