Nightmare after nightmare

Nightmare after nightmare ! Didn’t learn the first time ! I can’t wait to leave them ! They cannot manage anything sadly . They promised 3 checks and I have 1 ! I have to rent house whilst looking after my mum who is palliative and I am taking care of her . After explaining the reason for a decrease in the management fee , I was Shocked how I got an email from Amanda digging that it was obviously going to affect me loosing out on 87p per day ! Anyone who has read the email all took it alot worse than I did ! Landlords beware ! Sweet talk you into it but then that’s it !

Lies and Manipulation

This is a message to tenant's. Please go elsewhere, find a different house. If MOLLY has done your viewing run a mile. She lies, says things are included in the tenency that aren’t then denies it once you are in the house. ALEXANDRA - Uses annual leave for her excuse to not replying constantly. To my record she was off 3 weeks in November and 2 weeks in December. She lies, she gaslights, she has no intention of responding to you. She ignores complaints, enquiries and request to escalate above her. She does not respond to senior staff at Connells or Burchell Edwards. And has even suggested to me that there is no management above her to complain to as she is the letting agent. This is after telling me she had requested the area management gets in touch with me…….three months later and after more request to escalate my complaint Adam gets in touch. Clueless of the situation. ADAM CLIFF - Area Manager constantly searching for excuses for his staff’s mismanagement and lies. Seems to spend his time trying to de value and dismiss my complaints rather than resolving them. He told me Molly and Alexandra denied telling me certain things were included. And that it was my word against theirs. Sent him emails as proof which he has ignored. And continues his argumentative and dismissive style of communication daily. This could have been solved months ago but Burchell Edwards culture seems to be a manipulation and delay response approach. This is nurtured from middle management down to apprentice. Landlords please give your tenants a chance and stay away from this company. Tenants have little choice what letting agent they end up with. Also it would seem that we are in a managed property that has been completely mismanaged by Burchell Edwards and they are passing the responsibility on to the landlord costing her a fortune. PLEASE GIVE THIS COMPANY A MISS if you do end up going with them my advice would be to communicate only in writing so there is a paper trail. Don’t ask question on the viewing ask them via email afterwards so you have answers in writing.

Absolutely Shocking company who done…

Absolutely Shocking company who done EICR report .We gave the our house to estate to rent out. Which needed EICR report so Burchell Edwards (Mansfield) who Hired electrician (B&P Electrical Installation Ltd) through Vibrant energy who quoted £1100 for the repair to pass the EICR.Then found out Electrician only quoted £649 for repair but Burchell Edward and Vibrant Energy added their commissionmore than 60%.But the fun fact was that the property didn't require much repair at all. The New EICR and repair was done only for £120.

If I could give zero I would have. Scammers!!The shocking behaviour from them for letting our property out,so much delays and we never get informed or updated about anything no matter how much we chase our eicr failed and they quoted us £1100 and when spoken to the electrician he said he only quoted £650. And now with payment of our rent,they are trying to over charge us out of the contract and not paying us right amount. After chasing them since few weeks nothing has been sorted and we still haven't got our money back..never use burchell edwards.The staff none of them are professional and never replies to your call or emails. Really disgusting behaviour and service. Mansfield branch is the one I used so please avoid.

AVOID!

Absolutely shocking service, what my partner had to put up with was just shocking, months and months of arguments, them not doing their job - no details passed onto sales progression team!! No one ever got back to him unless he literally harassed them or waited on hold until someone would speak to him, even then there was times when they would lie and say they were out of the office (they wasn’t just couldn’t be bothered to deal with it) but my biggest problem is they sell the conveyancing side to the buyers which are the completely inept premier property lawyers who just sit there and do nothing!! NEVER list your property with Burchell Edwards if you want to get anywhere!!

Avoid this scam agent..

Avoid this scam estate and letting agent, rented a property via this agent. When I left the property, the property was fully clean and no damage at all. After few weeks I got a email stating that I need to pay £580 for cleaning. I tried contacting them, they started to ignore me and sending emails to pay. This is how they are making money along with landlord. Avoid this scam!

Charging for service not provided and lying

I put in an offer on the above property via Burchell Edwards and as far as I was concerned, the viewing with them was conducting professionally. We were interested in the property and put in our offer to purchase. We proceeded to arrange our mortgage via our own broker but were advised by Burchell Edwards to utilize their in-house broker as he would be quicker and offered better rates. It was soon apparent that Burchell Edwards have a policy of sucking as much money as possible from potential purchasers by asking them take on their full package including their broker who was very incompetent and did not fulfil his appointments with us to arrange the required mortgage. Their in-house broker was charging us £749, whereas my own broker was only charging £199.In addition they were repeatedely telling me the wrong amount of stamp duty I was liable for, when I questioned both the manager and broker, they both told me I was wrong even thogh I informed them at that stage that should I be liable for the higher amount of stamp duty, I would not be able to afford the property.Burchell Edwards told me in plain words that’s should I not use their in house broker, they would not process the sale to me. they were aggressively pushing us to use them and it was to no avail and very unprofessional.I was told by my own broker that this was an illiegal stance conducted by Burchell Edwards and I should take all appropriate legal action against them.When I gave Burchell Edwards an opportunity to rectify this error, they appointed another broker, who promptly took payment for the brokering fee.As our purchaser fell through for various reasons, not least due the doubling of the stamp duty liability, we were unable to proceed with the purchase. The period between making the payment and our circustances changing was probably less than a week.I asked our broker that the purchase had fallen through in good faith and could the refund the broker fee which we were no longer using, but they refused.I appealed to the broker over several weeks however to date a refund has not been forthcoming.I have advised them that I would share my honest opinion of my experience with them on social media unless they refunded me my moneyI am now looking for a full refund from Burchell Edwards failing which I will have no other option but to take whatever action is necessary to get return of the funds. I am happy to remove all my feedback left on social media should they refund my money

Having been casually browsing the market for a few years we finally came across our dream house… but our house wasn’t yet on the market! Maddie from the Ilkeston branch came to our rescue and had our house listed within a day. Viewings done 2 days later, offer received and accepted 2 days after this. This enabled us to put an offer on our new forever home which was accepted the same day! Our sale went through with no problems and we were regularly updated throughout the process by our Customer Liaison Manager Alison. We are now settled in our new family home and can’t believe how lucky we are. None of this would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the Burchell Edwards team. Absolutely the best estate agency I've worked with. I'm a tenant and found my new flat through them. Chelsea and Amber have been extremely helpful and went above and beyond what was expected to help me and my partner through every step of the process. Very sweet and helpful ladies. The application process was quick and easy, everything was sorted pretty much within a week. They're very quick to respond if you need any help. Great agency overall, haven't had any issues whatsoever with them. They even gave us a cute care package with little goodies. Highly recommend them!

Had to give one star… would have given -5 if possible.I rented a property at short notice and without viewing as the previous tenant was refusing to allow viewings.On the day of my move I was struggling for time and had arranged a van for removal etc.Upon seeing the property I felt sick at the poor fit and finish to everything. My biggest concern was the garden which was advertised as low maintenance and perfect for alfresco dining. It’s a bomb site but I was told the landlord was aware and I was given assurances that this would be rectified within 2 weeks… I’m now on my 7th week and still no sign of the gardener .Avoid at all costs

Awful estate agents. AVOID!!! HOLD ONTO YOUR DEPOSIT FOR WEEKS.

Awful estate agents. I left a property after 2yrs in a clean and tidy state. Painted the walls, cleaned everything. Landlord agreed, said to release the full deposit to me. Thats where the fun started. Since then, a month ago almost, I have been led on a merry dance by Burchell Edwards trying to get back my money. 10 days is the legal requirement to get back your refund. Not 4 weeks. And still no money!!! Final report was written up within a couple of days of the release of the property to them. Someone else is in there now, so they have their deposit and mine!!! I have complained to Birchell Edwards every day since, to no avail. I've complained and opened a Resolver case (Burchell Edwards have a number of these ongoing with the company as they have them already preloaded)The tenancy ombudsmen are now looking into the case as this is disgusting and flagrant withholding of funds. They have all the required information as I have seen it in my emails from the company and the landlord.

They deserve a zero star , the worst company ever cheeky liars dont get involved with them , they arranged a view for me at 4.30 , I took a taxi was there by 4.25 they rang at 4.26 apologizing saying due to the vender and we need to rearrange the view , they did it 4 minutes before the time , unprofessional bad people , rude manners who hand up and dont take complaint they just do what they do and to hell with clientsdont wast your time on wasters like them

Burchell Edwards should be ashamed

Absolutely disgusted. Landlady refused to repair several dangerous problems. Left me and my 2yo without heat or hot water for 3 weeks in Jan-Feb. Eventually forcing me out by raising rent 12% knowing I couldn’t afford the increase as I was 36 weeks pregnant then marketing it at 25% increase in the rent I was paying.All because she had a leaking toilet replaced and decided she didn’t like it (after refusing to let them do it for 5 months) and I asked them to wait to replace the new one until after I had had the baby as I couldn’t go without a bathroom for another 4.5hrs.Renters beware, they will protect landlords from any legal action you would be able to take against dangerous homes and sleazy landlords.Who leaves a woman homeless at 38 weeks pregnant with a 3yo… that’s it, BURCHELLS
