Recently sold a house in Gants Hill through Doulas Allen barkingside branch. I was in a tight schedule with my purchase of another house was depending on this sale going through. Ammer, Bill, Andrew Billby, and the team have been fantastic through the whole process. They managed to generate 5 solid offers within few weeks of the house coming into the market. A huge thanks to Douglas Allen for helping me sell my home. I was previously with another agent, Bairstow and the experience there was absolutely horrendous. Words can't even begin to describe how poor the service was. They weren't able to sell our home for over 12 weeks so enough was enough. We finally made the choice and switched to Douglas and our first point of contact was Andy. He was very professional and clearly explained how things would work, with no hidden strings in between. He also read our old contract with Bairstow to make sure they weren't hiding anything and sure enough there was something. The cool off period was 4 weeks compared to the normal 2 weeks which caused us huge delays but Andy and their team assured us and provided us with a plan on how things were going to work to save as much time as possible. As soon as we signed the contract, a handful of key viewers were bought to our property by Rumel. A huge thanks to him for doing a brilliant job at this. Bringing in quality viewers and making sure they turned up on time. If this was Bairstow, you would be lucky if the agent and viewer even turned up. It only took 2 weeks for our property to find a buyer and Douglas handled this really well, making sure the viewer is financially able to purchase our property and doing all their checks prior to the viewer attending made sure the process would be smooth and gave us a piece of mind. From the beginning to the very end, their sales progression team ensured that the conveyancing process went as planned with no issues. I would like to give a huge thanks to all the staff in the office who are wholehearted and very respectful of you weather it's on the phone or in office. I will be recommending Douglas Allen to any of my friends who are interested in buying or selling a property. These guys know how to do their job well. Thanks, Vijay

Real Cowboy estate agent! Wasted my time booked an appointment to view a property in Hamilton Avenue in two month advanced and yet with no update. Drove passed the weekend only to find out myself property was sold! Also be aware of the Tender pack sale they do specially in Barkingside area not sure why buyer needs to pay the hefty fees!! Very disappointed!

We recently bought a house through Douglas Allen. Our first contact was Andy and he was absolutely fantastic in taking us through the process, understanding our requirements and organising viewings. He was extremely professional and provided a personalised service. A special mention for Faisal from Mortgage Matters Direct. He was instrumental in getting our mortgage and making sure that the completion happens in time. Joe definitely needs a special mention for orchestrating the whole thing. Only sore point in the whole transaction is JS Law, our first solicitors, who were not upto the mark. We had to change solicitors to get it through.

Was twice promised a call back regarding two properties that were on sale. Never received a call to book a viewing. Only after a fourth call I managed to book a viewing for which I waited a week and when I went to view it I was told my booking was not confirmed via text therefore I had no booking. After travelling for over an hour to view this property I rang the agency and was not once offered an appology. I was told it was my fault for not understanding when the agent allegedly said I should not go to the property until I receive a text confirmation which I was never informed about. Worst experience I have ever had with an estate agent!

Avoid this company at all cost! I had 1 viewing in 6 months of them marketing the property, yet every month they would send out a fake report and when I tried to ring them, no one is available to address the problems. Better off going to an independent agent as I have experienced a much better and honest service. These people are in a day job for a big company. When it comes to customer service , they simply don't care. i can only reflect on their level of service now having used an independent estate agent. Very disappointed!

The team at Barkingside branch of Douglas Allen are ok, but unfortunately they recommended JS Law for the conveyancing of the sale and purchase of our properties, and JS Law are completely incompetent. For that reason I have to give Douglas Allen 1/5. We were overcharged on multiple occasions, lied to by staff and the service was slow, stressful and full of errors that we had to sort out ourselves. So unless Douglas Allen change their legal team we cannot recommend them.
