Poor experience

As a landlord, I cannot recommend this agency. They have high staff turnover, are extremely disorganized, blatantly mis-inform, and oversee shoddy maintenance. The experience from the POV of the tenant seems to be just as poor. The sales team blatantly over-promises, then the landlord is left trying to understand why they are on the hook for things they explicitly did not agree to. Really a horrible experience all around.

Stefania at John D Wood worked hard to make sure our needs were met in a very tight time frame. Her friendly professionalism & local knowledge were so helpful to us, as we are new to living in the UK. The other staff we met were very welcoming. We would not hesitate to recommend John D Wood - in fact they were referred to us by another real estate agent!

Sale of flat in the Fulham area…

I sold a flat in the Fulham area through the John D Wood team in Parsons Green/ Fulham Broadway. For various reasons (outside control of John D Wood or myself), this was a long, drawn-out sales process. I have to say that John D Wood team was at all times professional, responsive and went above and beyond to get the sale done and completed. I would certainly recommend John D Wood to my friends and contacts.

This is for Sardar Berzo. He is an asset to JDW and has been so impressive and client centric. He has gone above and beyond in every instance. Particularly, I was out of London for couple of weeks and he kindly went to my flat to water my plants. It’s a pleasure interacting with him.

So lucky to have met Umar from the John D Wood office on Gloucester Road in South Kensington. Thanks so him, we found and bought the flat of our dreams and the process went fast and easy. After 10 years living in London, it's the first time I feel I found a trusted, genuine agent to work with. Will always rely on his expertise for the future.

I have been working with Shoeni and the team for 10yrs with nothing but efficient helpful knowledgeable assistance. Love them! Love they are local and established in the ‘hood. I’ve worked with sales too and can’t say enough nice things about working with Jake and his sales crew.

I absolutely rate Alessandro at JDW. He has progressed in that organisation as sort of managing our property at the time in SW7 to a more management role, but nevertheless answered lots of strange phone calls from us when we needed things sorted. He is very good about picking up the phone and getting back, which is increasingly harder to find with agencies these days.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

Horrible experience with this agency

Horrible experience with this agency. I am currently living in a 3 bed flat in Fulham where one of the bedroom ceiling has collapsed and for last 2 months the agency has been slow, practically unresponsive and simply rude. They treat tenants with such disdain it’s shocking. Do not use this company

We had a wonderful experience with John D Wood, from the very start of our flat rental search. The website is super user friendly and details everything you need to know about the properties. We were also very lucky to land the most amazing estate agent, Harriet (Hattie) Pothecary. She's bubbly, determined and a real pleasure to be around. I would recommend John D Wood to my friends and family.

I am absolutely happy with the service of John D Wood. This is particularly true since Mr Sardar Berzo took over the task to manage my flat in London. The level of commitment, quality of work, reliability and pro-activity is outstanding.

Alessandro Lucatello, John D Wood & Co PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

Alessandro Lucatello, Head of Property Management at John D Wood, does an exceptional job. He always goes above & beyond to ensure my needs & wishes - as a landlord - are met. This includes personally overseeing projects on my property - something he could easily delegate but chooses to see things through for himself. He's amazing - & so are his staff who have looked after me for many, many years now. I can't recommend John D Wood for your Property Management needs, more highly. First class - always!

Selling with JDW Summertown

We highly recommend prospective sellers to consider JDW in Summertown. Our experience has been first class and the JDW service was highly professional right from the start - realistic estimate of house value, knowledge of the local market and how to maximise our sale price and managing our anxieties and expectations throughout the whole lengthy process to completion. The team were always professional, responsive and friendly and definitely worked hard to help us achieve our sale. They managed everything - EPC, flattering professional photographs included as part of the service, all the very many viewings, right through to chasing solicitors and other parties all along the chain to achieve completion. If you are considering selling your home, then do consider calling Daniel or Wai at JDW.

Claire Carter (based at the Weybridge…

Claire Carter (based at the Weybridge branch) handled my purchase from start to finish and was exceedingly efficient. I was on a very tight timeline yet she saw no reason as to why we could not complete on time and she held true to her word. She chased deadlines when needs be and kept me informed immediately of any requests for information or any news.I never had to chase her for an answer to any question I had and I hugely appreciated her transparency throughout the process. I cannot recommend her and the agency enough.

Emma Campbell and Spencer Cushing were extremely helpful in our search. Even though they were acting for the vendor, I felt they managed to give balanced advice and were always very quick to respond to queries. The sale went through easily and I felt nothing was too much trouble for them.

Incredibly rude staff

I rented a property that was part managed by John D Wood. The service was just awful - whenever we wanted something done with any urgency, they never responded. As soon as they wanted something, we'd receive really abrupt and quite rude emails demanding that we respond immediately. The tone of all staff was rude and often accusatory. I still have no idea what the landlord paid them for as they didn't manage the property as we dealt with all the maintenance issues.

Average performance

A recent new tenant who turned out to be very pleasant was found very quickly. The previous Tenancy Find was supposed to be for two tenants in the flat whereas in fact there were three and I was not happy about that.

An absolute pleasure to deal with Peter, George and Umar of the Gloucester Road Office’s sales team on our recent purchase in South Kensington. A very high degree of professionalism (which can stand as an example to others in the estate agency business) and superb assistance which has enabled us to get to exchange and completion in record breaking time!

I found the process of renting extremely easy and straightforward and I will definitely recommend John D Wood to friends.
