TrustpilotOcean for renters
Ocean have been excellent considering the dire state of renting in our area at the moment! After months of looking online and trying to get viewings on flats, Ocean were the first company to even give us a call back about getting a viewing. My partner and I were shown around the property and communicated with throughout by Charlie, who has been very helpful and patient when we have called and emailed about tiny details and questions we've had. Highly recommend :)

TrustpilotFantastic local expertise
Ocean were fantastic, we chose them to sell our house. The good thing about Ocean is their great knowledge of our local area and the helpful and honest service. They did a great job of advertising the house and making sure the right clients saw it, and were on hand for good advice when we were buying our next property too. We chose them because we had used them 8yrs ago to buy our first property and they didn’t disappoint!

TrustpilotFirst Class Service
James and Jemima at my branch of Ocean provided me with a first class service. Communications were swift and clear throughout the process of letting a property. After putting it on the market, we had a large number of good quality applicants. It was difficult to choose. The advice and support has been excellent. They continue to manage aspects of the letting and I'm very happy with our arrangement.

TrustpilotGreat service
We've used Ocean to find our tenants for several years now and they've always done an excellent job. Alun and the team are very professional and personable to work with. They always find good-quality tenants, take care of all the paperwork and are extremely helpful when it comes to organising safety certificates, etc. They offer great customer service and I won't hesitate to use them again in future.

TrustpilotOceans Eleven!
Went with Ocean as their reviews were good and they were local to me. Start to finish from offer to collecting keys was eleven weeks. They were brilliant!! Everything explained as we went and very straightforward to be honest. When I did have a question they answered it very quickly and took my calls when I needed to chat - speaking to mates who have moved recently that is their single biggest gripe; can't get hold of anyone when you need them. Shout out to Karen L and Sarah from Westbury-on-Trym - LEGENDS!!

Very positive experience with the team at Ocean, Bradley Stoke. They managed our house sale, and new purchase and we were kept in the loop every step of the way. Special mention to Emily, Stefano and Joe as their efficiency made the whole process very smooth for us, which was greatly appreciated.

TrustpilotSimon - Excellent Service
I can't thank Simon enough for all the help and support he has given me during the purchase of my first home. From the first meeting at the Downend branch he was extremely helpful, realistic, and accommodating. He kept me updated throughout the entire process and was more than happy to answer all my questions and queries, as well as re-apply on 3 separate occasions to ensure I was getting the best possible mortgage. A brilliant experience all round and I can't recommend him highly enough. Thank you, Simon!

TrustpilotFaultless experience
I could not fault Luigi and Tracey at all. The 2nd time I have used Luigi through Ocean and I will never use another mortgage advisor. No matter how difficult & stressful the house buying process may be, I know Ocean will be the one company during the process I do not have to spend a second worrying about. Luigi makes everything so simple and easy to understand & I truly believe everything he does is in the best interest of the customer. Tracey has been fantastic making sure everything is going through as it should be and it’s so lovely to know you have people on your side helping to move things forward! Couldn’t be happier with the service we have received, a HUGE thank you to Luigi & Tracey at Ocean. Look forward to working with you again in the future :)

TrustpilotReally poor service
Really, really poor service from Ocean Property Lawyers Filton. During a recent house move I've encountered a complete lack of both urgency and proficiency. I suspect that unfortunately most solicitors will work backwards from a worst case scenario date and show little urgency before this date, but in my case any attempt to chase progress and hurry things along in a polite way seems to be met with a stubbornness that results in quite the opposite. There are many specific examples that I won't go into here where things could have been so much quicker, but the main one that I will mention is that any enquiries that are raised following searches are just worked through by the conveyancer without talking through with the client and explaining what the risk is of each one and letting the client decide which ones to pursue an answer or resolution to. Many, many days were wasted by the conveyancer raising lots of queries and deciding that every one needs an answer until such point the we have proactively on several occasions suggested that some might not actually need looking at as the risk is negligible. This should be the customer's choice. I am so, so frustrated that a house move with virtually zero chain took over 5 months from start to finish. I would happily have paid more for a quicker service but unfortunately in this industry there is no incentive to go quicker and no penalty for providing a poor service. Feedback from Ocean below doesn't really address my frustrations. We simply were not talked through each query nor were we given the option to decide how we wanted to proceed with each query. It was only after several attempts at asking whether we could choose to not have every query addressed that we were able to advise that we were happy to accept the negligible risk. Ocean Estate Agents in Bradley Stoke were great, but my advice would be don't be tempted to take them up on their offer of their own solicitors, instead look at reviews, and choose your own. The fact that estate agent and solicitor are with one company makes no difference. They simply do not work closely together.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the service provided did not meet your expectations on this occasion. We understand your frustration regarding the number of enquiries raised. One of the three transactions we were simultaneously tying in for you involved a complex shared ownership matter with changing circumstances, and we raise enquiries in the best interests of our purchaser clients. Our records also reflect conversations between your case handler and yourselves regarding the outstanding points and the potential to waive these. We appreciate your feedback and will take it on board, as it is important to us to strive to understand and consistently improve our high standard of customer service and care.We hope you are happy in your new home.Best regards,Ocean Property Lawyers

GoogleKeija has been hands down one of the best agents I’ve ever seen.
No other working professional will go to the extremes which she has gone to in order to find me suitable properties which fit my peculiar requirements.
It doesn’t matter if it takes a couple of days or a couple of months, Keija will make it happen.
On top of that she’s very professional, communicative and helpful when it comes to answering questions or conducting viewings.
Would recommend this agency 10/10

GoogleKejia is a highly professional intermediary. She is charming, patient, and meticulous.
If ten were the highest score, I'd award Kejia twelve. The two property transactions she facilitated were not merely services rendered, but reassuring, hassle-free experiences brimming with pleasant surprises.
Her professionalism is truly impressive. From our very first meeting, she consistently prioritised our interests, weighing all advantages and disadvantages. When presenting properties, her meticulous attention to detail meant she invariably spotted aspects we'd overlooked.
Even more commendable are her sense of responsibility and patience. No matter how late our queries arose, they were always promptly addressed. Every minute detail in the transaction process was anticipated and meticulously arranged in advance. Particularly at the negotiating table, her exceptional communication skills truly demonstrated the value of a top-tier agent.
In short, Kejia's professionalism, integrity, and wholehearted dedication have completely overturned my traditional perceptions of the estate agency industry. I recommend her to all my friends without hesitation, choosing her means choosing peace of mind and success.

TrustpilotBare minimum - don't use
Find a better firm!!I used them as recommended by the estate agents and it seemed like it would make things more streamlined and straight forward. The Conveyancers' office was physically located next door to the estate agents, so it should have been. Everything about how they communicated was poor. From answering the phone, where everyone sounded bored and not once gave their name until I asked, to the illiterate sounding emails I received on numerous occasions from my main point of contact. I generally could work out what she meant but it wasn't always clear, particularly when she included abbreviations she assumed I would know. I do not consider myself to be an unintelligent person, but I do not have a legal background and have limited prior experience of the process. I also know that poorly written emails were received by other people. I listened as my estate agent deciphered one, and had another poorly written one liner read out to me by my flat's management company. I assume the author must be capable of better since presumably she's passed some relevant qualifications, so I am left to conclude it is laziness. I also missed an email asking a question once, it can happen as was recieved at the same time as many that were 'info only'. Not hearing from me, she waited 4 weeks before chasing me, again with a 1 line email and without the history, so I then had to try and go back a month and find the original question. It felt as though she worked from a tick box perspective, along the lines of demonstrating she'd technically sent the information and/or request, then ticked off that she'd chased it etc. I feel she lost sight that her job was not to do a specific small task in the process on one given day, but to facilitate the sale as a whole. Despite constantly saying if anything was urgent please ring me don't email (like perhaps when one's not had an answer to a question for a month) she never once picked up the phone to me unless I'd left a message specifically asking her to. I also asked to speak to her boss on occasion, to try and understand what was going on. He is the only person I interacted with (though only briefly) in 4 months who sounded professional or like he had any interest.I believe the only reason the sale eventually happened was due to the brilliant contact I had at the estate agent. She and I spent a lot of time resolving issues. For example, the estate agent spoke to the buyers solicitors to clarify what they needed, and then I spoke to the management company to request the information. All of which should have been managed by my solicitors. There was also zero anecdotal advice from the Conveyancers about issues which weren't technically in their remit, but had been raised by the buyers solicitor where I needed to formulate a response, but wasn't sure how to proceed. On it's own, perhaps those might be reasonable. That they were scared of general off the record suggestions in case I sued, but on top of all the rest of the poor, disinterested service, it just felt like another negative. The reason I've given 2 stars not one, is because I believe they are inefficient at best, incompetent at worst, but not corrupt. (For internal use, as I don't believe in the public name and shame of individuals, but my main contact got married recently)

We are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with the service from Ocean Property Lawyers. We have reviewed your case file and acknowledge that we should have been more proactive in updating you via our conveyancing team. Ocean Estate Agents’ Move Managers receive updates from our team and subsequently update their clients. This process is designed to avoid duplicate updates and ensure our lawyers can focus on the legal aspects of the transaction. We recognise that this arrangement fell short on this occasion and will work to fine-tune the process for this team.We would welcome the opportunity to discuss this matter further and review the communications you mentioned. Please feel free to contact us at customercare@oceanhome.co.uk, as we cannot locate the numerous examples referenced in your review within our file. We understand that most clients do not have legal knowledge or experience, and we strive to avoid using legal terminology where possible. We believe you may be referencing an electrical certificate you provided, which was referred to by its abbreviated term in one of our emails. We see that the main point of contact apologised for any confusion in a subsequent email and clarified the document referred to.We are sorry that our overall service did not meet your expectations, please be assured that we will look to further improve our processes going forward.Kind regards, Ocean

I am a parent of student using Ocean Homes to rent accommodation. They are quick to take your rent and deposit at the beginning, however the same cannot be said of returning the deposit at the end of the rental period. It is as it they are taking advantage of students. This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We do recognise and understand your concerns, which we discussed with you today.
We acknowledge that there has been a delay in completing the cleaning and obtaining the necessary invoices to finalise the claim. We are currently liaising with your landlord to confirm the final figures and are working to resolve this as quickly as possible.
As your tenancy agreement is between you and your landlord, we act on the landlord’s behalf and are required to follow their instructions. Your deposit remains your money and is protected within the relevant deposit protection scheme. We therefore cannot release any proposed deductions without the appropriate agreement, nor can we return the deposit to you until we have received the landlord’s instruction to do so.
If an agreement cannot be reached regarding any proposed deductions, the deposit scheme provides an independent dispute resolution process that can be used to resolve the matter.
We appreciate your patience while we work to obtain the outstanding information from the landlord and will provide you with the final figures as soon as possible.

TrustpilotLetting the property with Ocean was a mistake!!!!!!…
Edit: I have just read Ocean’s reply to my review. The agency outright refused to manage any issues as I was no longer a client. I would have happily deposited funds with them had I been given the option. Original review: Letting the property with Ocean was fine, but the management of the property left a lot to be desired. Ocean do not vet their contractors properly, nor do they check the quality of the work. I paid £10,000 to have a house redecorated and when I complained about the work done the management team refused to visit the property to inspect it. As a result I found a new agent to let and manage my properties. The last property with Ocean was vacated today and the tenants have left a lot of issues. Ocean is refusing to deal with the issues because they no longer “manage” the property. Very unethical and money-grabbing company.

Thank you for your feedback. We regret that the relationship has deteriorated, and we acknowledge your comments. While our service concludes at the end of the tenancy, we will continue to handle the deposit return and any claims you wish to make regarding your property. Unfortunately, without funds on file, we cannot process any instructions for work. It is unfortunate communication became difficult during the calls, we can assure you our property management team were making every effort to assist. But they were unable to fully explore options with you.Regards, Ocean
