Extremely disappointing experience dealing with Sawyer & Co on a purchase in Brighton. Our main point of contact was Bob Beaken, and communication throughout was poor - basic management pack queries went unchased for weeks, information was mixed and kept changing, and updates were inconsistent. The low point came when, after a brief and entirely reasonable visit to discuss timings with the seller, I received a call from Bob lecturing me about the visit rather than helping resolve the underlying delays that had caused the frustration in the first place. The seller withdrew from the sale shortly afterwards, at which point I'd have expected a competent, professional agent to be working to keep the sale together rather than adding friction to an already stressed situation. We had cash in hand and were ready to proceed quickly. The lack of proactive, professional handling from this agency made an already difficult process worse. Can't recommend.

I didn’t buy a property via Sawyer & co but I used Sawyer&co Financial Services and Kirsten Taylor has been magnificent. Always there to help and advise and nothing was too much trouble. Kirsten dealt with every step of my mortgage application even when there were hiccups. Excellent service

GoogleI just received a poorly designed "Life Magazine" from Sawyer and Co without ever having signed up for their newsletter. The unsubscribe link doesn't seem to be working, very conveniently for them.

At first, when we moved to Sawyer block management in 2019, we thought Sawyer was a great company but when Sarah left it seems to have changed. In the end of 2019 works were done on the building amounting to £250,000 (divided by 9 flats so £27,000) and now they say the front elevation is £62,000 (5 neighboring houses that recently decorated the front elevation said they paid 1/5 if this and ours was decorated 7 years ago!) and next year £90,000! That is almost £45,000 per flat in 4 years. When we ask Katie to explain she gaslights. That is 1/5 the value of 3 of the flats and 1/6 of the others! So if you want to be ripped off, Sawyer is the company!

FacebookWorst estate agent in Brighton and Hove. Rude, awful communication, can’t manage their vendors , never know what’s going on. When you try to complain they don’t even follow their own complaints procedure. The property we bought was not vacated so we moved in with the previous owners still there and moving out for nearly and hour. Property was left filthy and there was no attempt to sort it out, even given the risks around covid. Sawyer and Co tried to get payments delivered in cash for items and solicitors fees that sat outside of the contract (?!). The whole experience of buying a house is supposed to be exciting and joyous but we were left worrying constantly and being spoken to rudely by their staff. Not even a congratulations or card on collection of our keys. Says it all really. Dreadful. Avoid if you can.

Throughout the process I was supported by many of the team, all helpful and professional, but feel I should thank John White for his stellar service throughout, and Bob Beaken for finishing the deal. GoogleI had been looking for a property for a long time in the Brighton area when I was shown a property in Peacehaven by Adam of Sawyer and Co. I had looked, that day, at several homes that were not only inaccurate to their web details but I was also rushed, discounted and felt like they did not care. Instantly Adam made me feel relaxed, comfortable and at ease. He was knowledgable of the property and genuine if he did not know answers to various questions. I was able to view the property again with ease and again felt that I was a cared for buyer and not a money pit. I would heartily recommend this company and most likely come back to them for my own business affairs.

GoogleHaving moved from London to Brighton recently with lots of experience of estate agents when selling property, I was excited about deciding to make a purchase in Brighton, whilst always cautious of the integrity of estate agents. But Sawyer and Co have been absolutely fantastic in our experience so far with the entire process. We have found them to be honest, helpful and Kieran showed us around the property we fell in love with on 2 separate occasions. He didn't rush us, gave us all the time we needed and had all the answers to our questions ready and was again was above all, honest. FacebookMoving in to a new home with a partner is meant to be an exciting time but this nightmare is far far away from that. We were handed the keys to a property that was filthy; that didn’t have a smoke alarm (legal requirement). We still don’t have any heating after nearly a week being here. After numerous calls and visits to the branch. We feel incredibly misled because the landlord is elderly and deaf. We weren’t told the situation before moving in and he’s hard to get in touch with. As Paige said on the phone today “he’s a nightmare”! Our front door doesn’t lock, the hot water is just about dripping out and there’s hazardous wires all over the floor. Sawyer and co don’t want to deal with the landlord so they’ve palmed us of with no duty of care. While both working full time this has caused so much stress and upset. Wanting a safe, warm home really isn’t much to ask? Is it?

On 2 occasions I have arranged to view a property, I received my confirmation email and a few days later i receive a new email saying my viewing has been canceled as the property has now been let! How unprofessional, they should allow everyone who has arranged to see it then make a decision, so disappointed! Bad system and rude staff feel like when i spoke to them I was a bother
