What a joke!

Today is the 21st of September, almost a month since we moved into a place so called 'flat'.We are still sleeping on the floor with 2 children becasue the works are taking ages!Yesterday the walls in the bedrooms have been painted, but we are still waiting for the carpet treatment, even if those carpets need to be removed!Also, we have all the broken things in th small storage of the house to be wasted and a double mattress with stains and cuts since the 31st of August in the middle of the 'bedroom'.I'm in contact with the Islington branch and the property manager hungs up!I don't know how he thinks to solve problems! This is so unprofessional!

Highly recommended for managing your properties

I am very glad that I chose Chestertons to let and manage my flat. My property manager Julia Ptooshchenko is fantastic. She is professional and knowledgeable. Not only does she look after me (landlord) well, but she also equally cares about my tenants, which is very impressive! I have had quite a few managing agents over the years with my other properties. Tamara Price- Totally Amazing After a long process of looking for a property, Tamara's support was invaluable in helping us find our perfect new home. Best estate agents in town by far. Over 3 years ago, Ronan Rigney helped us find the loveliest flat to rent in Islington. Our tenancy ended this month, and we were due to move into another flat through a different agency, which very frustratingly fell through. We reached out to Ronan, who, even though on annual leave at the time, put us in touch with a colleague, Julia, who helped us find the most perfect flat within a few days. The level of professionalism, friendliness and efficiency cannot even be compared to the other agencies.

Chestertons Property Management - Maida Vale

This is specifically for the Property Management side of their business. In the last year they left us with 'foul water' coming into our kitchen sink and dishwasher for 4.5 months causing my flat mate and I to be ill on several occasions. There was no care or urgency to fix this and seemed to be absolutely no escalation path. This was followed up by 3.5 months of no heating control from Oct 24 till mid Jan 25. This is in no way due to the landlord who has been very good but is now as frustrated as we are and has caused us to leave the flat as we no longer feel safe and treated fairly. On top, they take weeks and weeks to respond to any questions and we eventually had to escalate through the Lettings side to even get a response. Steer well clear. This is in no way a reflection of their Lettings side of their business.

Avoid at all costs

My experience with Chestertons was absolutely shocking. On the move in day I picked up the keys and arrived at the flat with two removalists and their truck full of my things and furniture, only to walk into a building site. Chestertons had over 2 months of time to supervise the renovation works (they also managed the flat and they had absolutely no issue taking 6 months of rent upfront), but they are incredibly incompetent and they simply couldn’t care less. Works kept going for 2 months past the start of the tenancy date. For 2 months I had nowhere to stay and nowhere to store my stuff and furniture. I had to arrange storage and extremely expensive short term accommodation, which to this day still hasn’t been refunded to me by Chestertons/the landlord.Even after I moved in, for 5 months I had no hot water, and no one cared to fix it. It was winter and I had no hot water to shower. Also, the team is probably the most incompetent, rude and arrogant I came across in my whole life. If one is unable to speak to people in a polite way and has no basic manners then perhaps they shouldn’t have a client facing role - or any role at all. This agency is a total joke.

Would highly recommend sellers to avoid using Chestertons Islington! I don’t expect much, but these guys were particularly bad - unprofessional, aggressive, bad at communicating, and ultimately willing to jeopardise the interests of their clients in a way that felt reckless. Their sales manager is a particularly smarmy and unlikeable character! You will see from my profile that I have only ever given estate agents 5 star reviews in the past, which hopefully puts this in context.

I have been a client of JP Homes for over 10 years. I cannot rate them highly enough. Isaiah Samuels- Despite joining well into our tenancy, Isaiah was extremely proactive in trying to resolve our issues and give his best efforts in all our interactions. I didn't chose Chestertons then due to their management fees being higher than the company I chose at the time.Stephen stayed in touch every year religously to see if I needed to review my property management. Eventually in approx 2019 that time came, and I went changed over to Chestertons. Their knowledge, efficiency, communication, and professionalism far surpasses any other company I've worked with in my 20+ years of property investment.The team are highly responsive in dealing with any issues, keep me informed, and I can honestly say, do a terrific job of managing my property.Even if the fees are a little bit higher, it's worth every penny.
