Winkworth were exceptional…
Winkworth were exceptional during the sale of our flat.Guy in particular was tenacious and helpful in pushing the buyers' solicitors, despite them being particularly challenging, and managing all the communications with the chain and our solicitor. He was instrumental in getting the sale and our onward purchase across the line and we owe him a debt of gratitude!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave an excellent rating. We really appreciate your business. Please let us know if we can do anything for you in the future.

A predatory scam. Do not use if a student or young.
AVOID WINKWORTH. I am still annoyed months after moving out. I was in a rolling contract, paid up my last month and moved out with plenty of notice - all fine. Out of the blue they then tried to hold me against a contract I never signed/didn't exist and though I agreed to pay if they could present one (said several times) they refused to present one despite hilariously agreeing at the start one could not be found. This went on for several weeks with back and forth phone calls and emails that went round in circles just pushing for me to pay a further 6 months I was never signed to. My mum's partner called in once. Said exact same thing id said. Phone call lasted 5 minutes. And they dropped it, apologised through him and he sent on the message to me that it would be dropped. I was livid. It felt not only predatory and an utter violation but it felt misogynistic on top of it. I am a Senior in my own job so understand associates have rules and policies to follow (and approached Winkworth also how I like to be approached with such complaints) but they completely made things up as they went along, changing stories over and over to try and get me to pay whilst refusing to provide a signed document to say so.Before moving in my friend told me her Winkworth experience which was very similar. I wish I had listened. This is clearly something they have done before and will probably do again in the hopes someone new to renting will just pay out. Vile.
At Winkworth we are always disappointed to receive a review such as yours and I am sorry to hear of your personal experiences. All of the Winkworth Offices are independently owned and operated and if you are able to update you review and provide details of the office that you had dealings with, we will be able to look into your concerns accordingly. Jenny made what could have been a very stressful situation of moving out of our home (that is being refurbished) into a rental property very straight forward; taking care of admin on our behalf and liaising with the landlord to cover all aspects of our move and so that we had what we needed when we moved in. I would definitely recommend Jenny in particular and also the Winkworth for the service that they offer.

I’ve lived in Notting Hill for many years and have dealt with many agents. Charlie Vernon is that rare mixture of honesty, integrity, directness and grit. For me these are the only ingredients for a good agent. Charlie has them all and is also a thoroughly decent bloke. And that’s why he’s not a good agent. He’s an exceptional agent. That’s why I use him personally and for my company (West11 Design Ltd.) top chap. Christian Cox

Winkworths Barnes: Amateurish and incompetent selling agents
Amateurish and incompetent in the extreme. As sole agents during 4 months of the peak house-buying season, Winkworths Barnes failed to sell our house despite interested buyers, all other properties at similar price-point being snapped up and low stock levels. Childish communicators with zero transaction-management skills. Even after we took our house off the market and formally terminated their agency, they continued to display our house on their website marked "under offer" - when the house was not under offer, they were not our agent and we had not consented to their using a photo of our property for marketing purposes. If you are looking for ineffectual and bombastic service, this is the firm for you.

Terrible neglective managment!!!! We have been renting with them for a…
We have been renting with them for a year and a half, always on time with our responsibilities, always updating the managment for any issues with the lift or anything regarding the property. We had an emergency on the 31st of December where the boiler stop working and we were left completely with no warm water and a boiler that for some reason was leaking water! We were provided with emergency contacts which we tried contacting for about 3 days before we get an answer from them refusing to come and check the boiler as they were pretty sure they could not do anything due to the lack of parts( which they didn’t even know from the phone where and what exactly was the issue). After 4 days without warm water a guy came to check and nothing was done. In less words after all managment department was informed with the emergency, as we are talking about month January, even if they send people, who never treated our situation ,with a toddler at home, as emergency, did nothing. We were left for almost a month with no warm water and with the excuse that parts and manufacturers where difficult to find, with no other option and no reasonable deduction of the monthly rent, no help and no options with a toddler the most cold weather of the year!!! And the only response was that they are trying and we can have warm water for a family of 3 by using kettles!!! The boiler was fixed temporarily but still not permanently and we are at the middle of February. The worst managment we have ever faced and now they are asking us to leave with no excuse or reason. I am not willing to deal with this agency anymore and I hope I will never have to deal with such a neglective and awfull situation where they left a family with a young child in the most cold weather of the year for a month without heated water!!! I feel ashamed and disrespected but I have to make this review in order other peiple to be aware!

THANK YOU!
THANK YOU! This is hands down the best experience I have had with an Estate Agent. Shilpa was instrumental in getting the sale through before before the stamp duty break ended and walked us through every step, answering any questions we raised. Shilpa & the team made the experience an easy one and I am forever grateful for that. I will be recommending Winkworth to friends!

Paying top dollar to live in a damp and disgusting property!
Currently I am paying for a 'two' bedroom property. Unfortunately due to a severe leak I reported in 08/21 one of the two bedrooms is completely unusable due to the reoccurring leaks, and the severe damp as a result. It is now 29/10/21 almost 3 months later and the problem still has not been resolved. I reported the issue for the third time on 05/10/21 but as of 21/10/21 the Landlord seemed to think the issue was solved. In the meantime I have been paying the full rental price for a two bedroom property, yet for 3 months I will have been unable to use a significant part of the property - a younger family member now has no bedroom, yet I still have to pay for it. I have asked the landlord/agent to consider a temporary rental reduction due to the above reason however this has been flat out refused on multiple occasions.Despite many emails, phone calls, photo and video evidence I shared with Winkworth, the landlord still appeared to think the issue was solved. This tells me that Winkworth must be very selective on what information they choose to pass on to the landlord, or the landlord doesn't mind dragging on this issue for longer, and thus incurring significantly higher remediation costs. This issue was first reported in August, it is now nearly November, and the fact that it has taken this long, and the issue is still not resolved will have undoubtedly incurred additional costs to tenant (My possessions now have mould on them and I now have to find another bedroom) and landlord (Has many more remedial issues to deal with). My next step will be to report all of this, making complaints to the Property Redress Scheme and seeking legal advice.
Afternoon Rajeev. Thank you for taking the time to provide this review. All of the Winkworth offices are independently owned and operated. Unfortunately you have not provided the information of the office that you are dealing with and therefore we are unable to look into this further. I would be grateful if you could provide this so that we can contact the office in question. Thank you in advance.

Please stay away from that agency. Our flat was broken into because of their actions, our possessions were stolen and they won't reimburse us. Winkworth told us not to set the alarm when they knew we were to leave our flat for an extended period of time. After their questionable instruction, they never cared to set it back and our flat was broken into resulting in many of our possessions being stolen. They said it was our fault due to not having contents insurance although it would have been invalid since we were away for so long, a fact which we have repeated but they simply do not care. Stay away. PS: To answer to your reply below Please don’t say you’re sorry when we all know you don’t care at all. How you’ve dealt with the whole situation proves it beyond the shadow of a doubt. You should know that contents insurance becomes invalid if the property is vacant for more than 60 days. Winkworth was well aware of that fact but you simply do not care. Was this taken into consideration in your so-called strict dispute resolution procedure? Of course not. How can you not be held liable when you were the ones who did not set the alarm is beyond me. Do you think this is fair?
Whilst we are obviously extremely sorry to learn of the theft, Winkworth cannot be held responsible for break-ins at properties and the loss of belongings. All our tenants are strongly advised to take out contents insurance for the protection of belongings and this is re-iterated in each and every Tenancy Agreement, and it appears that this advice was not followed. Winkworth operates a strict Dispute Resolution Procedure and when the matter was raised it was thoroughly investigated firstly by the Winkworth compliance department and also by the Property Redress Scheme, an external body to which all Winkworth offices are required to be members and whose decisions we are obliged to abide by. We were found in both cases to be not at fault. Once again we are extremely sympathetic to any tenants who suffer the loss of possessions but we cannot overstress the importance of protecting personal belongings through insurance.

I sold my flat through Winkworth this year and they provided a really great service. I would highly recommend them. Imogen and Charles from the sales team were very patient and helpful at taking me through the whole process from appraisal to completion of sale. I felt their initial appraisal was very fair; despite the restrictions of Covid they managed to show the flat and get an offer within price expectations, and within a good time frame. They were excellent at keeping me up to date with progress and tried to make sure everything happened in the most timely fashion possible. I would happily use them again.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write us such a lovely review. It was a pleasure to work with you and we really hope you enjoy your new home and hope to see you around the neighborhood!

I have rented a Notting Hill property managed by WW between2018 and 2020. WW has been extremely professional from the beginning, but it was during the pandemic that they excelled in their support. Me and my girlfriend were forced to self isolate for six months due to medical reason, and during the period we had several small issues in the flat due to the prolonged use of pretty much everything. Lydia and the rest of the WW team was impressively fast and kind and understanding in helping us sorting everything out, maintaining the highest safety and professional standards. I would recommend WW to anyone who wants to rent a property in the area, and I will definitely use them in the future. Good luck to the whole team.
Thank you very much for your kind words and we are delighted you were happy with our services. Let us know if we can help you in the future with any property needs you may have.

Super Service at Winkworth Long Melford
A huge thank you to Mark Wilkins at Winkworth Long Melford. He epitomises the term "Gentleman". He was always available and nothing was too much trouble. Our house sold very quickly and Mark then worked with us to progress to completion day. I would certainly recommend Winkworth but also believe that Mark's care and attention was the key to our successful sale. Thank you Mark.

Professional from start to finish
Professional from start to finish. Shilpa was understanding of our needs and patient with my elderly parents, and caring of our home of 43 years. Shilpa kept us up to date at all times and we never felt pressured or pressurised. Nishi did most of the viewings and again courteous, punctual and understanding. Would definitely recommend and use again. Huge thank you from us all.

Happy with our experience
My partner and I are first time buyers, and we’re just about to complete on our first flat. Patrick, Alex and Nicola have overseen the whole process and we’re really happy with the way our purchase has been dealt with. We weren’t really expecting to feel grateful to our seller’s estate agents, but they have helped us navigate all the twists and turns fairly and transparently. They were also very helpful when our solicitors were being less than efficient (!) - an email to the Winkworth team was often a quick and easy way to sort out any issues. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again (not that you have a choice as a buyer, though - if only…!).
Hello Ed. Thank you for sharing your positive experience regarding your purchase of your first property with Winkworth. We would love to know which of the Winkworth offices you dealt with so that we can congratulate them personally on their customer service and professionalism. Thank you again for taking the time to provide this review and wishing you all the best in your (first) new home!

Great experience with Poppy Hartley she managed the end to end process of my purchase incredibly smoothly in under 3 months and nothing was too much trouble for her with viewings or going back to take workmen round between offer and completion. Would always use Winkworth in future.
Thank you Tessa for your kind words about Poppy, and congratulations on your purchase. We hope you'll be very happy there!

For four weeks the branch staff thinks it's ok to have mice and all the associated issues running round the flat and still no date for when the people will be coming to sort out the issue, very poor. Am sure they wouldn't want this in their own homes but it's ok for people that pay their salaries

Guildford Estate agent winkworth
Guildford Estate agent winkworth. Got shown a property today with my partner and 8 month old baby today. I'm offended you would even think that a filthy student property would be suitable for mt family anyway! Was absolutely disguted that you can show property's in these conditions like that and think its acceptable (and in a pandemic you should be sanitising everything down!) When tenants leave if you think showing a dirty property with dirt and filth is acceptable it is not! Trying to sell a property to me in such disgusting conditions and thinking its okay to show people shows what type of estate agents you would have been if we were to have gone with you. Asked to be taken off the books would not recommend thank god we curved this! Will be telling everyone to avoid this estate agent. Your reviews don't look great anyway even though you deleted my Google one!
Good morning Theo. Thank you for taking the time to provide a review on this agency. I have to make you aware that Guidlford Estate Agent is not part of the Winkworth network and therefore I am unable to assist you with your complaint. Please do speak directly with this business if you wish to take your concerns further.

I'm waiting to hear back from Winkworth…
I'm waiting to hear back from Winkworth Kensal Rise lettings about why I'm being contacted by the utility provider to pay bills on an account I assumed was closed on my moving out. As a landlord, I pay Winkworths the 'Fully Managed Fee', a level of service for which they state they will inform the utility providers of the new tenants details. My credit rating is at risk as I have ignored emails from the utility provider on the basis that I have paid all bills before the tenant moved in. What is the point in 'informing the utility providers of your new tenants details' if the account isn't closed? I await a response. Very disappointed at what is either negligence or very misleading terms of service (if 'informing' providers achieves nothing of value to me as a client.)
Morning Jonny. I believe that Aaron from Winkworth Kensal Rise has been in touch with you personally regarding the problems you are having with your utility providers. Unfortunately, due to GDPR, quite often providers will not take instructions from a third party or speak with the agent as a representative of the Landlord. Aaron has again attempted to liaise with the utility provider on your behalf however they have confirmed they are unable to do this as you have not given permission. This is extremely frustrating for you as a Landlord and Winkworth as your agents, however our hands are tied on this occasion.
Where the same review appears twice we show it once. We leave out reviews that name another agent or another of the brand's offices.
