TrustpilotQuick and stress-free move
I had a really good experience working with Paris Merico from John D Wood & Co. while looking for a flat in Notting Hill. He was super quick, practical, and always easy to reach, replying straight away to calls and messages and really trying to sort things out fast.
He made the whole process feel simple and stress-free, which was a huge help. In the end, he helped us find a lovely apartment in Notting Hill with great landlords.
Would definitely recommend him if you’re looking for a solid and efficient agent.

I had a really positive experience dealing with Ollie throughout my time with the property. He was always professional, responsive, and genuinely helpful whenever I had a question or needed assistance.
Ollie communicated clearly, handled everything efficiently, and made the whole process feel straightforward and stress-free. I really appreciated his support and the level of service he provided from start to finish.

TrustpilotUnprofessional, delayed response, terrible experience
To the Management Team,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the unacceptable service we received during our move-in process.
My brother secured this tenancy by paying the security deposit and 12 months of rent in advance. Despite this significant financial commitment and the fulfillment of all our obligations, the agency failed to provide the keys on the agreed-upon date. We were left without access to the property for four days.
To make matters worse, upon finally receiving the keys, we discovered there was no hot water in the flat. This meant that after a four-day delay, we were still unable to live in the property comfortably.
This level of negligence is unprofessional and a clear breach of our rental agreement. I expect a formal apology and a pro-rata refund for the four days we were denied access to the property. Unbelievable service!!! Would definetely not recommend this agency....

GoogleIncredibly disappointed by the agent Toby who misguided me to securing a 2 year tenancy for a flat nearby that's in a terrible state.
The property management team do not respond to you and take months to replace a faulty appliance.
I was told the flat will be cleaned, refreshed with new carpets and furniture. As soon as I signed the contract, I was left with a place that falls well below a normal living standard, despite paying really high rent.
It's almost 1 year and I've had to live with faulty lamps, wobbling chairs, broken blinds, doors, kitchen appliances and unhygienic carpets.
The worst part of my experience was moving in and having to clean all the rut, dirt which must have been built up for years, and hoarded items left behind from previous tenants.
Worst experience in the past 15 years living in London.

TrustpilotDesperately waiting for the keys
It has been already two days since signing the rent agreement and paying upfront the full rent for a year yet the keys not released. I don't recommend to use JDW's services for real estate rentals. It is a total disaster and frustration.
Day 3: The cupboard door is broken and there's no hot water in the house. My disappointment is at its peak. Andrea and Prue, whom I was in contact with during the rental process, unfortunately haven't responded to my calls or messages. They always had an excuse. They haven't inspected the premise once for any defects before renting it.

TrustpilotVery helpful!
I had a very positive experience with the team at John D Wood, Wimbledon Village. Although they were acting on behalf of the seller, they were consistently supportive and professional throughout the entire process. From the initial bidding stage through to completion, they helped me navigate each step clearly and efficiently, even with a challenging seller involved.
Their communication was excellent, and they made what could have been a stressful experience feel much more manageable. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again, and would certainly consider using them if I were to sell my own property.

We had an excellent experience working with Charlie! From the very beginning, he really took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for, and it showed in every property he recommended. The flats he showed us were spot on, exactly what we had in mind, which made the whole process so much smoother and more enjoyable.
Charlie clearly has a great instinct for matching people with the right homes. He’s knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely listens, which made us feel confident we were in good hands. We never felt pressured, just well-guided.

TrustpilotTerrible experience as a buyer
Terrible experience as a buyer, felt scammed by this agency particularly the agent called Fee. I was told various lies to try and drive the price up (which I later found out she was trying to get me to pay a further 100k to the offer they had but led me to believe the other buyer was offering similar) I was also the highest offer and last minute told they had another similar offer. Just a mess and would never go near this agency again.

GoogleWhile finding the right apartment and signing a lease was a breeze (hence, two starts instead of one), once we moved in, everything went sideways. The property managers were unresponsive to both simple and complex repairs. In one case, their lack of engagement led to mold growth, eventually requiring ripping out carpet and redoing molding despite multiple escalations on our part to address leaks.
What was particularly infuriating, however, either incompetence or maliciousness (or both) on their part in returning our deposit after we left. Even after aligning on amount required, it took over three months to receive our funds back. It required over 15 emails to their offices, repeated calls, threats of escalating to the housing office, and finally escalating to John D. Wood head office. Avoid working with Adamya at all cost. And if you have to, avoid giving benefit of the doubt; just save yourself the heartburn and escalate at the outset.
Buyer beware - you may have no choice but to work with this team, but at minimum, know your rights and who to escalate to when they invariably try to avoid doing their jobs.

TrustpilotExcellent customer service!
We are currently in the process of selling our flat through John D Wood, after previously being listed with another estate agent and receiving little to no communication about how our property was progressing on the market. The customer service we have received from John D Wood, in Beckenham, has been fantastic. We have been kept in the loop throughout, regarding the traction and interest online, given honest opinions and advice on pricing, and found they are very knowledgeable on the current market in our area. They make every step of the selling process as smooth as can be, by planning viewings around our schedule and assisting with surveyor access when required. The team have since found the right buyer for our lovely flat, which we are thrilled about. We have also viewed properties with John D Wood and found them to be very helpful in either having answers to our questions or finding the correct information from the vendors. All in all a very positive experience and have already recommended to others wishing to sell their property.

GoogleThe service offered by the Property Management team is shocking.
Myself and a friend rented a two bedroom property from John D Wood. We have now been in the property for over 4 months and are yet to be provided with 2 sets of functioning keys.
Despite the gravity of the issue, John D Wood have not been proactive in trying to find a solution for this.
The Property Management staff are unprofessional, rude and generally incompetent, especially Alessandro Lucatello and Adam Michael. John D Wood and the respective Landlord consistently denied any responsibility for the situation making it difficult, time consuming and stressful to resolve.
If you do decide to rent with John D Wood, make sure you have a break clause included in your contract.
Having said that, Katherine Garces is excellent, very responsive and was a real pleasure to engage with. I would not want my negative review of the Property Management team to reflect poorly on her!

TrustpilotClaire Carter = everything you'd want in an agent
A huge token of respect and appreciation for Claire Carter, who acted on our behalf through an exceptionally complicated sale. Claire demonstrated deep subject matter expertise throughout and consistently went above and beyond, navigating a whole series of challenges, any one of which could easily have put the deal in jeopardy. She showed real patience, persistence, resilience, and tenacity, and most importantly inspired complete trust, all delivered with a genuine sense of humour when it was most needed.
Thank you, Claire. Agents like you are genuinely few and far between, and John D Wood are very lucky to have you.

TrustpilotI rented this apartment for a two-month…
I rented this apartment for a two-month stay. It was a disappointment.
Throughout the stay, there were consistent delays in resolving basic matters. Requests often went unanswered and required multiple follow-ups.
You should be warned that there is construction in the building next door. The agency and landlord did not disclose this.
Most concerningly, despite having departed the apartment months ago and received a report from them that everything was left in great condition, we have still not received the security deposit. It seems that their delays may not have just been bad service but rather bad faith.
